How is it possible to get lights in the owners name without proof of identity? Where I live you have to show a lease or mortgage agreement and 2 forms of ID.
How are they squatters if they are under 30 days? The police can’t do anything before 30 days? Are the people just not moving? As a regular person who owns rentals, this stuff scares me to death!!
My fiancés grandmother lived in Cali and she fell and broke her hip had to go to the hospital and rehab when she went to go home there were people living in her home and there was nothing she could do she was 86 and had the beginnings of Alzheimer’s and these people just moved in after a neighbor noticed she was gone. She never was able to get her belongings or move back into her home that they built over 50 years prior. She couldn’t even turn the utilities off so they even got free utilities!just sickening
People don’t take care of things they haven’t paid for. Even legit rentals. All of these rooms had DOORS when you moved in. Where are all the doors? Lightbulbs are NOT parting gifts!
I was down there years ago for the new Sheriff’s office delivering lime for the parking lot. I was terrified and nothing happened. I imagine it’s changed a bit, since.
It’s ridiculous to me that the squatting problem has gotten so bad that there’s a job to remove these people. They really need to fix these laws to fix this problem.
She lives on Ohio and is 80 years old. On her own she got this place cleaned up and for sale. Now these criminals illegally invaded her home and the police won’t help. We are her only hope really, especially because of her not living here.
