ive always loved mariah's voice. her mid register was always humble. it wasnt doing too much, it was simple and u could hear the vulnerability. but she also possessed a higher belting register that was just out of this world. her high notes (belts, headvoice, whistles) just took you to the heavens. the combination of all her registers really packs a full package that includes simplicity, vulnerability, emotion and power.

This is definitely one of her best songs she has ever created. Lyrics, melody, vocals. It takes you to a romantic journey which is so creative because the album’s title is Emotions. Ugh and she was 20-21 when she did this song. It even is better than some of her #1s. Wish they kept it in stores for like a week or two before pulling it off. Definitely would have gone to #1.
