After pricing out Disney World to a Disney Cruise we are definitely going to be doing Disney Cruises instead of the parks. We went on a cruise in October and it was just fantastic! It's so less stressful, the cast members are amazing, food is included and was so good. It was just easier, relaxing and the Magic is there. The parks have just gotten SOO stressful. It shouldn't have be so hard to go. Having to try and get a reservation to get into the parks, trying to find reservations for restaurants, genie+ is a mess and such a gimmic to have you pay more money and the crowds are terrible. They have taken away so much, but you pay more and stress out more (especially when your the planner of the family) and I also hate that I'm living in my phone trying to get us to the next thing to make the most of our time. I just cant get behind the parks anymore sadly..Disney Cruise is the way to go! That is a true vacation to me and when im spending that much money I want a vacation to relax and have fun and feel pampered and the cruise line does that :) we have 2 planned already for this year. Can't wait to go on the Wish!!

I think if you want a real vacation where you relax and unwind then a cruise is the way to go. Disney parks are fun, but it’s stressful having to manage crowds, all the walking, and planning out your dining.

Agree, I absolutely love The Parks, there’s nothing like it!!! BBBBUUUUUTTTTT A Disney Cruise is Amazing beyond words!!! I honestly can’t describe the feeling on a Disney Cruise. Everyone has to experience it to get that feeling, it’s wonderful ❤️ Thanks Michael!!!

I've done 1 Disney cruise and 1 Royal Caribbean cruise. The service was about equal, but the food and entertainment on Disney is waaaaaay better.

I’m looking to do both in December! I’m looking to do my first DCL cruise on the Wish for a Very Merrytime cruise as well as spend some time at WDW prior to sailing. What’s the comparison for solo trips?

The cruise appeals more to this senior citizen because of the amount of walking required in Disney World.

Both experiences are unique in their own way. Rides/crowds vs rest, limited people, relaxation and fun.

I always do Land & Sea. 5 days at WDW...AK, EPCOT, HS, MK, and one of the water parks. 7 night cruise, then, back to the Parks for a full day at Epcot, and 1/2 day at AK, 1/2 day at DS. Jam - packed, fun - filled, 2 week vacation!

I just can’t justify a cruise when I can go to the parks. That being said, I have never had a desire to cruise. It just really doesn’t appeal to me at all. I love the parks. We are park open to close kind of people and I just think I would be very bored on a cruise. Just my opinion.

We prefer cruising right now because it is safer. You must shown proof of vaccination, everyone is tested and the same for all the CMs. We have already been on 2 cruises in 2 months and it’s been heaven.

Nothing about the DCL justifies the price difference. Nothing. Quality and name recognition carry a premium, yes, but that premium is not 300%.

I priced out both WDW and DCL and the prices were similiar, actually DCL was cheaper. I'm curious how you came up with a 300% increase over WDW? Maybe I misunderstood your comment.

Some people see those things that you may see as a negative about Disneyland (proximity to other hotels/restaurants) as a positive. Personally I actually think Disneyland offers things and experiences that Disney World does not these days, even outside of history. I think a lot is just personal preference though, and I would personally pick a Disney Park every day! :) Thanks for the fun debate.

  • @rienailo

Right now my choice is actually Disneyland, because it's a better park for children under 5 (it's easier to walk between stuff). But once both my kids are over age 3 (so they can do the kids club) I plan to take them on a Disney cruise. I think we'll do Disney World when they are both tall enough to be the big thrill rides and don't need to break as often for naps and snacks.

Awesome context Michael! With teenage kids, we find ourselves going on more Disney Cruises, than going on Disney World vacations, the last four years! We are booked on the Wonder for Alaska this July, as well as on the Wish this December. We find that the cruises are just more economical for us than the parks; with all food included, and a on board credit for souvenirs, thanks to the travel agent we book through. DCL is even offering discounts currently on some of their cruises! This December we will probably stay at Port Orleans and go a few days to Disney Springs, though we are probably only going to go to Magic Kingdom a single day.

We're booked for the Wonder in late July. Can not wait. Hoping to see flights drop in price tho... that cruise is expensive enough on its own, without 3k spent on flights to get to it. ;)

@@trooper5157 Tell me about it! LOL I found a flight from Chicago on Air Canada for only $2,300, as opposed to everyone else who was charging 4K, only to have to cancel it, because they modified the flight, and we would have missed our flight home! We are trying to go through Disney right now for airfare, though am afraid to hear how much it is going to cost! LOL We were lucky in that we were booked on one of the Wish cruises which was cancelled, so took our 50% off discount to book Alaska, so we don’t have too much into the cruise at least; they are pricey!

Alaska was wonderful. Scenery is amazing. Some people fly to Seattle because it is cheaper and drive to Vancouver. But, that could be stressful.

We gave up on WDW a few years ago and now get all of our Disney fix on the Cruise Line....well, at least we did pre-covid. Had a few cancelled cruises, as a lot of us did, over the past two years but have bookings coming up and looking forward to that next sail date greatly. The cruises do cost more but the escape they offer, and the fixed capacity, plus the great service and the wonderful destinations all contribute to make it a no-brainer for us. We may never go to WDW again, but we can't wait to hear that next horn blast at a Sail Away party.

I love both but I think I prefer Disney World more. I just love going on the rides and seeing the fireworks. Eating around the world at Epcot. Exploring the different resorts and more.

Yes I especially prefer the cruise over Disney World now because the prices have sky rocketed and the experiences have been cut. It's also just so crowded now, with an hour or more wait times on the most popular attractions, I just feel like you'd spend most your day in lines. I still want to take my grandsons, but hoping they'll do more night time experiences so maybe it won't be as crowded and they can actually enjoy it better. I love both though, hard decisions. Lol

My family and I love doing both but the choice for us is very clear. As part of the “undesirables in society”, we are prohibited from cruising at the moment due to consciously deciding against the regiment of injections. Hopefully Disney drop the injections requirement as we do miss cruising with Disney.
