Seen so many low mileage, well looked after R56 Cooper S selling cheap due to an engine fault. Tempted as they make a great base for weekend fun. It's a shame the Prince engine suffers so much, take the faults away and its a brilliant little engine. Same as Rovers K Series - innovative light weight, sweet revving, compact unit. But they go bang.

Another quality video mate but you know I would pick you up on something from the detailing lol. Bug and tar remover is too aggresive really to be used with the clay bar. With a clay bar you should just use quick detailer or even just water. Save the bug and tar for any bits you can see stuck on the paint before you go and clay bar the car
First video I've seen from this channel really enjoyed it! Looking forward to seeing this series progress. The plastic trim looked great but for a pretty permanent solution try gtechniq C4 - had this on my r55 clubman for a couple of years now and it looks just as good as when I applied it! Amazing stuff. Just don't get any on the paint as it does cure like a true ceramic coat
Great video mate. Guessing you need to buy new plastic screws to fit wheel arches back on? What are they as I’m thinking of doing the same - have a back bag of plastic screws 🤓
Great video George. You've asked about re-painting the offside rear panel due to the scratch in the paint. Personally, I wouldn't re-paint the whole panel. You could explore the possibility of having a really good quality SMART repair completed or fill the scratch with paint yourself, using Larry Kosilla's technique of using a hypodermic needle (AMMO).

George painted cars longer than you've been alive ☹️, also worked at mini plant Cowley 15 last year's painting these bloody things 😂. don't think the bottom floor pan will ever rust , because of the seam sealer used and pre top coat treatment.ithink yours is chilli red with a jet black roof, take off the rubber sill covers and kick plates could be a load of crap behind their as your doing all this cleaning makes sense.there is a load of paint on the finish , trust me! Just carefully touch up with touch up kit from Halfords and carefully flat the brushed lacquer down to original lacquer and polish.hardly noticeable then.good luck 👌 hope this helps.all shuts only had basecoat on no lacquer finish until recently.
How cheap was it? I am sure I got the cheapest 2009 MINI First a few months back...£800, it was running but needed a new timing chain (never had one) and 02 sensor, £200 sorted it, it is running sweat! Just done 3,000 miles in it, bringing up the mileage to 145,000 miles - not bad for a 1.4 PSA where the internet said it would blow up at 60k! Cheap motoring!

I had a mini for half an year: an r50 seven edition from 2006, it was a nightmare, everything with the mark “bmw” just broke, EVERYTHING, incredibile
I’d use a T-Cut Colour magic polish in Red.
It has red pigment in it and will hide any scratches that have gone to the paint level 😊

The fabric Wheel arches and under engine covers hold a lot of mud. Mud is heavy. No one cleans them?.
I know r56’s can be challenging but did it really stop you in your tracks?
