Perfect video - had to replace our extractor fan as it had stopped working, and had no clue how to do it, (especially the electrical part). Followed the video step by step, new fan installed and working first time with no problems. Thank you!!
So grateful to have found this video. I need to change my mums downstairs extractor fan. This gives me an idea of what needs to be done. I can give it a go
Who do I call to install one in my bathroom wall and wire it up and everything?? Like….a plumber? A builder??? Who would I call please I dont have a clue? Im sick of my bathroom being all dingy and musty all the time🤦🏼♀️ Thanks
@@markhep he will drill the big hole in the wall as well?? The hole part struck me as a NOT an electrician job ? And thought …agh. Do I need a BUILDER …AND electrician???🤷🏼♀️ But you say just the electrician will do this job yes??? I will google electricians tomorrow thank you so much !! ☺️
@@DeeTeaDee yes electricians cut the hole and fit them you shouldn't need anyone else if your electrician should be able to get a builder in to sort it .but usually they do the full job 👍

Great video! I'll do this next week and make sure the missus understands this will be a really long and difficult job.
🤣🤣👍👍 cheers mate
thank you for the instructions, takes the mystery out of this job. Really helpful and going to have a go at replacing mine now.
No problem 👍👍👍
Do you have to use a piece of pipe in the hole? I've just had a fan fitted and they've made a right mess, it's leaking into the downstairs hallway
Hi yes a solid one like mine or a flex one .if you don't it will condensate down the cavity.thatd probably what you are experiencing 👍
Do you know the model number of the replacement as it seems to be identical to the one I currently have but it is so old, unable to identify the model
@@vaughanian1964 hi mate no I don't sorry.but even a newer model should be pritty much the same 👍
@markhep thank you
Great, nice and simple. Do you need to turn off the mains? Thanks for the upload.
Thanks .I would just to be safe .if you not sure what fuse it's on
I used to collect farm machinery but not anymore. I'm an ex tractor fan😉
😂😂😂😉
Not bad. Not bad at all
😂
Brilliant, thank you. I’m going to do it myself now 😅
👍👍
The one I'm replacing is a non timer one, I've mistakenly ordered a timed one, can I use a timed one or will only a non timed one work?
You need a permanent live ,a switched live ,and a neutral.
what if you have two brown wires?
What just two brown or a red or black as well if you only have two brown one minght be live so you need a tester to test if one is live
What is the replacement model number please?
if i turn the circuit board off the fan still comes on?
wtf do i do
@@Exeunt-philae it must be getting power from somewhere else

Manrose fans dont have shutters, this will let draft cold come in. Most bathroom fans have outside flaps.
