I love this scene. Hurley sticks up for Charlie, especially after Jack calls others "crazy". Hurley knows what it's like to be called crazy when, in reality, he's saner than most.
This is my favorite part of Lost. "... so I'm not listening to you... I'm listening to my friend, I'm listening to Charlie.". Oh the tears, even in 2019
This was a crazy twist because Hurley almost always had Jack’s back, for him to side with Locke wasn’t just him listening to Charlie. It showed how fractured the group had truly become.
I loved when Rousseau and Alex meet and acknowledge each other, the firs thing Rousseau asks is will you help be tie him (Ben) up. So sad what happened to BOTH of them. Jack should have heeded Charlie's warning.
Charlie's death led to this, the turning point in the show. The survivors split down the middle and for the rest of the show they were always divided, one way or another. They never fully recover or gather together again...until the ending. And this is what makes the ending so emotionally impactful. It accomplishes in death a healing reconciliation, a reunion that could never have happened in their lives.
Yess! I loved to hate him! Lol and i dont always feel that way about the bad guy in shows...but yeah i think because of his wit and the fact that the character was so well played...loved it..
Season 4 of LOST is definitely the most different of the entire show. It was so a game-changer. The show was finally on the backend and you could feel it.
I LOVE the way Hurley and Claire became a package deal after Charlie's death!! She was the first one to join Locke's side other than Hurley and it only because of her connection to Hurley through their love and friendship to Charlie.
Wonderful & powerfully eloquent speech. Fantastic & brilliant choice of words. This sounds like one of those famous lines of well-known poets & philosophers. I applaud & congratulate you, Hurley!!!!! Btw, superb and on point acting from Jorge Garcia. It poignantly shows his sensitivity and tactfulness. His voice, his whole body language, his facial expressions and gesture are fully charged with emotions. It´s no big surprise that really everybody loves Hurley as well as Jorge.
I love how Hugo handled Charlies death. So compassionate and emotional. What's interesting is that Hurley knows that Ben sent those Others dudes and that they were intent on hurting/killing anyone that stood in their way and yet Hugo does not resent Ben. He doesn't even look at Ben angrily. Hugo was always meant to be Jacob's true replacement after Jack did what he was supposed to and stopped/killed the Smoke monster.
such beatiful words from hurley Charlie: I WISH YOU WERE HERE and you will man, season 6, we are all waiting for you, it will be only 2 episodes, but they will be the best episodes.
@TheEpic22 no, He closed the door because desmond was running to the computer to see penny and he knew that if he let him get to it he wouldn't leave the room in time to live. he sacrificed himself in order for desmond to survive
No he died A. Because he learned he couldn't escape death and B. Because he was told if he died Claire and Aaron would be saved. It had nothing to do with Desmond. He closed the door so Desmond couldn't save him and also so the water wouldn't fill the station.
Jack just wanted to get him and his people off the island. He thought a chance that the freighter would get them off was better than staying on an island with a smoke monster, natives trying to kill them, and considering almost everything Ben said was a lie why believe him now.
In many ways, the breaking of the fellowship of survivors here is one of the most important moments in the series. Hurley taking the first steps towards being a true leader with a strong morality and influence, and this has a seismic effect on the entire group with every character acting the only way they can under the new circumstances.
And this is why Locke deserved to die without understanding. He had a god complex, and in doing so become the Devil through the MIB. "You know where to find us - when you change your mind." Not "if", but "when". Locke was arrogant, and that was his downfall Hurley was the true leader here. Not Locke. Not Jack. Hurley - he changed the hearts and minds of people, not because he wanted to, but just because he wanted to believe in his friend. . He didn't follow Locke. He followed his Charlie. Which is fitting, as Charlie's ghost became a guide for Hurley when he (and the Island) needed him to be.
@martin miguel that's because jack told Charlie he would probably die if he went, so when Charlie still wanted to go jack knew Charlie had accepted his death in order to help them. Hugo didnt know this so he took it worse
@nonameddog Hurley was always loyal to Jack, and he was genuinely a good guy. It hurt him to go against Jack, and he regretted any hurt feelings he might have caused by going against him publicly. Hence his apology to Jack while back at Santa Rosa.
Desmond let Charlie go down to the underwater station because he saw a vision of Claire and Aaron getting into a helicopter, yet this is the last moment Desmond will see Claire until the afterlife.
"So I'm not listening to you! I'm listening to my friend. I'm listening to Charlie."
Charlie's death was one of the saddest in the show. I still cry... 😭
I'd say Jins and Suns were sad as well.
Callum Bullock-Hill and boones
My top is Juliet, Charlie and kwons
Yeah this is like the only thing that made me a cry in a tv show
That goofball shouldve stepped outside the door then closed it
I love this scene. Hurley sticks up for Charlie, especially after Jack calls others "crazy". Hurley knows what it's like to be called crazy when, in reality, he's saner than most.
This scene had me so fricken emotional.
Charlie and Hurley had one of the most wholesome friendships I’ve ever seen.
This show has been over for so long and I am still crying
It’s a classic!
This is my favorite part of Lost.

Charlie’s death was extra sad because of Hurley’s speech...
@@NachoHatSD I wonder if Hurley ever talked to Charlie on the island later. I mean not in the show. That would be cool

I literally cried during Hugos speech about charlie
This was a crazy twist because Hurley almost always had Jack’s back, for him to side with Locke wasn’t just him listening to Charlie. It showed how fractured the group had truly become.
Ben has me dying everytime I watch this scene, it's all sad n shit and he comes in " Jack with your permission...." lmfaoooo
Good ol Ben. Always good with the zinger 😂
I loved when Rousseau and Alex meet and acknowledge each other, the firs thing Rousseau asks is will you help be tie him (Ben) up. So sad what happened to BOTH of them. Jack should have heeded Charlie's warning.

So funny & it also undermines Jack so masterfully in that moment

That's such a beautiful way to look at it. Since I'm rewatching the show I think this will help me appreciate the ending better.
Claire's crying in this scene kills me. I miss them so much
צודקת מאה אחוז הם כל כך חסרים😥
Lol.. "Jack, with ur permission, I'd like to go with John..."
hated Ben but he WAS funny and badass during certain times..
After Jack beat the ever living snot out of Ben.
Yess! I loved to hate him! Lol and i dont always feel that way about the bad guy in shows...but yeah i think because of his wit and the fact that the character was so well played...loved it..
It was impossible for me to hate him for some reason lol. I love Ben.
He is one of those super qualified old dudes, knows the struggle
Probably the most emotional moment in the series for me. Great acting from Jorge Garcia.
Season 4 of LOST is definitely the most different of the entire show. It was so a game-changer. The show was finally on the backend and you could feel it.
This scene is from the season premiere, entitled "The Beginning of the End". That name was chosen for a reason. ;)
I LOVE the way Hurley and Claire became a package deal after Charlie's death!!
She was the first one to join Locke's side other than Hurley and it only because of her connection to Hurley through their love and friendship to Charlie.

Don't think any of us ever will. There's never gonna be a show on TV nearly as good as Lost.
EVER
The power of music ❤️❤️ Michael Giacchino has cemented himself as one of the all-time great composers for media and entertainment
The music makes this show bigger. Cinematic.
Most shocking of Hurley's moments...
This is one of the most saddest moments in the show but when Hugo said "I'm listening to my friend" he sounded sooo Hispanic/Mexican
I actually really like that, like he's so emotional that his natural/family accent comes out.
My brain exploded and my soul started cry on this scene
A show has never made me cry in my life but this might be the first time
It's now 2016 and I'm still crying over Charlie's death!! 😭😭😭
me too :(
me too #R.I.Pcharlie

watching this in 2022 and still hits hard
If i was on that island I would listen to Charlie too he sacrificed his life to warn his friends. 😢
When you look up the definition of “Feels” in the Dictionary you see the word LOST

MY FKN DAWG HURLEY AND THAT MUSIC, OH MY THAT MUSIC. RIP CHARLIE. RIP CHARLIE.
Hurley ended up apologizing to Jack later on the series for this. He said he should have never went with Locke!
Jack was wrong and went about it the right way
Locke was right and went about it the wrong way
Hurley was so pure...
I watched all six seasons of lost and this one always gets me!😂😭
Sawyer's sudden Irish accent when he says "survivin'" is startling.
15 yrs later, still makes me cry
One year ago I've seen lost, but whenever I remember this scene I'm still crying
Jack disliked this =))
I rather stay with jack and also this is Hugo fault he was the who told Charlie to go in there and he also know that boat wasn’t even penny’s boat
Great speech as well from Hurley put his entire heart and soul into it
It's sad that this is how jack found out about charlie
I was sooooo depressed after Charlie died :(
Locke was right, Jack was wrong- Lost
Actually they were both wrong, and both right :)

Desmond close second.
Kate a shit. A SHIT.

but hugo admitted to jack that he was wrong going with lock .... and desmond was wrong claire never got rescued in the chopper
Rose was correct in that moment. Go on your own
I remember seeing this for the first time, I HATED how Jack was totally disregarding Charlie's sacrifice and I was so pumped up when Hugo spoke up.
Jack just wanted to get him and his people off the island. He thought a chance that the freighter would get them off was better than staying on an island with a smoke monster, natives trying to kill them, and considering almost everything Ben said was a lie why believe him now.
1:25 Charlie’s theme😭
People went off with Locke like he thought Locke was a good guy Jack wanted to really help the whole group.
This is the saddest music out of any tv show
I love Hugo and Jack!!! Hugo the sweetest and Jack was a good leader had a lot of weight on his back
I miss Lost, Charlie my baby
The entire world cried when Charlie pushed away from the door and made the cross.
Desmonds reaction is devastating. Hes trying to keep his composure but you can see the guilt and grief on top of him.
It's almost 2017 and this is still my fav.
I love the moment Sawyer makes a move towards Locke's group, Kate's like "What are you doing?" 🤣🤣
My tears are bleeding
Same thing I've always done, Kate. Surviving.
i love how he says 'im listening to my 'friend'
Charlie was one of my favorites
after a 6 years of this show... this scene ...well, its to sad 4 me :/

Not really, Hugo was right.
Hugo told Jack when they left the island that he was wrong cuz he choosed to follow Locke, so!
Guys charlie died to get arron and claire off the island.which eventually didn't work.that's y he closed the door.:) helpful tip.
Yes it did they both got out of the island by the 6th season
It worked but it didn't happen the way Desmond envisioned it. The circumstances changed but the outcome was always the same.
Addicted to this show right now, currently on season 5
@alittlesnag. Charlie didn't mean to survive. The reason he locked the door was so he would die.
Charlie is the best character
Charlie was. He was overcame his demons, found love, raised Aaron for a bit.
And this is why Locke deserved to die without understanding. He had a god complex, and in doing so become the Devil through the MIB.
"You know where to find us - when you change your mind." Not "if", but "when". Locke was arrogant, and that was his downfall
Hurley was the true leader here. Not Locke.

That was a very historical day.
They didn't mourn him long enough
Desmond let Charlie go down to the underwater station because he saw a vision of Claire and Aaron getting into a helicopter, yet this is the last moment Desmond will see Claire until the afterlife.
