Goats probably less than a week, possible a few days at best, by a week, it would be climbing the stairs and jumping off the top, lol. But it is thinking that :-)

I'm not a "hater" but I do think this vid feels... Wrong. The little goat, at least, looks frightened and tense and shouldn't be indoors, let alone being chased around by a clumsy and confused dog. It feels like it's all done for the amusement of humans.. Which makes me a tad uneasy.
I think you make a couple of points, but only within the context of this one short video. Absolutely this little four-day old goat is unsure of his environment. I wouldn't call him frightened or terrified, though. If he was, he'd be bleating in horror and running for his life. He's not, he's just getting out of the way of a big strange animal. The way I see it, the goat is just trying to figure out what is going on. He's just acting like anyone would in a new situation. "What is THAT? It looks scary, but I'm not being hurt....OH MY too close.... but it might be a friend. Maybe. I need to figure this out. OMG too close again. Yikes, my legs don't work. This floor is weird. What is going on?" Certainly, this video (like all videos posted on TH-cam) is for the amusement of humans. However, what I also see is a friendly puppy desperately wanting to make friends with a new potential playmate, and humans in the background who clearly care for both animals. I'm confident that this short video doesn't represent this goat's entire day. In fact, I would be VERY surprised if this goat hasn't already taken a nap on the dog several times by now. We also don't know that the goat doesn't stay outside most of the time. We can't infer much about the goat's life just by this one video...except for one: the puppy wants to be his friend. Goat doesn't know that because he doesn't speak "dog body language". He probably figured it out within the next week.

It IS wrong. The kid just wants milk and it's mother. The dog wants to play. It's a big breed and could injury the goat by accident. Uploader wasn't very smart here.

Relax people, the baby goat and the puppy probably became best friends within the next few hours, I bet you they slept together in the dog bed later that evening. Personally, I would've tried to helped the pup to keep his energy level a little lower but that's maybe easier said than done because Golden Retrievers got more energy than a kinder garden, it was so exited and wanted to play.
Many years ago I watched my pet goat ( Laverne) give birth to 2 kids. Within 10 mins of birth they were both running about ( still a bit shaky on the balance) and kicking their back legs up in the air. Amazing animals

R Kely PN--maybe a cat...except that a cat won't be living out in the field with the goats to protect them from predators, like the dog will. Dog has to learn about the goats while it's young, and goat has to learn while it's young about dogs so it doesn't try to butt them later and probably really hurt them, or be afraid of them and run away from them. Dog has to know that's not dinner, and goat has to know it won't eat them, even if it is a little rambunctious. .
Seriously one of the most chill kids I've ever seen. Surprised it wasn't head-butting the pup haha. Probably just confused. Pup was being rather gentle too, especially considering the lack of traction XD

These are the same kind of people who will let their kids act out in public, rather than teach their kids how to act properly and politely in public. Calm the puppy and coach him during these early interactions. Give the baby goat "some" chance at not being accidently taken out by an excited puppy.

Pyrenees are great dogs, they’re very brave and strong in spirit, but thats not necessarily what people consider “purity”… Like purity is innocence, sweetness, wholesomeness, naivety, gentleness, etc. I don’t think any animal can be classified as “most pure”- i think op is just making a statement about how precious and dainty the kid is. also worthy to consider that the livestock being guarded by dogs, especially the babies, are largely defenceless. That actually makes them seem more ‘pure’ in a certain view. Again, i think most every animal is pure, by their very nature.

As a person who has raised goats for 30 years and had livestock guardian dogs for nearly that long, the goat kid was in no danger at all, and wasn't even scared of the dog. The one time the puppy accidentally knocked into the kid, he immediately ran over and sniffed the goat to make sure it was all right. Besides, the humans were right there, to make sure nobody got hurt.
I love Labs so much, pure canine sunshine. And this white lab puppy is gorgeous and he's trying to be gentle with the baby, as best he can because he's over excited and clumsy. Although the poor baby goat, I could tell was a bit frightened towards the end... I would have had intervene on the goats part, don't like to see animals being scared.
Anxious baby goat wants its mother, puppy needs a nail trim, slippery floor is an ACL injury waiting to happen, puppy can't zoom properly to get its energy out, house is not animal-friendly. I just felt sad for both animals watching this video. I hope no ACL injuries were sustained in the making of this video. Note to owners: flooring stores sell carpet scraps cheap. You can get room-sized scraps for fifty bucks or less. Not berber, though; it can rip off toenails.
TOTALLY agree!!!! Those floors are NOT pet friendly. These owners don't seem to have any logic about pet safety in the home. It just baffles my mind how ignorant people can be!!
maybe not ideal but Ive known PLEANTY of pets who grew up with floors like these without any injuries.. even on a farm where they had a indoor pig with dogs
This is adorable. Puppy really wants to play but the little goat is just too young and not coordinated enough to stand up to puppy play. Little guy was only 4 days old. I bet they played together wonderfully when baby goat had a chance to grow some more.
I get so fucking nervous watching videos like this. 'puppy meets kitten' or 'puppy meets smaller, fragile baby animal'. Puppies are boisterous and can easily hurt smaller animals, even if they don't mean to. I'm glad to see two people standing by in this video but shit like this probably isn't a good idea in the first place. I know dogs are awesome but they can be clumsy AF, and other animals aren't as 'rough and tumble' by nature and you need to be considerate of that.
Tipsylou I agree with what you are saying and you are absolutely right but at the same time if they are going to keep both of the animals this meeting HAD to happen. They probably could done it a bit safer (Not having them on laminated floors. Waited for the goat to mature a bit. Holding the pup by a collar, or holding the goat) but they were chaperoning so it wasn't too bad.
Integra Hellsing Goats are sturdy little fuckers. At 4 days old, they are not. If they'd just waited another week or something, the goat could've held their own and been stronger. And like you say, there are hundreds of better options with regards to introducing two animals to one another. Controlling the puppy would've been a good start.

@@My-Pal-Hal well i know that, im just saying that heroism is something that exists in many animals. Pyrenees are great dogs, they’re very brave and strong in spirit, but thats not necessarily what people consider “purity”… Like purity is innocence, sweetness, wholesomeness, naivety, gentleness, etc. I don’t think any animal can be classified as “most pure”- i think op is just making a statement about how precious and dainty the kid is.
also worthy to consider that the livestock being guarded by dogs, especially the babies, are largely defenceless. That actually makes them seem more ‘pure’ in a certain view. Again, i think most every animal is pure, by their very nature.

At 4 days old I doubt the goat would enjoy anything. This goat will eventually wind up on the dinner table. I wouldn`t be too concerned until then.

As a person who has raised goats for 30 years and had livestock guardian dogs for nearly that long, the goat kid was in no danger at all, and wasn't even scared of the dog. The one time the puppy accidentally knocked into the kid, he immediately ran over and sniffed the goat to make sure it was all right. Besides, the humans were right there, to make sure nobody got hurt.

I love Labs so much, pure canine sunshine. And this white lab puppy is gorgeous and he's trying to be gentle with the baby, as best he can because he's over excited and clumsy. Although the poor baby goat, I could tell was a bit frightened towards the end... I would have had intervene on the goats part, don't like to see animals being scared.
Anxious baby goat wants its mother, puppy needs a nail trim, slippery floor is an ACL injury waiting to happen, puppy can't zoom properly to get its energy out, house is not animal-friendly. I just felt sad for both animals watching this video. I hope no ACL injuries were sustained in the making of this video. Note to owners: flooring stores sell carpet scraps cheap. You can get room-sized scraps for fifty bucks or less. Not berber, though; it can rip off toenails.
TOTALLY agree!!!! Those floors are NOT pet friendly. These owners don't seem to have any logic about pet safety in the home. It just baffles my mind how ignorant people can be!!

This is adorable. Puppy really wants to play but the little goat is just too young and not coordinated enough to stand up to puppy play. Little guy was only 4 days old. I bet they played together wonderfully when baby goat had a chance to grow some more.

I get so fucking nervous watching videos like this. 'puppy meets kitten' or 'puppy meets smaller, fragile baby animal'. Puppies are boisterous and can easily hurt smaller animals, even if they don't mean to. I'm glad to see two people standing by in this video but shit like this probably isn't a good idea in the first place. I know dogs are awesome but they can be clumsy AF, and other animals aren't as 'rough and tumble' by nature and you need to be considerate of that.
Tipsylou I agree with what you are saying and you are absolutely right but at the same time if they are going to keep both of the animals this meeting HAD to happen. They probably could done it a bit safer (Not having them on laminated floors. Waited for the goat to mature a bit. Holding the pup by a collar, or holding the goat) but they were chaperoning so it wasn't too bad.
Integra Hellsing Goats are sturdy little fuckers. At 4 days old, they are not. If they'd just waited another week or something, the goat could've held their own and been stronger. And like you say, there are hundreds of better options with regards to introducing two animals to one another. Controlling the puppy would've been a good start.
