Honestly this is way much better than the popy sound she is a great singer and this is her identity I mean she can express feelings and you can hear that she's feeling it more like this. I agree! Her voice is truly a miracle. I much prefer her stripped versions as well. She’s in the league of Mariah, Whitney, Barbra, who all are/were at their best singing with a minimalist arrangement. The pop versions somehow don’t showcase that depth of emotion, sadly. Also they always make her beautiful power notes blend in the rest of the song too much.
She seems to really like the poppy, heavy production stuff tho. I prefer her acoustic/stripped stuff, and think that's what'll make her big, but I'm grateful because, up to now, we've been getting both!

I first heard this song in an Arby's on their radio. It was the pop version, obviously, but what caught my ear was the note jump she makes in the chorus. It's superb and as a persnickity musician, it hit all of the right buttons for me. I love hard rock and metal for its musical intricacies, and pop music usually doesn't have that level of musicality in my opinion, but this song is one of the few pop songs that does. Chef's kiss for her.
