Your wonderful talk has validated my recent struggles to make since of this world today. After some inward searching I came to the same conclusions that you did, and I know now what it is that I have to do. Every day I take the skills and talents that I was gifted to make the world a better place, and yes, it includes the grocery clerk or the bag boy. How wonderful that you have noticed that energy as well! Be a positive force in your sphere of influence- it is easy to do and it is contagious. Your talk gave me more energy and motivation to continue my loving service. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your beautiful talk today and a joyful season to you also. You popped up on my youtube last week for the first time and I loved what you said about "smelling the roses". Then I found and watched your movie, "My Life"--really was touched by the moment when the Dad was teaching how to do the jumper cables, appreciated how you had the courage to tackle daunting moments. Now this week was amazing. First of all you caught my attention because you sound like Bernie Sanders!! Also, I lived through those 60's like you, visited NYU in summer of l964 to perform a dance in order for my dance teacher from UCSB to receive her doctorate. Fell in love with New York and returned after finishing school in late 1960"s. Curious about a name you mentioned two times: Rudy? your teacher? Wondered if he was the same person a friend of mine told me about during her study of Kundalini back in the late 60's? So what I am saying is I can really relate to a lot of what you are expressing and I very much appreciate it. Sending love and kindness.
The Kennedy assassination is my earliest childhood memory. I was 3. It was the first time I saw my dad cry. And he ‘hushed’ me. I thought I had done something to make him cry. But he was watching the funeral on T.v. I didn’t understand the pain he was in. It impacted our entire relationship.
Yeah, I'm in my Ecclesiastes phase. Or Han Shan. I don't really want to go get ice cream, but i do feel called to sit and gaze at the mountains i have loved & served in conservation efforts. What will happen to our national forest? JD says it is idle & "useless" & must be turned into timber contracts & private real estate full of lights and lawnmowers & asphalt. "I said to my soul, be still... Wait, wait without hope, for hope would be for the wrong thing." Or however it goes, by t.s. Elliot.
Thank you so much! This touched me so much.
