This man is correct. The biggest problem is player retention which stems from pay for play. No coach is outworking Beamer. This is not Texas , Georgia, or S California. If the team doesn't implode on Florida last year and we make a bowl ,we're not having this conversation. Of course if he doesn't get it done he's gone. Name of the game in coaching. My biggest gripe is that if Beamer gets this thing turned around , all the negative detractors will be strutting around and wanting Beamer to be governor.
Not gonna happen. Beamer will be GONE after the 2025 season.

I 100% agree with your assessment! He has one bad year and people want to throw him under the bus, it's crazy. He's building a strong program with great recruits. Just give him time to develop these guys and we'll be fine. Unless a coach is a total disaster, which Beamer is FAR FROM, you have to give a coach at least five years to build a program no matter who the coach is.

I'm so tired of the 'hate' towards Shane...in his first 3 seasons, he has a record of 20-18, which, at a winning percentage of .53 isn't the greatest... but in his first 3 seasons, the HBC Spurrier was only 21-16, for a winning percentage of. 57. So our fair weather fans need to give Beamer a chance.
Coach Beamer got hired Dec. 6/7th 20and got the 80th Ranked Recruiting Class in Feb. “21”!!!
Since then the Recruiting has Improved Significantly and with this years Portal additions they (With Coach Beamer at the Helm) Will Surprise Some People!!!

Only morons want to get rid of Beamer. We have a HC that actually wants to be here! Not in the SEC at South Carolina! How many coaches like that do people think are out there? Stop comparing w schools who have the history&prestige of winning, the big donors or recruiting grounds to consistently be at the top. Beamer is an excellent recruiter and the recruiting ranks show that.

I totally agree with you. Excellence generally takes TIME. Heupel at Tenn is an outlier and I believe that his high speed offense will get figured out sooner that late by other SEC teams. But with regard to Shane - think about it - he was there for the Spurrier glory years. What did those teams have ? #1 They had REALLY good defenses with many players that went to the NFL. #2 They had a mobile QB (both Garcia and Connor Shaw) with good to exceptional arms. #3 They had at least 1 really good WR like Alshon Jeffrey (for 2 years) and 1 really good RB in Marcus Lattimore (for about 1.5 years). The rest of that 3 year period they had good - but not great - WRs and RBs. Ace Sanders and Bruce Ellington were really good but both were undersized. The Gamecocks did have very good TEs but nobody that was truly a standout. After Lattimore at RB they had Brandon Wilds and Kenny Miles - both good but not stars. Having been a Gamecock for forever (I am 65), I think Beamer is building towards a Spurrier type team but with better offensive personnel and an equally good - if not better defense. Look at the recruiting trends - heavy emphasis on the O Line and D Line in the last 2 years. LaNorris Sellers is an absolute stud at QB that has better arm talent than either Garcia or Shaw and can out run them both on their very best days. If Nyck Harbor can develop like we all hope he will - he will be a nightmare for defensive backfields. We have a number of transfer WRs that have talent and experience even if they are undersized. The RB room has quality and depth and if Rocket can return to form.... well that will be a different story. O line is young but UBER talented, the D Line is filled with veterans this year and has some incredible young talent like Dylan Stewart who *definitely* will make a difference this year and going forward. We have veterans and young talent in the back end and a much improved and faster LB room with Deebo Williams returning. There is no doubt in my mind that our D will be significantly better than in the last 3 years. I like what I am seeing and feel optimistic for the future of the program - just give Shane some time to fill out his vision through recruiting and the portal. GO COCKS !!

The problem is SC's OL hasn't had a decent OL in over a decade. Or skill players have had to work around that to get anything done on offense. This hurts our recruiting. If we fix this we can really start to compete but no one has been able to fix it. They can't fix it so they downplay the problem, try to sweep it under the rug.
Beamer is doing a lot to improve the Oline including 5 start recruits

I'm a long term Maryland fan. (I also attended the University of Michigan so I follow two schools). South Carolona has been getting grief ever since they left the ACC way back in 1971 and joined the SEC in 1991. They were always seen as a tobacco road (South division) school. They don't get any respect. This is nothing new.

I'm not a Gamecocks fan but let's be fair, Alabama would have gone 5-7 last year with all the injuries they had. Backups of the backup were hurt. What would someone want him to do.
Yeah, our fan base is one of the most ignorant in the country. NIL changed a lot. It’s hard to win in CFB, especially in SEC, and unless Saban wants to join Holtz and Spurrier in NC winning coaches coming out of retirement to coach at USC, who would his replacement be? We have recruited well, and everybody wants use Spurrier as the metric to measure all subsequent USC head coaches. After his third year at USC, Spurrier was 21-16; Shane Beamer is 20-18. Very similar. Also, NIL changes everything. Imagine Spurrier having to worry about retaining Clowney, Gilmore, Alston Jeffrey, Swearinger, etc. those guys would be offered MILLIONS to transfer to a program with deeper pockets.
I truly cannot understand this Beamer hot seat talk. The guy was handed a dumpster fire, and with the transfer portal it is nigh impossible to build a program when have to rebuild your roster every single year. The guy is doing yeomans work. And most importantly, unlike under Muschamp, the offensive scheme is competent and entertaining to watch. I just wish we could keep the players we developed, instead of losing them to higher profile programs and NIL as soon as they have success.
Not that what I think means much but here is my 2c worth. I think a lot of people are looking at Shane as doing exactly what Will M did. Over performed in year 1 and 2 and fell off a cliff in 3 only to fall further until he was ultimately fired in year 3.5. This, so far, has followed the exact same trajectory. That being said, I hope he gets back into the 7-8 wins area in year 4. It’ll be tough, and the schedule definitely isn’t going to be easy. That being said, a sabanless Bama is not nearly as scary.

Remember there isn’t but maybe 3 other schools that have schedules are harsh as South Carolinas. There is a reason for this, yea you call us mediocre or crumby, a crap school/team. No bodies… we can allow for that but you fail to realize like this year we have a 4 game stretch of Ole Miss, Bama, OU, A&M and Vandy. Sure Vandy should be a snatch and grab but that is after 3 DOGS. Our entire schedule is that way. Every. Year.
