I studied in the UK few decades ago. British do not mind your accent in general, they respect different accents from different people. In the UK, there are many accents such as from Birmingham, Liverpool, Scotland, etc. As long as people can communicate with proper English, they think it is no big deal.
I also think I have a very strong Cantonese Accent. However, I can feel that people in the UK do not care about your accent as long as I can communicate clearly with them.
I rarely give thumbs down on any YT videos, but this is one of the very few. Time to use “hongkongese” instead of “Cantonese”, because of the Hong Kong Cantonese or hongkongese is a lot different than the traditional Cantonese since long time ago. 我觉得老师和家长的想法都可以理解。老师是为了加强学生的适应能力，能尽可能听得懂不同地区的口音接收得了来自不同地区的输入，而家长是为了让学生的英文尽量标准，以尽可能使得不同地区的人都听得懂他们的输出。

我認識的外國人（來自英、美、加）全都不介意不同國家的口音，似乎只有少數亞洲人（香港人？）介意自己的英文口音。其實對其他母語是非英語的人來說，有其他與口音係好正常。我認識的那些竹笙仔竹笙女都幾乎係英文為母語，有少數仲可以講流利廣東話，不過口音跟我哋香港粵語好唔同！

其實段片唔好笑，亦反映思想好狹窄，「咩accent好笑」/仲要人模仿=嚴重歧視加無文化嘅行為，求香港/亞洲人去到歐洲就唔好做呢啲咁無文化嘅事影衰亞洲人啦🫠
好多本地人都覺得 scouse 係最可愛口音, 要難聽得明, YORK, NEWCASTLE 有過之而無不及

相信大部分人種 除咗所講嘅係母語 只要講外語 就一定有唔同程度嘅非正統口音 英國人講廣東話講唔正我唔會介意 非洲人講潮州話講唔正更加冇問題 語言主要目的用嚟溝通 執著發音正唔正確係人嘅問題
咁香港人就唔應該笑人地廣東話🈶福建、潮州等口音啦，點解我地唔可以攞同一個標準待人呢

Everyone speaks with an accent. It is how you say it ,be polite, and don't make grammar mistakes . It is all right. Anyway, no one is perfect.
