I do this and I get 1500 - 2600 xp. You need a coachman with extended magazine. Put 8 husbandry and be quick to shoot! Also, companion xp + tranquilitea helps but you can do around 1600 without it. I'm currently in the lv 225.

It most certainly is an exploit. I doubt that the husbandry was designed to endlessly supply a way to get xp, but more so to fill your outposts with a variety of creatures you've found along the way. Abusing the functions of the resource is by definition exploiting it. I see your point though, but playing the game is more like exploring, ng+, role playing etc. It would be more appropriate to patronize this guy if he said "gaming exploit: complete the main quests over and over"

Little update for those who want this simplified.
You can perform this farm before you unlock Weapon Engineering 3 and Special Projects 1. The Hornets Nest Coachman makes this farm significantly more efficient, with more forgiving ammo usage, but you are able to perform it using regular, non-explosive weapons as well.
I found that an Advanced Tombstone was able to destroy the generators in about 30 rounds, whereas Eternity's Gate, (the weapon wielded by the Emmisary) only took a single shot. What this means is that you can perform this with any weapons you desire, allowing you to begin farming sooner.
This is especially handy if you want to level up to unlock Weapon Engineering and Special Projects, as you may have gotten to a high level while neglecting that skill tree, which would make beginning the farm as described in this video significantly harder. Using my method however, will allow you to begin following the rest of the steps with less efficiency, but also 4 less perk points.
Also, you don't need to kill the animals with the same explosion you use on the generator. I tend to have 4 husbandries down... and go from right to left. I fire one shot into the right side of the husbandry to hit more creatures, then one to the left to wipe out the generator. This maximises the Exp yield and ensures faster levelling.
Yeah I’m not seeing any XP difference between this and Pyrass with the spider crab things.
Spider farm ftw. I thought the same thing. Being married and using the sleep perk I get 528xp per shot.

Pyrras is better place to farm (2 primordial insects) as the creatures do NOT spawn on the roof of the building.
I’m running around 750 to 800 XP on pyraas VIII a-
I also made a slight modification and put two more number one level husbandry’s facing the main one that I’m working from and let the spiders wander over from there into my line of sight and sometimes hit over 1000 !!

i build a pair of husbandries with the generator facing towards each other, and aiming well you can shoot both with one bullet, effectively doubling the XP output per bullet :D
so now i hit 8 husbandries with 4 bullets

What exactly makes this different from the Pyras farm? It seems the same to me unless I’m missing something. (Btw love your videos, you got me from lvl 50 to lvl 100)
The monster seemed to give me more XP than when I was farming those ant things. Not sure if it’ll be the same for, so let me know :)

Dont do the foxbat farm there will be too many dead lying atound afzer grinding and black youre shots do the little ants they also give slightly more xp

I’m doing it on console it’s not fixed. Are you actually killing the creatures? If you only hit the generators when the creatures aren’t anywhere near it then you won’t get XP.

I’m not getting any xp from the generator explosion. All the creatures are right next to it. And on very easy. When the generator explodes the creatures just despawn instantly without giving me xp. I am doing it just like you are at 3:50 in the video. I used to get xp like that, then it suddenly stopped working
This has started happening to me as well. It was fine until I tried changing the difficulty level to see if I got more xp and ironically, now I don’t get any. I still get xp for killing the creatures, just not this method, as you mentioned.
So I just tried changing the difficulty back to what it was before and now it seems to be working again.

Doing these farms… is boring. By the time you set everything up, you could complete most if not all of the main quests. Running a new game + usually nets a good amount of xp. So why waste time on a farm when you can just jump games a bunch of times for the same effect?
Maybe I’m just crazy and would rather have fun in the game rather than make it more repetitive. Maybe they shouldn’t have made the skill tree so wonky. Idk. Just some random person.
Repeat the mainquest are also a way of farming😂
