@Rad Derry We owe them a debt of gratitude.
We've all seen how the state treats veterans.

Put the vast majority of today's young men into Jack's Lancaster seat and they'd faint !!
As for Jack and all aircrew, we will Remember them, we MUST Remember them.

Every generation says that. My dad was a nav in mossies, his brother died in a Lancaster, but my grandad was in the calvary in WW1, and thought they were pussies. I was heartbroken when I failed to get into the RAF, I needed to fly Lightnings.
Why do you slag off the youngsters?

If we remembered them, Farage would not have any followers.

This is why so many veterans never spoke about The War, who would understand except those who were there?

I only found out yesterday on a similar upload that the Lancs had a major problem with fuel pumps, to the extent that they were subsequently striped out & replaced with a gravity fed system.
Guy reckons MANY planes were lost because of this fault. Penny to £ that is what happened here.
Thank you *Jack* for your service & the team for keeping the memories of these amazing men alive.

I wonder if he meant RAF Metheringham which was FIDO equipped to enable aircraft to land in foggy conditions? Coningsby didn't have FIDO. Fiskerton was also FIDO equipped and closer to Bardney than Metheringham. They could have got to either for the same fuel used circling their own base. C'est la vie.
