I’ve sacrificed my self several times for killers who didn’t do well due to being a bad map or just not doing well in general. I don’t take the game seriously enough to care if I win and as long as other survivors are at least trying I’m happy
the one type of survivor i think you forgot is the tunneling police. not the survivors that call the killer a tunneler for existing on the same map as an unhooked survivor, but the ones who will drop everything to go take hits or bodyblock the second they realize another survivor is being tunneled. most of them dont even blame the killer, they just recognize how effective a strategy it but dont like how it ruins one survivors fun. i almost always see them on steve or jeff, with the occasional dwight or ash too
I think any decent survivor would body block a killer who is tunneling one survivor. I main Mask Meg and I do that all the time. It sucks to be tunneled. So I would do everything I can to distract the killer to get them to chase me than the one that is tunneled.

16:50 As an achievement hunter who is currently at 100% and waiting for new ones to get, I can say that the outbreak breakout achievement was one of the worst if not the worst achievement as a Solo. I played 43 RPD games in 2 days. I literally could not see this map anymore. But at least I know every corner now
They need to fix a couple because I should have gotten two and I haven't. The one where you go in empty handed, get an item and escape the match with it. And last night I wastrying to kill myself on a hook but randomly actually unhooked and was eventually able to escape. Neither of these achievements popped. Sorry, just had to gripe I guess lol

I’m a mix of wild card, achievement hunter, BP hound, and killer main doing survivor challenges. I have specific builds created to optimize my chances of getting my challenges / daily rituals done in one go. At the same time, my ability to actually loop depends a lot on how recently I’ve eaten and the cycles of the moon
My friends and I absolutely fit into the True SWF category. We play together to have fun and don’t care if we live or die. I’m glad that you covered that, because people who play the game with pals not to sweat it out and to just meme together do exist! For my personal playstyle, I think I fit into The Wildcard, The BP Hoarder, and to a small degree “The Survivor Main.” Really funny video, good job man
Same. My wife and sister-in-law join me and we just goof around with weird builds and help each other complete tome challenges, and occasionally give the killer free kills if they were obviously new. It's the only way to live, man! Or, uh, die I guess?
Honestly being a killer main to becoming a survivor player is definitely something I would recommend as not only are you not sad and lonely anymore because of survive with friends but you can understand the killers and use that to manipulate them.
There is a type of survivor that I call. The spare wheel: He is that survivor who has a balanced build, ready to supply whatever his team (usually in SoloQ) lacks in a game to try to tip the scales in everyone's favor.
You forgot the “Comrade”. This type of player is from Eastern Europe and doesn’t think through any plans and will usually just do what they feel is right. Even though usually it lands them on the hook. They can be differentiated from the Noobs because when you try to explain to them the mistakes they made they will make a vague reference to 1980s Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and then block you.
100% accurate for booners, I haven't taken circle of healing out of my build since I got mikaela and I annoy the hell out of killers by constantly booning, one time I drove a ghost face insane with it 😅
I once had a game against a team with 3 people who had boons, put up about 15+ boons just between 2 of them instead of doing gens and I can confirm I almost lost my mind 😂
there is a sub-species of blendettes without the immersion, these usually are the last ones to survive purely because of the fact they vanish 10 seconds before the killer shows up, if you see a claud get up and leave while doing a gen make sure you too walk away before the killer comes around.
That one time I was a cleanser for like 3 matches in a row is because I was completing Archive challenges, and now I know how every Nancy main feels when they see a booner.
As someone who used to main bird lady. I can relate that most toxic survivors dc during the match. My build was Devour of hope, Undying, Pentimento, and Haunted ground. And a few times happened that I was about to hit a survivor and the Haunted ground just got cleansed in that moment. LoL
It was the "dancing peacock in mating season" that made me laugh because I had the video playing in the background getting dressed and it was so out of the blue that I couldn't help it.
i propose a new type of survivor: quentin mains. quentin mains are very loud about the fact that they love quentin, always spam "quentin cosmetics when", write thousands of pages of fanfiction, and are very excited when they see another quentin in a lobby. i am a proud quentin main
Don't know how this fits into any of the definitions you've given, but there is a really annoying kind of player that I keep meeting. It usually goes like this: - Me and others are repairing a gen; - This player sees us, but decides to move on to do something else, maybe another gen; - The killer finds them; - They run back in our direction, forcing us to leave the gen and run from the killer. And that's when I decide to root for the killer.
I like that there's no "Hey everyone", "Hi there" sort of introductions and you're coming straight to the topic. I would say this is your trademark, because almost every single youtuber has some sort of stale and just annoying introductions. Keep up the good work!
Took a long time to make this video only because I really dislike playing as a survivor to record. With Killer I can’t get tunneled or camped, and also any problem I do, it only hurts myself not the entire team. It was painful to play as someone oblivious with Meg or Bill lmao
Mix between alterism and wildcard. 1 match I'll get downed in no time, other times I'll run the killer and outsmart them for days. There is NO in between with me. But man, I will always choose death if I can get 1 dude out.

When I play im just a totom hunter. As a jill main it is my duty to find all 5 totoms before all gens are done, why u may ask, 2 reasons. 1,to prevent noed. And 2, for the tasty blood points

i'm mainly a saboteur. it's true we're a dying species, we just get tunneled out after saboing 1 hook and running breakdown (((: as a totem cleanser, i don't even run inner healing or perks that benefit breaking bones. I just want to break them. they call to me like a siren song. my booner friends always scream at me to leave bones alone when i'm with them :( also being a high prestige quentin, i'm not scary i promise. stop dodging me :( ... >:)
Definitely a totem cleanser, but with a caveat; if it takes too long to find a totem, I don't waste time and I continue to do gens.... Because Detective's hunch will find the totem auras after it's done. Inner Strength Counterforce Detective's Hunch Head On My favorite combo

Counterforce helps find totems by virtue of snowballing the cleansing process, and detective's hunch encourages you to do gens to find totems; once a gen is completed (by anyone) object auras appear- gens, boxes, and most importantly, totems. Those auras have come in clutch so often when I'm stuck. Hope this helps.

Survivalist - Last time I played, the Spirit was the newest killer (I started the game when it first came out). She had an add-on that made her phase-walk completely soundless. A Spirit pulled me off of a generator and camped the hook until I died. Last game I ever played. Realized I could have used the Spine Chill perk, but opted to enjoy Dead By Daylight viewer as the gameplay's addictive nature was becoming problematic. Anyway, I did discover a youtuber by the name of Naymeti that showed me how I could have greeded pallets to waste the killer's time better, but I never cared about part of the game anyway. Finishing the generators and getting out was all I ever cared about. I always tried to hit the problematic generators at the beginning of a match to prevent the worst 3-gen scenarios. While I occasionally had a game when dying didn't bother me due to in-game performance, I typically was happier escaping with 9,000 points than dying with 20,000 points.
Plunderers are some of the most iconic players since 2016! Back in the ol days getting a key and being able to have your entire team escape was a really cool feeling 😁
I immediately identified with "Killer Main doing Survivor Rift Challenges" but I think I'm blossoming into a "Wild card." I'm either completely useless or I've gotten 3 gens, 2 unhooks, 2-4 heals, and escape without being hooked. It's either MVP or participation trophy with no in-between.
Definitely killer doing survivor challenges. Best part is: despite knowing how to counter routes and strategies when I play killer, I simply suck at survivor.
Altruist is so accurate. I love to run for the people, we’re gonna live forever, vigil, and iron will. I’ll sacrifice myself just so my team can escape 😂
I'm the kind of survivor that uses stake out, hyperfocus, fogwise, and deja vu. When I see stake out begin to fill, i'll try to see where the killer is coming from and go from there. If I can't, i'll instinctively get off the gen and walk to a good corner or rock to stand/crouch behind. If no object of that sort is nearby, i'll find a locker that isnt the closest one to the gen. Once the killer sees no one is there, if they attempt to search for me, i'll just keep building stake out. They have no clue as to where I went or how long it's been since I've touched the gen, so they have no reason to look behind every rock or search every locker. Once they're gone, i'll finish the gen, calmly walk away with my 4 charges of stake out for the next gen, while searching for the killer if they decide to investigate the completed gen, and only then will I actually run. I've been accused of hacks plenty of times because most killers can't find me no matter what they try to do. Ofc my Achilles Heel is indoor maps, but that applies to everyone to be fair.
14:11 I had some great moments with Bite the Bullet yesterday. One match I was selfcaring behind a small tree near the exit in order to not make noise and set myself up for a flashlight save. Huntress walked past me and was certain no one was near, especially since I was an injured Bill which can literally be heard across the map. Got the save and both of us got out. The other game I had a medkit and was facing a spirit who kept losing me due to my perk. Resulting in me healing twice that chase and having 4 gens pop. She was also good sports and did not facecamp me or anything. Love the perk
Wildcard. Some games I will loop a killer for 5 gens and some I die in 1 second. I don't have any super crazy bright cosmetics and not a crazy high prestige. Highest prestige is 3 so you have it about right.
I can say I am a main survivalist but maximized BP hoarder when possible (a tiny bit altruistic because of the unhooks). I tried to be a toxic a hole looper at first, used the small tiny girl characters, and tried to enhance my mind game skills. But I noticed a lot of exploding or untouched generators around me like 80 percent of the time. It's frustrating enough so I switched to the underused bulky male characters whose unlock perks allows me to hide and detect gens, finish them fast, find totems, detect survivors or killers, locate freebies, etc. I just finish the generators fast, hide or run at the first sound of heartbeat, and I can say I've been surviving a lot of my games. If an opp to save arrives for more BP, I always go for it. But when a killer do find and chases me, I am totally effed like 90 percent of the time. But yeah, generator pressure and unhooks are key for starters like me.
I'm a combination of a few here. I mostly play Killer, but if I'm playing Survivor, I do it for Achievements & Tomes Challenges; so, I have no problem taking 1 for the team or running the killer as far away from my teammates so that they have a chance to do gens and get out. Otherwise, it's kind-of rare for me to escape; but I try to have fun where I can. Sometimes, I wouldn't even mind giving a Killer a kill at endgame; like if they played well or if they bring a Mori. Recently I went against a new Myers who was trying to get the Tomestone Achievement. He got 2 ppl, but I opened the door for the last Survivor. Because of how hard the Achievement is, I was going to let him mori me; but not at the cost of everyone else on the team
Depends on the match up mostly, but I like to think I'm closest to The Altruist. In multiplayer games, I love playing healer. So in DBD, I try to take one for the team anytime that option is even a little beneficial for my allies. Besides, I love leading killers on long chases. Trying to outwit them is thrilling, and buying the time for gen work feels like a good contribution.
I've been all of these at one point or another, currently loving being a trickster, throwing a pebble is absolutely the most fun perk to run, current build is lucky break, bite the bullet, overcome, diversion. 90% escape rate with a medkit extremely effective at disappearing. Not exactly the best as it doesn't waste a ton of the killers time but the confusion is the best.
God I think I'm somewhere between the fashionista and wildcard, I love having my survivors dressed up because customization is one of my favorite things in games, so if I have the cells for it I buy cosmetics. I also hate linked sets with a passion and every time they're added I cry just a bit, mix matching is so fun. I'll have games were I'm doing awful at chases and can barely get on a gen because I'm so paranoid about going down, meanwhile yesterday I ran a tunneling huntress around the last two gens, I died but it's okay because the two babies got out I'm pretty sure.
Had a sandbagger leon in my game the other day. It was agony, staring into the abyss as he t-bagged me to oblivion. I had to wait so long for the killer to come attack us
I guess I would fall under the wild card? Even I don't know how well I'm going to do in a match until I either pull off some bullshit or die 2 seconds into the game because I walked face first into the killer 30 times. I'd say my SWF is the True SWF. We're doing our best, but we mostly just want to have fun.
Im like an Altruistic Wildcard. Some games, I go down easy, others, I can loop killers like nothing. But, always, I help survivors who are injured, hooked, or having a tough time. My perks are almost always set to heal others.
what about the rats the just keep pointing out your location along with your whole team, or the killer befrienders where all they wanna be is friends with everyone and mess around
I’ve been a bunch of these over the years: the killer main doing survivor challenges, the fashionista, the saboteur, the altruistic, the cleanser (although I usually save a couple for boons) and I suppose the booner too as 95% of my builds have Circle of Healing.
This is scarily accurate. I'm definitely the True SWF as me and my friends always play with a No Mither build (yet we still win a surprisingly high amount of matches)

I am another type i like to call "the Goal Hunter" Completely focused on archive or daily, ready to leave if it benefits the progress, only helps if its for a quest. And recently, i encountered another type. The traitor. Will readily sell you out to the Killer, actively guiding the killer to your hiding spots, and when you're on the hook, they run up to you, teabag you and leave

as the totem cleanser i can't tell you how unfathomably angry i get when i clear 4 totems and can't do the 5th cause someone booned it and then i go down and get left behind because the killer has noed, and no one even used the boon the whole match
True SWF here. It’s only 3 of us but the majority of the time we just play to have fun. A couple nights ago I was playing with the bois against a ghost face on Midwhich who downed my friend with Devour Hope right as I turned a corner and saw him do it. He looked at my downed friend and then back at me. I looked at my downed friend and looked back at him. He teabagged, I teabagged and then started running to the courtyard. My downed friend goes “no man I think he’s friendly, come pick me up.” And I proceed to get instant downed because Ghostie stabbed me. The whole interaction was honestly so funny that I couldn’t be mad xD

The background players Desc: they prefer working alone, you almost never seen them in the match even the killers are having a bad time tracking them. They'll be the last survivor that haven't been hooked for the entire match.

Imagine you are doing a gen almost about to complete it then out of nowhere a fellow survivor is being chased, instead of leading the killer away from you they decide what better way to be an ass hole then to lead the killer straight to you and now the killer is chasing you. Had a match like that yesterday dude ran to me while the killer was chasing him and then I got hit = Gen progress went down a lot
You forgot the Sacrifice one I believe! 😅 I'm a mix of Atruistic and Sacrifice... I don't care much if I escape, if I had at least helped one or 2 of my teammates to escape. Even when all gens are done and gates are open, if I see one of my teammates being chased, I'll do anything to lead them to the exit safely and escape, even if I end in a hook. It's actually more satisfying than escaping and seeing how one of my teammates die abandoned
I am both "The Altruist" and "The Wildcard". My playstyle is a mix of stealth (so that I don't get caught first because that means I don't have as much time for altruism) and altruism. Some games I can suddenly tap in to my full power, other games I'm weirdly underperforming

I'm a Thirsty Wildcard. It only applies to David though. I like him, so I use his default outfit as to not get distracted.

Don't know how this fits into any of the definitions you've given, but there is a really annoying kind of player that I keep meeting.
It usually goes like this:
- Me and others are repairing a gen;
- This player sees us, but decides to move on to do something else, maybe another gen;
- The killer finds them;
- They run back in our direction, forcing us to leave the gen and run from the killer.
And that's when I decide to root for the killer.
I like that there's no "Hey everyone", "Hi there" sort of introductions and you're coming straight to the topic. I would say this is your trademark, because almost every single youtuber has some sort of stale and just annoying introductions. Keep up the good work!

Took a long time to make this video only because I really dislike playing as a survivor to record. With Killer I can’t get tunneled or camped, and also any problem I do, it only hurts myself not the entire team. It was painful to play as someone oblivious with Meg or Bill lmao
Mix between alterism and wildcard. 1 match I'll get downed in no time, other times I'll run the killer and outsmart them for days. There is NO in between with me. But man, I will always choose death if I can get 1 dude out.

When I play im just a totom hunter. As a jill main it is my duty to find all 5 totoms before all gens are done, why u may ask, 2 reasons. 1,to prevent noed. And 2, for the tasty blood points

i'm mainly a saboteur. it's true we're a dying species, we just get tunneled out after saboing 1 hook and running breakdown (((: as a totem cleanser, i don't even run inner healing or perks that benefit breaking bones. I just want to break them. they call to me like a siren song. my booner friends always scream at me to leave bones alone when i'm with them :(

Definitely a totem cleanser, but with a caveat; if it takes too long to find a totem, I don't waste time and I continue to do gens.... Because Detective's hunch will find the totem auras after it's done.

@@mirahb.9713 Small Game is useless as far as I'm concerned and just confuses me too. Counterforce helps find totems by virtue of snowballing the cleansing process, and detective's hunch encourages you to do gens to find totems;
once a gen is completed (by anyone) object auras appear- gens, boxes, and most importantly, totems. Those auras have come in clutch so often when I'm stuck. Hope this helps.

Survivalist - Last time I played, the Spirit was the newest killer (I started the game when it first came out). She had an add-on that made her phase-walk completely soundless. A Spirit pulled me off of a generator and camped the hook until I died. Last game I ever played. Realized I could have used the Spine Chill perk, but opted to enjoy Dead By Daylight viewer as the gameplay's addictive nature was becoming problematic. Anyway, I did discover a youtuber by the name of Naymeti that showed me how I could have greeded pallets to waste the killer's time better, but I never cared about part of the game anyway. Finishing the generators and getting out was all I ever cared about. I always tried to hit the problematic generators at the beginning of a match to prevent the worst 3-gen scenarios. While I occasionally had a game when dying didn't bother me due to in-game performance, I typically was happier escaping with 9,000 points than dying with 20,000 points.

Plunderers are some of the most iconic players since 2016! Back in the ol days getting a key and being able to have your entire team escape was a really cool feeling 😁

I immediately identified with "Killer Main doing Survivor Rift Challenges" but I think I'm blossoming into a "Wild card."
I'm either completely useless or I've gotten 3 gens, 2 unhooks, 2-4 heals, and escape without being hooked. It's either MVP or participation trophy with no in-between.

Definitely killer doing survivor challenges. Best part is: despite knowing how to counter routes and strategies when I play killer, I simply suck at survivor.
Altruist is so accurate. I love to run for the people, we’re gonna live forever, vigil, and iron will. I’ll sacrifice myself just so my team can escape 😂
I'm the kind of survivor that uses stake out, hyperfocus, fogwise, and deja vu. When I see stake out begin to fill, i'll try to see where the killer is coming from and go from there. If I can't, i'll instinctively get off the gen and walk to a good corner or rock to stand/crouch behind. If no object of that sort is nearby, i'll find a locker that isnt the closest one to the gen. Once the killer sees no one is there, if they attempt to search for me, i'll just keep building stake out. They have no clue as to where I went or how long it's been since I've touched the gen, so they have no reason to look behind every rock or search every locker. Once they're gone, i'll finish the gen, calmly walk away with my 4 charges of stake out for the next gen, while searching for the killer if they decide to investigate the completed gen, and only then will I actually run. I've been accused of hacks plenty of times because most killers can't find me no matter what they try to do. Ofc my Achilles Heel is indoor maps, but that applies to everyone to be fair.

I had some great moments with Bite the Bullet yesterday.
One match I was selfcaring behind a small tree near the exit in order to not make noise and set myself up for a flashlight save.
Huntress walked past me and was certain no one was near, especially since I was an injured Bill which can literally be heard across the map.
Got the save and both of us got out.
The other game I had a medkit and was facing a spirit who kept losing me due to my perk. Resulting in me healing twice that chase and having 4 gens pop. She was also good sports and did not facecamp me or anything.
Love the perk
Wildcard. Some games I will loop a killer for 5 gens and some I die in 1 second. I don't have any super crazy bright cosmetics and not a crazy high prestige. Highest prestige is 3 so you have it about right.

I can say I am a main survivalist but maximized BP hoarder when possible (a tiny bit altruistic because of the unhooks). I tried to be a toxic a hole looper at first, used the small tiny girl characters, and tried to enhance my mind game skills. But I noticed a lot of exploding or untouched generators around me like 80 percent of the time. It's frustrating enough so I switched to the underused bulky male characters whose unlock perks allows me to hide and detect gens, finish them fast, find totems, detect survivors or killers, locate freebies, etc. I just finish the generators fast, hide or run at the first sound of heartbeat, and I can say I've been surviving a lot of my games. If an opp to save arrives for more BP, I always go for it. But when a killer do find and chases me, I am totally effed like 90 percent of the time. But yeah, generator pressure and unhooks are key for starters like me.
I'm a combination of a few here. I mostly play Killer, but if I'm playing Survivor, I do it for Achievements & Tomes Challenges; so, I have no problem taking 1 for the team or running the killer as far away from my teammates so that they have a chance to do gens and get out. Otherwise, it's kind-of rare for me to escape; but I try to have fun where I can.
Sometimes, I wouldn't even mind giving a Killer a kill at endgame; like if they played well or if they bring a Mori. Recently I went against a new Myers who was trying to get the Tomestone Achievement. He got 2 ppl, but I opened the door for the last Survivor. Because of how hard the Achievement is, I was going to let him mori me; but not at the cost of everyone else on the team
Depends on the match up mostly, but I like to think I'm closest to The Altruist. In multiplayer games, I love playing healer. So in DBD, I try to take one for the team anytime that option is even a little beneficial for my allies.
Besides, I love leading killers on long chases. Trying to outwit them is thrilling, and buying the time for gen work feels like a good contribution.
There is also that guy who runs the flashbang perk and leaves flashbangs everywhere so the teammates can pick them up

I've been all of these at one point or another, currently loving being a trickster, throwing a pebble is absolutely the most fun perk to run, current build is lucky break, bite the bullet, overcome, diversion. 90% escape rate with a medkit extremely effective at disappearing. Not exactly the best as it doesn't waste a ton of the killers time but the confusion is the best.

God I think I'm somewhere between the fashionista and wildcard, I love having my survivors dressed up because customization is one of my favorite things in games, so if I have the cells for it I buy cosmetics. I also hate linked sets with a passion and every time they're added I cry just a bit, mix matching is so fun.
I'll have games were I'm doing awful at chases and can barely get on a gen because I'm so paranoid about going down, meanwhile yesterday I ran a tunneling huntress around the last two gens, I died but it's okay because the two babies got out I'm pretty sure.

A couple nights ago I was playing with the bois against a ghost face on Midwhich who downed my friend with Devour Hope right as I turned a corner and saw him do it. He looked at my downed friend and then back at me. I looked at my downed friend and looked back at him. He teabagged, I teabagged and then started running to the courtyard. My downed friend goes “no man I think he’s friendly, come pick me up.” And I proceed to get instant downed because Ghostie stabbed me. The whole interaction was honestly so funny that I couldn’t be mad xD

Imagine you are doing a gen almost about to complete it then out of nowhere a fellow survivor is being chased, instead of leading the killer away from you they decide what better way to be an ass hole then to lead the killer straight to you and now the killer is chasing you. Had a match like that yesterday dude ran to me while the killer was chasing him and then I got hit = Gen progress went down a lot

I'm a mix of Atruistic and Sacrifice... I don't care much if I escape, if I had at least helped one or 2 of my teammates to escape.
Even when all gens are done and gates are open, if I see one of my teammates being chased, I'll do anything to lead them to the exit safely and escape, even if I end in a hook. It's actually more satisfying than escaping and seeing how one of my teammates die abandoned
