What's amazing is how one can have all these different functions going on simultaneously (e.g., playing while reading and answering questions). Those neurons are on fire.
Earlier today I downloaded Clone Hero onto a school computer. The supply teacher wasn’t exactly focused on whether or not we were playing games, so I downloaded a single song to play. Soulless 4. (All taps in order to not get steamrolled entirely.) I couldn’t just pick up the keyboard (he would’ve caught onto that 100%) so I did it with the keyboard in resting position. Somehow, I got 42% despite having been away from Clone Hero for about five months. Neato. Nice video, Alec.
Holy shit, this is incredible. I've been playing CH on a keyboard in this exact same way for maybe 6 months, and this is definitely a motivation 'cause it proves you can still do really bloody well even on a keyboard if you practice enough
a fun time for you is a sad reality for so many. most ch players are on keyboard since it blew the fuck up. gotta get that official ch guitar going lol.
Bro I downloaded clone hero last night on my pc, didnt have a guitar, tried to use an xbox controller, and it was awful it took me like 30 minutes of fucking around with the keyboard on the desk before i thouhgt of picking it up and rempapping the keys to this. GAME CHANGER lmao
Kieran Kaempen Same, my Razer Deathstalker has very low-profile keys, so it’s easy to do hammerons and other neat tricks. I’m pretty much better on a keyboard than an actual GH guitar lol
I remember there was a browser based online guitar hero type game that recommended you play with your keyboard like this. It wasn't frets on fire or a flash based game, it was online with leaderboards and everything. Somewhere between 07 and 2010 but I can't quite remember when.
I like the greenscreen keyboard effect, makes me excited for the day when a company makes a keyboard with an LED panel base, instead of just singular leds.
I feel like whenever you play with your keyboard, someone asks what it is, then there's a debate and talk about what keyboard brand is better. But that's just me.
I cant even play this shit with a guitar on easy mode, yet you're able to do this hardcore stuff with a damn keyboard. Congratulations Acai, you've been granted a god tier title.
Back in 2011 there used to be this online game called Jam Legend that was basically Guitar Hero for the PC, where you would use the keyboard exactly the way you saw here. Needless to say I spent way too much time in the public library looking like this, much to the disbelief of anyone who witnessed it.
Why is that? Most keyboards have Cherry MX Switches, like Corsair. Some have similar ones *cough* copies *cough*, and they might be sligthly less reliable. And nowdays Razer and Logitech has their own switches, Razer seems to hold up well, dunno about logitech, havent got to use one
I hated using my keyboard. If you were holding Blue and Orange, you couldn't hold the other three keys. I now have an X-plorer and a "Nintendo Wii World Tour Guitar"
Don’t know if you still wanna know but it’s when there are brighter notes after a regular notes. They are called hammer ones and replicate the real life hammer on technique where you just hard tap on the fret to make a sound. Basically the extra brights can be tapped only after you strum the regular note before the hammer-on sections.
I'm legit looking for tips on making this fun/playable for keyboard because my guitar finally took a shit on me and I've went to every good will/resale store for a 40 mile radius with no luck. I've literally switched to using my right hand on all taps because it's a laptop keyboard so I can't hold it right and i'm just so bummed... If anyone has any tips for key layouts let me know id really appreciate it.
I can't afford a guitar controller, so I play with keyboard like you did in this video. Do you think it's harder with the keyboard? My hand quickly gets tired but probably because of such an awkward hand position and the keyboard is kinda heavy too
it's basically the combination of blue(which has a tactile and clicky feedback)and black (which has a heavier actuation force) red is more preferable for rythm games because it has a very light actuation force so it requires less stamina there are a lot more switches but these are the most used and well known switches in the market
bro I play clone hero on a keyboard like with 12345 for the colors and when I press the last 3 it doesn't work and I see in your gameplay press the last 3 and work, why is that???
This is exactly how I play, with my the exact same keyboard using F1-F5 as the note and the up and down arrow as the strum and I've gotten so used to it and I could very possibly beat you if it was keyboard vs keyboard
i tried to do f1-f5 but my keyboard has the function keys FUCKING THIN with shitty switches, so i have to resort to using the number keys (not numpad), which sux :(

The clicks are just...MMH! Amazing.

It looks especially dope since the Chroma setting is the one whenever you click a key it sends a surge out from that key

Just so you all know, Corsair keyboards are not good if you play a lot of rhythm games. Their keys start to overhit a lot after a lot of abuse.
depends on the model actually
Why is that? Most keyboards have Cherry MX Switches, like Corsair. Some have similar ones *cough* copies *cough*, and they might be sligthly less reliable. And nowdays Razer and Logitech has their own switches, Razer seems to hold up well, dunno about logitech, havent got to use one
Romer G switches, they aren't up to Cherry standards, and they only exist for more even backlighting, which it doesn't even fully achieve.
kshrubb ive been using a Corsair keyboard for like 2 and a half years
kshrubb that's completely false, and it sounds like you have a faulty keyboard.

They're just HOPOs.
So basically Tap Notes but the difference with Taps and HOPOs is that HOPOs need to be strummed once you miss them.
