Out of all the kayaks i've watched so far, this one beats them all, price, size, weight, built in wheel, when the drive is down super stable no water splashing in when you hit 4mph, stability, etc. I'm sold.
You hit the mail on the head around halfway through the video when describing the Moken 10 PDL. “Easy” to transport to the water and “simple” to setup. Stable enough to stand. All for “not too much money”. That’s the point of this kayak. Which is why I own two. Nice, fair review Alex.
How many tackle boxes can you fit underneath the seat? Please respond because of debating whether to get the 10 ft or the 12 and 1/2 ft. Thank you. Keep up the great work on the videos!
the seat is the same size under both the 10 or 12, you may have a bit more deck space on the 12, i was able to one 3700 size under each side of the seat, it was a strap in the middle holding the seat down
Thanks for this video. Do you know the length of the track rails? I’m interested in this kayak. I’m trying to find out the length so I can figure out what and how many attachments I can put on it. Thanks
Awesome on water review Aliex. I do love the feel free kayaks, but I love my storage hatches. But that's a nice inshore boat, with the Bixpy J2, probably PP-768. 😎 🎣 🛶 🌊
You say 230 pounds or less for a 10 foot kayak. What would you recommend for a 265 pound short guy? I found the native slayer propel 10 tended to be too sluggish and uncomfortable for my knees when peddling practically hitting my chest every time I went around. I also owned the Hobie outback for a season or two and found a little more comfort for peddling, but when I had to pull the reverse cable, it was a pain in the butt and trying to grab anything under the seat was almost impossible to reach. I have been looking at pro angler’s, but the price and my wife saying no stops me every time. Lol. If I stepped up to a Hobie, pro angler 12 or 14, I would definitely need a trailer to haul it around because my back is in no shape for lifting to car top on my minivan.
okay..... so I appreciate this review. I would say that I did primarily base my decision on Aliex's feedback here. I have since ordered and have fished my Moken pdl daily for a few weeks. I'm happy, but there are big tradeoffs. first off, the seat is far too low. the base is well below the crank pivot point. this caused me knee pain immediately. I have ordered the only seat riser option i'm aware of from Dave Bliss. I have been sitting on a throwable floatation pad for the time being. second, I'm 5'9". I have the seat back installed all the way forward. I have the seat positioned all the way forward. with the seat very far forward, my downstroke knee is stretched out to a comfortable amount. unfortunately, this causes my upstroke knee to nearly hit my chest. so close that it's extremely difficult to pedal and fish at the same time. the cranks are MUCH MUCH too long imo. if you're short, you are going to have a very very uncomfortable seating position. this boat is made for tall people. The square taper size is proprietary and Feelfree has confirmed they do not have other length crank arms available. I'm still looking for an aftermarket set that will fit, but so far no luck. lastly, with needing to have the seat so far forward, there's almost no room to stand in front of it. btw, paddling without the pedal drive... yeah right. it's awful. absolutely awful. my $250 dicks lifetime kayak paddles SO SO much better. again... tradeoffs.
I bought a 3d printed seat riser kit from a seller advertised on another video here on YT. It helped a little. Overall, I’m very disappointed and would not recommend the moken10. Should have gone for a Hobie.
I bought one in March. I would have to disagree with you. There are many areas this kayak falls short but the most important and reason I bought this budget pedal is the pedal drive. It's terrible, loud and clunky. I would not recommend this kayak and regret my purchase. I will have to wait and see if feel free comes out with an upgraded pedal drive for this kayak.
If you do have any kind of noise, all you have to do is tighten up the chain with a screw in the front of the chain or loosen it up .if that doesn’t work get a hold of Feelfree they’re replace the drive for free for you.
No mention about the drive unit popping complete out of the well. Easy to recover in soft, calm water but might be a total disaster in small surf or windy conditions. That needs to be addressed!! No such animal as a perfect kayak!!!
The noisey pedal drive does not get better. This thing stays loud all the time. And if its a cool morning, you could wale up the neighbors with this thing. I am very disappointed with how loud this thing is.

it is a great value for sure
Just bought one 2 months ago absolutely love it!!! Pedal drive was very tight at first now like butter and makes less noise
Yup that's what they told me
Gotta show unloading and loading to give everyone the whole idea of owning a kayak keep up the good work and have fun years of watching your videos
Looking forward to the 10 foot kayak comparison video

Another great review, you really cover all the bases. I love this kayak, pedal, paddle, stand, and reverse for the

Given the prices of the other companies, $1400. isn't bad for a pedal Kayak. :)
Yup

If you lean into the turn, a much sharper turn radius. Give it a try
yeah, but im testing it as a nornal person would
I use a sling bag on a light day everything fits & the cooler has ice that's all I bring unless your talking about a dry bag .
I have something like that, a little plastic fishing bag, grab and go easy
That Moken is right up there with that Seastream . I think the seatream is a little more sturdy.
I got the seastream angler as well, should be close enough same family

Did you figure any of the above issues out?

@@ericmyers1306 Thank you! The nucanoe unlimited is on my list, trying to force myself to buy once cry once!
Hoping the Native TitanX will be at icast.
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Nice one dude
Does the drive system make a lot of noise since it's a chain driven?
noise feel on part with other drives, it is less noisy than their overdrive option
I’d take a old school outback with a v1 drive before I got any feel free kayak.
Hobies crack
Do you still have this kayak? If so what options do you have to get it motorized ?
bixpy in the rudder, easy
Can u show u strapping it in your truck one day it would help me I know
I really need to make that video I'll do it soon
@@AliexFolgueira thank you sir it’s gonna be the deciding factor if I buy the moken 10 or not😂
what is that app you are using in the video
Boating by Navionics, it isnt free
