The first voice on the score is the Stephen Stills voice, the second is the David Crosby's, the third is the Graham Nash's voice, that's great, it's very precise, with this any trio can sing this song in the right way, well done very good tutorial...
I just knew deep down that someone had taken the time to do a vocal tutorial for this classic piece of American music. Thank you for being the trio who felt the need and the inspiration to create such a tutorial and share it with those of us who feel the need to try to recreate this masterpiece whether it be for a public performance or simply a personal project or vocal experimentation. Thank you 🙏
Oh my goodness !!! THANKS so much !!! You made me cry !!! This is one of the most beautiful song of the entire rock-folk history...and now i'll try to sing it!!!
This is amazing -- thank you! Note to listeners, this is a half step down from the original. You'll need to tune your guitar down to Eb standard to play along.
Should you be interested, I can also send you an mp3 with one of the voices muted, so that you can practice the harmony yourself. Just leave sn email address and I'll send it to you. If you just want the guitar part, no problem! Send an email to partituurbob@gmail.com
Thank you for this help. I used it a bit to make a cover of this song. It's a lot of work and you did it perfectly. Have a nice day. Musical friendships from France.. Thierry 🍀🐞🎵🎶
Wow..this is sooo helpful and so much fun to sing and play. I could never figure out how to play my guitar and sing and harmonize like so many on youtube do.. But I was able to play second harmony on my computer and along the first harmony..and play on my cell .. I have to say whoever she is makes me sound much better than I am! Beautiful voices. Thank you!
Hi! I'm from Brazil. I love this song I was looking for this division of vocals to make a recording. I will use your work as support, it turned out amazing. Congratulations and thank you very much.
Thank you very much for this amazing work ,so usefull for learning , excuse my bad english , i write you from corcica island (france) .as you said , should you send me MP3 of the second harmony ? That would be great , thank a lot yet
hi, amazing and very helpful ! We are a women folk Trio from Germany and would really like to get the pdf and mp3 from this beautiful song. You did it great ! Do you mind to change contact ? best regards ,Katy
Really enjoying learning this song (finally) with your help! I'd love pdfs of the different parts --- any chance you can include a link to a dropbox, or drive folder for download access? (I'm afraid if I post my email I will spend the rest of my life communicating only with bots!!)
Thanks so much for taking the time to provide this, Gern! I'd like PDFs of the scores if you're willing. Don't need a backing track. Is there a way for me to send you my email address privately?
Would've been nice to know that this was tuned to something like F# and A HALF. before I recorded your version as best as I could. Now I have to tune my guitar to F# and a half and using Melodyne, push the notes I missed somewhere in between flat and sharp. You could've mentioned that above.
After recording the parts you can speed it up a bit to get it in tune with your guitar. We recorded it a bit slower on a tape machine and played it faster to get ‘snappier’ vocals. But of course the result is that it out of tune. By the way, CSN use the same trick.
@@100procentbob I was thinking last night that I can just push each of my vocal tracks in total to Am in Melodyne and then fix my less than stellar vocals misses individually from there. Yay Melodyne. If that doesn't work, I'll use your suggestion. (I need it to be in tune with the record because I also have to use TH-cam videos to learn the guitar part- I'm nowhere near as talented as you 3)
We play it in Am too when we play it live. For this recording we experimented with the variospeed to get the vocals more tight. So we recorded it slower (lower pitch) and played it back faster. To keep the sound natural we ended a bit lower than Am.
It’s worse, we tuned it down and recorded the vocals. Then we increased the tape speed to make it sound more compact. As a result the tuning is less than a step down.
The first voice on the score is the Stephen Stills voice, the second is the David Crosby's, the third is the Graham Nash's voice, that's great, it's very precise, with this any trio can sing this song in the right way, well done very good tutorial...
0:16 - lead vocal
2:45 - first harmony
5:28 - second harmony
8:18 - Helplessly Hoping
Thanks for the video! Very helpful

pls email to partituurbob@gmail.com
Hi! What's with the tuning..? My brain gets confused while singing with this..😅
We recorded with a slightly reduced tape speed and then speeded it up to get the vocals tighter. So it’s not in pitch.

harlequin - ˈhärləkwən (OK, CSN sings härlə KIN so I'll let that one pass {sigh}).🙂
