    Late this morning because I’ve been in my yard since 6 am! Congratulations to the winners! Lucky kids! 👍🏼💝 Your garden is filling in beautifully! Your videos are inspiring me to get more organized. Spring Color really inspires!
    Today, took out Calendulas, Angel wing begonias, evolulus, redid a succulent tapestry, planted montbrecia bulbs. Off to buy gardenias to plant in the front entry.
    Have a wonderful day,,Gardeners! 🌱

    I found a "home remedy" for rabbits. Using Irish Spring soap, cut it into 1.5 to 2" cubes. Put a cube or two in a scrap piece of fabric (the toe of an old sock works great). Tie up the top and attach it strategically to your garden fence around the perimeter. The rabbits don't like the smell and they stay away. It's worked in my garden for years. It also deters the deer. The soap lasts the entire season and don't need replacing until the following Spring.

    I just want you to know how lucky you are. Not only is it colder than normal here in Columbus, OH, we also can't even plant our plants right after Mother's Day. It is a bummer. However, I'm grateful to see all the flowers on your show. Thank you so much.

    You're the man, Jim! I was taking a walk this week on the shores of Lake Huron here in Michigan, and all of a sudden a super strong scent hit me, and I see this 8ft bush blooming. I had no idea what it was, but with the strong winds I could smell it from 15 feet away as if my nose was in it. It must be Viburnum...Great as always, my man!

    New to your channel and a new homeowner as well. I've got one side of my backyard that is chain link and the cost of lumber is outrageous so I decided to plant shade plants. You inspired me with my choices. Your yard is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    I'm addicted to you TH-cam channel. My "2021 yard budget" has been blown out of the water as a result but I'm having fun planning out pollinator beds as a border on my tiny lot. I really need help with what grows well in poor sandy soil down here in the Sandhills (zone 8).

    This is amazing. More drone pictures, please. Those little pansies sure make a statement all grouped together. Now a question. Do you have every thing planned out? where you're going to put a particular annual? Or are you like most of us who buy the plants and then figure out where to put them.

    Thanks for the inspiration. I see lots of garden designers with big gardens planting in masses with waves of the same plant. But I have a small garden and my design is based on the “it was on sale at the end of season so I found a spot for it” approach. I know you have a logical method to your purchases and placements, but I might just start saying I’m a plant collector like Jim Putnam.

    Does the pink clematis on the front fence have a name? I adore clems.

  • @GinaCriv
    @GinaCriv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love how you planted that clematis between those boulders. When you said that was your plan, I couldn't imagine it; looks great without the need for a finicky trellis. Your garden is delightful without being fussy. Question: do your agapanthus bloom all summer? I have two blue (would love more), but I seem to only get a short bloom time here in coastal Virginia Beach. Thanks.

    I am going to plan SO MANY MORE pansies in my garden next year. How do you keep voles from destroying your plant roots? I lost some perennial salvia, a weigela, and a butterfly bush to the voles, and I am trying to save 2 chindo viburnums from severe root damage. Thanks, Jim!

    I set up irrigation for the first time ( using one of your videos 👍), it runs beautifully however it continues to run when it's suppose to be off. I have to manually shut it off, any ideas what could be causing this? I have an orbit timer.

    With having a larger lot, have you ever considered planting more in mass? In some videos, it seems as if items are spread so far apart rather than larger drifts for bigger moments.

    Zone 9a, TX Gulf Coast area. I have 2 Ruby Slippers Oakleaf hydrangeas. I planted them last year in dappled shade. They have put on lots of beautiful new growth and look good, but no blooms forming. Could it be they arent getting enough sun? I was nervous to plant them in more sun because our summer sun is brutal.
