I never leave comments on anything so when I do it's because I feel that strongly. Been playing guitar since I was 13 and been in and out of bands for quite awhile. So I know a thing or two. Let me just say it's just A BREATHE OF FRESH AIR to not only see such skill and technique but ORIGINALITY. Keep it going because you have something special and it's second to none. Someone said it reminds them of like the soundtrack to a horror movie. Absolutely it does and in the best way possible. Keep kickin out the jams and me and so many more will keep eating them up.
BeastMode Overseer Don't get me wrong, Jason is an amazing guitarist, but from what I've heard of him, he just shreds really really fast which is kind of boring. I'd say this guy is better because of the super awesome catchy riffs and all the techniques and stuff
Jason's technical ability is absolutely inhuman... but I don't care for the 8 minute songs of pure shred over top of synth. I like his riffs more than his licks. His work with BOO was awesome.. just can't get into the solo stuff. That being said, it's absolutely insane musicianship.
Reflections last album without you is great but wait, dont get me wrong cuz I really love all reflections material, what Im trying to explain is the fact that after you left that band we're all winners, we've got more music cuz berried Alive is fucKING INSANE!!!!! also the color clear so yeah, disband what you want but never stop making music! keep it up Charles!
Dude I'm seriously sharing this to my FB groups. The fact that this guy is still relatively unknown absolutely BOGGLES my friggin mind. The shit is straight extra terrestrial bro...
hey charles! I really like your new songs ! I would like to see a video of you playing a part of this song (live guitar, not prerecorded)....I'd like to see the part from 3:05 to 3:45 !! please :)
Dude I'm a death metal guitarist and I am seriously abput to throw my gear in the trash after watching these vids. Your groove is so amazing it makes me want to quit ugghh
I've been playing guitar for a couple years now, but I can't even fathom what you must've practiced in your regimen to get to this point. Any hints or tips?
fuckyeah! I really love your approach to music. I wonder how you keep coming up with that brutality, like what inspires you and how you start writing on a song like this. Preordered the physical copy and also bought all yo stuff! I am really looking forward to this album!
Thank you dude! I just jam and get ideas along with it then i start recording man. Some ideas take a while to work out but I just keep pushing through it until the song is done the way I wanted.
the real challenge question is this: Do you have the skill to compliment and enhace and continue the story and progression of whatever it is you have created? Thats the real test. This guy blows my mind with his ability to do that. If you see this Charles, you blow my mind with your abilit yto do that you're skilled. Good jon. Job*
Serious question, are there any other guitarists like Caswell who just come up with these ridiculous experiments? It's so odd but so fucking sick, never heard anything like it.
try to replicate certain styles, during that process u will find different ways to modify it to make it sound more "neat". After doing that 50 times you will have mutated the style you were replicating in to something unique that u can then use to make your own songs that will be associated with you rather than the original. For example, let's say you want to replicate megadeth's "fatal illusion". You would basically just copy the structure (ominous intro followed by dissonant guitar followed by a bass solo and then a thrash part, and so on). Along the way you might think, "what if i switched up the drums in the second half of this thrash part so that they play in half time instead, and then do a sick fill leading in to the verse). Then you might start adding random chromatic licks through the song as "ear candy" kind of. Then at some point you might think "it would be sick to have a breakdown here", even though that usually isn't common in thrash. You get the idea. You do this over and over again with different inspirations (you may wanna make a deathcore song at one point, maybe a djent song, maybe a metalcore song, etc) and they will eventually start meshing and morphing into something new as your experience with these different genres will start influencing u. You'll also pick up a lot of "signature sounds" kind of, like charles has these chromatic shreds that he uses all the time. He also uses the flutters from the floyd rose a ton to the point that if you hear them used in a certain way you can almost certainly guess that charles made the song without even knowing. Another example is aaron kitcher from IA, who uses portnoys on the drums so much that you can always tell if it was him that made the drums for any given track (listen to the drums on Lalassu Xul by rings of saturn compared to any other of their tracks and you will see what i mean)
It's what Webster should change the definition to upon looking up "Filth" in their dictionaries; a link to this song. Nothing more. Describes it perfectly in every which way. \m/ \m/
your skill is at a highly irregular level, god help us all..
shred lvl increased to 100 you now shred 15% harder
Shredding now costs 20% less stamina, and does 100 points shock damage within a 10 yd radius
Kinnzie Martin It's just because he completed the reflections raid and unlocked 'Killswitch'
Shredding now reduces any guitarists confidence by 60% and disarms them
Shredding can be upgraded twice as fast

More like DANK Corners am I right?!?! Seriously some of the sickest guitar work.
The most innovative guitarist of my generation.
always have a hard deciding between him and Jason. Lol.

Dude I'm seriously sharing this to my FB groups. The fact that this guy is still relatively unknown absolutely BOGGLES my friggin mind. The shit is straight extra terrestrial bro...

those arpeggios at the 3 minute mark is still one of the most impressive things ive seen out of this project. insane
2:05 melted my face. thank you, sir.
Charles + Jeff Loomis + Jason Richardson + Rusty Cooley + Keith Merrow = cracks in space time continuum.
Still my favourite of yours to date, something about it just hits a musical sweet spot with me
Ryan Martin thank you!

Thank you man! The support means lot! CDs will be sent out very soon!
Why didn't I find this before this is easily one of my favorite songs of yours.
Makes me think of a sound track to a bad trip. I liked the usage of the kill switch. I enjoyed your book man, keep up the good work
Damn never disappoint with the jams fam
The solo at the end sounds like something Jeff Loomis wishes he'd written, haha. Great song!

Sweet baby Jesus!!! Charlie, you're such a beast.
OMG , this is the best thing I've ever heard in years.....!!!!
Probably one of my new favorites. Original and catchy

I met you when you played in Louisiana with Reflections. Glad to see you are still absolutely mad. Cheers.
Amazing work!

Absolutely fantastic dude, you should have far more views with this kind of talent!
This is amazing,
I press like before play, that's the power of this artist.
Not disappointed, that killswitch tho!
This is the dankest guitar slaying I've ever heard. Amazing job man definitely buying your music bro keep up the brutality in your music!
Cool song Charlie!
That was beautiful
You're an inspiration dude.
Dude I'm a death metal guitarist and I am seriously abput to throw my gear in the trash after watching these vids. Your groove is so amazing it makes me want to quit ugghh

Ima cry my existence

so sick!!!!!!
You are a true original.
If only more artists like you existed
What effects do you have on the part at 1:25? It sounds so awesome
Just a heads up, you can speed up videos and this at 1.25 speed is the best thing ever
So heavy and dark. Sick AF.
the last part is fucking insane, I can't believe this doesn't have more views
never heard this kind of riff!!!
This is fucking amazing!!!!!!! Omg you shred the ax. brutal x6
Imagine Charles, Jason Richardson, and Dmitry (Shokran) doing a G3 type of tour? That would be soooooooooooooooo fucking sick!
Lucas Mann instead if Jason Richardson
Haha fantastic stuff man! Absolutely juicy
this was sooo good!!!
u r insane bro,amazing
this sounds like something you'd hear in some kind of abstract nightmare.
That's cool =D
Fhuuuuuuuuuhhhhhcccccccckkkkkkkkkkk ............. I´m speechless
I can scream to this. . . . . woah.
dude is tooooo much cant believe i slept on this
There it is
Thall... Nice one!
cool solo
Charles u inspire me man no doubt
I've been playing guitar for a couple years now, but I can't even fathom what you must've practiced in your regimen to get to this point. Any hints or tips?
At 2:06 what technique are you using?
It looks kinda just a sweep into standard tremolo picking
But Charles knows how to make even that shit sound evil
I just sat in confusion at the end. That was insane.
This guy is my new god
what is your tuning on these O-o so good!
Lolol sweeping with tremelo picking...tapping with all the fingers on both hands...what.
There so much you could teach us plebes just from that one song
I just wanna know that model and brand guitar. Also that button. Whats good with that?
Samuel Gibbs Legator Ninja 350-Pro (sativa burst finish). The button he uses is a killswitch, which he installed himself by removing the Tone knob
fuckyeah! I really love your approach to music. I wonder how you keep coming up with that brutality, like what inspires you and how you start writing on a song like this.

Dimebag would be impressed!!
THAT SWEEP PICKING THO
How.
Like 700 \m/ stay berried!
I feel like Dr. Strange when he first sees magic by sorcerer supreme.......
"TEACH ME!"
My name is gluttony and music is my food. Feed me more berries.
this is sick as
got damn thats sick
please teach me...
gorgeousssssssss
Where do you find a guitar with that mute button??? I have been looking everywhere and can't find any.
He has a video on how to install one for pretty cheap
wow!
Clearly, we know who was the brains behind Reflections.
So it IS true! Ron Jarzombek and Mathias IA Eklundh DID visit Frankenstein! Charles, you're not who you think you are.
The part from 1:24 - 1:52 is so sick it hurts my skin cells
i'd learn this song... if only there would've been tabs
Super sick! What tuning do you use?
Dude. Putting Reflections to shame!
Flight of the bubble bee
ken payne Flight of the evil bumblebee who has unlimited stings and is seeking revenge on the people who killed the bumblebees family
ken payne I said the same thing about that ending!
Serious question, are there any other guitarists like Caswell who just come up with these ridiculous experiments? It's so odd but so fucking sick, never heard anything like it.
Old Reflections sounds heaps like this ahaha
SICK !
Holy Mother Of God!
dont know if I love it or hate it ahah
how do you get there as a songwriter? i can't wrap my head around it but i like it a lot!

@@woffe8094 thanks for the in depth response
genius!
2:53 is pure fucking filth.
It is.
It's what Webster should change the definition to upon looking up "Filth" in their dictionaries; a link to this song. Nothing more. Describes it perfectly in every which way.
\m/ \m/
what tuning may I ask?
The flash is here!
Some tapping lessons would be sick
The last 40 seconds I felt like your hands should've started smoking or something haha . I can't wait for your next project 🤘🏼
Careful there, you might break the guitar/the universe itself.
