I was thinking the same, I'm mid 50s now and seeing some of these folk went in their 60s is a reminder not to waste a day if it can be helped. Take care.
I am coming up to 60 so like most of us of a certain age we all watched these people on the telly and felt like you knew them personally , with my mum and dad and sister passed away I am feeling like I have lived forever, very strange feeling.
For a long time, I was expecting Prunella Scales to go before Timothy West simply because of her diagnosis some years ago from dementia. Never saw that one coming. He was a marvellous actor who I once had the pleasure of seeing on stage.
What a privilege it has been to share the planet with such gifted people. It's sad to see them leave, but we live in an age where, at the flick of a few buttons, they come alive all over again to entertain, enthral, educate and enliven us. Bless them all and may they rest in eternal peace.
Thank you Stuview, It is A fantastic tribute to those we lost😥I remembered most of these from my childhood growing up at home living with my parents. I grew up watching them and it brings back memories, It's nothing like the drivel we get on TV Nowadays. R.I.P. to them all. And with that said, I wish you and everyone who commented a Prosperous New Year!
Thank you for the video, living Malta I don't really hear of those stars that have passed so many memories brought back as I was child of the 70's and 80's.......RIP to all who have passed 🥲
Ah well firstly thank you for making both videos however like many here it's sad to see so many great people you revered in your childhood have passed now, we all know it comes to us all
Kenneth Cope,Chris Serle and Tony Soper...what a wealth of childhood memories just from that trio! My American wife loves Randall and Hopkirk,we have it on dvd and I almost forgot that Roberta Taylor was in The Bill!
Losing Maggie was certainly a very sad moment for me. To this day I keep a DVD of 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' in pride of place on my DVD shelf. One of the finest films ever made. I even took on the surname 'Brodie' for my Internet postings back when the first (popular) forums and boards were appearing in the mid 1990's.
So pleased you included Julie Stevens. She gets overlooked so often because people only associate her with Play School. Carry on Cleo is one of my favourite films.
I loved - still do - the original Randal and Hopkirk Deceased, have it on DVD. I remember watching Carry on at Your Convenience [or Carry on Round the Bend as it was called in NZ] when it came out, my first ever Carry On film. I would never have recognised them as the same bloke, let alone from Carry on Matron. But looking at them here, disregard the different hair styles and the addition of moustache and now I know it's obvious. Truly a great actor indeed. As was Gunner Graham who is another character who will never be forgotten. I remember Timothy West best from the series ''Brass'' which was on some time - in NZ at least - in the late 70s/early 80s. Great series I've never forgotten. Somehow the ones you see now just aren't the same. Thank you for this video and as long as we continue to watch their series and films they will never be forgotten. Wishing you and your family a prosperous and healthy new year.
Wonderful tribute, Stu. I don't remember some of them, especially some of the actresses, and didn't know a lot of them had passed away. I knew about Maggie Smith and Julie Stevens. Julie had one of those lovely faces, she always seemed to be smiling! At least most of them lived to a good age.
I remember Roberta Taylor in EastEnders and The Bill. Brian Trueman was excellent with his voice work in Danger Mouse and Count Duckula. I love Kenneth Cope in Carry On Matron, dressed in drag as a nurse! 😂 Parker and Brains were two of my favourite Gerry Anderson characters when I was little. Maggie Smith was so good as Mother Superior in the Sister Act films and Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter films. Janey Godley was so awesome and funny. What a legend. I will NEVER forget Timothy West in Royal Jelly from Tales of the Unexpected! So bloody weird! I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Duncan Norvelle a few years ago. What a lovely guy. Olivia Hussey was very good in Black Christmas and Stephen King's It.
@LittleMissGrosser: Roberta Taylor was also in the Inspector Morse episode from Series 2, The Wolvercote Tongue as Sheila Williams, I loved the Carry On films, and the hospital set ones were always my favourite. I loved all of those Cosgrove Hall made children's programmes. I was surprised by the passing of Timothy West before his wife, Prunella because of her condition, but I am sure that she will be well looked after, their son Samuel is the spitting image of his father. We have lost so many talents this year, and the ones that lived until over 100 years, they had seen a lot in their lives, both good and bad.
Lovely tribute as ever. With reference to David Graham, and in addition to the two Cushing films, he also voiced the Daleks, alongside the late Peter Hawkins, throughout the Hartnell era of Dr Who.
Rip to all who have passed. I remember a lot of these people from shows from when I was growing up. Timothy West was also the first person to play Lucy's dad in Lee Mack's BBC comedy series, 'Not Going Out" which I believe he decided to leave to spend more time looking after his wife when she became ill and also he was doing EastEnders and couldn't give time to his wife and both shows, so chose EastEnders as it was more regular work.
very sad indeed but thesepeople have their place in history and were a part of our childhoods and entertained Us🔥 When it came to Brian Trueman i paid close attention..Dm, Chorlton and the wheelies ~aw, just like Willow the wisp with the lategreat kW and the re-run of Stingray, i was secretly scared yet fascinated by the the characters of them all and the way some even spoke (apart from dM, i wasnt afraid of them of course)🤭 Well inlifeisdeath and all that i guess and thanks yet again man for taking Us back there for 18 mins👍 I didnt want to comeback🤭 gracias~
Really well put together - thank you for producing this tribute. The music is a fine mixture of melancholy and optimism and fits perfectly. Can you tell me where I could locate the music?
Many thanks. The two pieces of music are Revive by Sture Zetterberg and I Will Be OK by OTE. They can both be found on the royalty free music website Epidemic Sound.
John Clegg died OH MY Good age It Ain’t Half Hot Mum classic series All the other actors/actresses I knew had died Most were in their 90’s and even reached the ‘MILESTONE’ age of 100+ What also ‘stick out’ fir me is they were born in the 20’s like my late mother🙏🙏🙏 They were ‘tough as old boots’ ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😭😭🏴🏴
Julie Stevens was great as Venus Smith and is way too forgotten for our own goof, even by die hard AVENGERS fans, plus amazing to believe she outlived every major lead actor on the show, save Linda Thorson. Wonder if they'll resurrect her character for the reported, possible revival?
Great to show British talent but when Olivia Hussey came up, I thought? Well I never, I looked at her history and thus, she studied in the UK...excellent, I didn't know that. 👍👍👍
When Arnold Yarrow died my Mum said, "A Doctor Who actor has died, do you know him?" I said, "Don't know Mum, haven't heard about it. Who is it?" expecting it to be (and no offence to Yarrow) some pretty famous Who actor. She passed me her phone with the picture of him in that suit! "No bloody clue Mum, no!" 😂 Usually I'll know because the actor had been at a convention, but I don't recall him ever doing one back in the day, so I didn't know who he was, even out of the suit. Other than Dame Maggie Smith and Timothy West I have to admit ignorance to almost everyone on this list. I would have heard David "I'll get it!" (if you know, you know!) Graham for his voice work as those shows mentioned were very much a part of my childhood. I have some Danger Mouse memorabilia and I recently purchased an absolutely amazing Count Duckula action figure which I've been meaning to review for ages. But to put a name or a face to those voices, sorry, no. But I will thank him for his work! RIP to everyone who passed this last year, including my Shakti, who I miss every day. You all brought us joy, love and laughter!
Gunner Graham was a big hero for me as a kid. His thoughtful interventions would often have Sergeant Major Williams constrained to think again. What a glorious show 'It Ain't Half Hot, Mum' was!
It's a strange feeling watching all these faces engraved in your brain during childhood passing away reminding oneself time is ticking away for thee
It's certainly a sobering thought.
I was thinking the same, I'm mid 50s now and seeing some of these folk went in their 60s is a reminder not to waste a day if it can be helped.
Take care.

I've lost all my family over the years and when other memory dies another part of you dies too like cliff erosion
Yet another excellent video Stu........You bring back so many memories...............and make me feel so flippin' old!! Thanks a lot! :)
Many thanks.
For a long time, I was expecting Prunella Scales to go before Timothy West simply because of her diagnosis some years ago from dementia. Never saw that one coming. He was a marvellous actor who I once had the pleasure of seeing on stage.
I always thought it was wonderful to see how devoted they were to each other.
I remember he was in Tales From The Unexpected "Royal Jelly" episode where his character couldn't get enough honey and he turned into a bee!
@@alanprior7650 I remember that one. It was an early episode introduced by Roald Dahl. I think my wife has them on DVD.
@@alanprior7650 That episode totally freaked me out.
What a privilege it has been to share the planet with such gifted people. It's sad to see them leave, but we live in an age where, at the flick of a few buttons, they come alive all over again to entertain, enthral, educate and enliven us. Bless them all and may they rest in eternal peace.
Another great video, I find it very sobering to see such familiar faces pass away, very sad
You've done a wonderful job on this, Stu.
Thanks so much and all the best to you.
Many thanks!
Nostalgic goodness, thanks Stu and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to all of us! ❤
Thank you. Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
Another excellent video Didnt know a lot of the stars I knew had died Thanks xx

So much talent. 😢
Absolutely.
Sheer quality of presentation. I cannot envisage any media outlet doing a better job than these beautiful tributes. Outstanding.
Wow, thank you for that. Much appreciated.
Very good Stu! So glad many of them lived to a ripe old age!
As always, excellent video, well researched and a commentary by a voice that is perfect for commentary. Thank you.
Many thanks.👍
As always Stu, a very lovely tribute.
Dame Maggie Smith got me this year, 😢 I am such a big fan of hers.
Thank you for the video, living Malta I don't really hear of those stars that have passed so many memories brought back as I was child of the 70's and 80's.......RIP to all who have passed 🥲
So many greats lost in 2024, may they all Rest In Peace, thanks for all the great memories.
Ah well firstly thank you for making both videos however like many here it's sad to see so many great people you revered in your childhood have passed now, we all know it comes to us all
Nicely informative and respectful video of the stars we lost.
Many thanks.
Always good to see these videos. Had no idea bernard hill had died. Who can ever forget the classic randall and hopkirk. RIP kenneth cope aka marty
Another lovely tribute video Stu to the stars we lost in 2024.
Thanks as always Julie.

Thank you for remembering Janey. She is a much missed hero in Scotland.
Brian Truman’s screen test was a regular watch for me as a kid in the 80’s RIP
So pleased you included Julie Stevens. She gets overlooked so often because people only associate her with Play School. Carry on Cleo is one of my favourite films.
One of the greatest Carry Ons and a classic of British comedy in general.

Thanks as always Carole. I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Julie Stevens where she isn't smiling broadly!
Lost so amazing people gone but not forgotten
#stuviewtv respectfully and beautifully collated memoriam. Not an Americanism in sight.
Thank you.
Geoffrey Hinsliff also starred as George Fairchild in the TV comedy Brass (along with Timothy West) which ran for 3 series from 1983.
rip Maggie Smith
Good vid

Brian Trueman dominated my life from '79 to '82. Both BBC and Granada ITV this chap was king.
Many thanks Andrea. Dame Maggie Smith was just wonderful. She was one of those stars who you thought would go on forever.
Lovely tribute as ever. With reference to David Graham, and in addition to the two Cushing films, he also voiced the Daleks, alongside the late Peter Hawkins, throughout the Hartnell era of Dr Who.
immortalised by TV and film, almost like living forever.
Absolutely.
Kenneth Cope also had a recurring role in Last of the summer wine
honorable mention goes to Martin Lee of Brotherhood of Man
Yes, absolutely.
R I P to all ❤❤❤
The scariest thing I’m getting closer to the age of these people. 😂
RIP Parker and friends, yes milady

Timothy west will always be Bradley hardacre to me.
A show not repeated enough. Very witty.

Maggie smith was in all of the harry potter films
The one she missed was Deathly Hallows Part One.
Where's Britt Allcroft?
A highly respected writer, producer and director without a doubt but Britt wasn't really a performer, which is why she isn't included here.
