Very soothing but I found I was starting to nod off. Watched it again from the start at 2x speed (which I know goes against what was intended) and found it easier to watch.
Lovely piece of crafting - the hard covers finished it off beautifully.

Very nice binding, a lot of skill, however what is this kind of binding for?
Thank you! I don’t think it was made with a specific purpose but this kind of binding would be great as a portfolio because you can change the pages easily, filtering out old work with new or just rearranging the order. Or it could be used as a photo album where you can easily take photos out to look at them. Just a few ideas off the top of my head.
Thanks, the photograph idea does sound intriguing. You could make one for special strips in different colors, plus it could be used for estate records - just like you have shelves for books, you now have a book with all records in same place.Having worked on books so long I could not get the brain started on this configuration, might work for marketing brochures too. Thanks again.

It’s unfortunate that the most actually helpful video on this technique on youtube has no parts list or sizes or link to someone else’s material since it looks like this isn’t your own project.
This is a design by Hedi Kyle which is stated in the title of the video :) she has a book for sale which includes tutorials for lots of her book designs called The Art of the Fold if you want to learn the technique. My videos aren’t intended as tutorial videos but could be helpful alongside a written tutorial such as the book if you want to use it as a reference but I don’t include every single step of the making process otherwise the video would be too long!
Dark blue paper on dark green table, hard to see. Hands often get in the way and block view. Not for beginnners.
Talk about a frustrating video! If she would have just slowed down at the major steps to highlight what was happening next, I could have followed along. Even audio talk through would have helped. Don't watch this if you actually want to make the thing. And I'm not new at bookbinding either.
This kind of feedback is actually really helpful so thank you for letting me know! To be honest my videos aren’t meant to be instructional or tutorial based so I don’t include every step, but I do see what you mean, you still need to follow what’s happening to enjoy the process. I am considering including a voice over in my next video, let’s see how that goes…
