    Great job Kelsey, great video. Definitely wear gloves pulling bean stubble out of the header it will rip your hands to pieces. We just got a 35 ft draper head will never go back to the old header type. The lilac flowers are a great touch have a safe rest of the harvest season, and a beautiful week ahead Miss Kelsey 😊.

Congrats! :) I’m glad you are liking it! I would never want to go back to other type either lol. Hope you’re having a great week! :)

      @@farmingwithkels5264 Thanks for your reply. It's great 👌👍 to watch different farming operations. It is a special gift 🎁 given to you by the good Lord to get to farm with your dad. My dad, and my grandpa, taught me everything about farming from an early age. Hard work, and learning to deal with good years and bad years. I hope you have a wonderful 👍 Christmas 🌲🎁, and a happy new year Kelsey.
      I'm looking to diversify our farming operation, I'm thinking 🤔 about getting into goat 🐐 farming. Could you please do an information video about how to get started, and how much it costs. Sorry for the long speech I hope you have a blessed week ahead Kelsey from a fellow farmer further south ⬇️.

    Great job sweetie
    Have you ever tried to go on a slight angle cutting the beans , it can help with cutting and feeding in the header

      New viewer hear and I'll agree on the cutting at an angle. Once the end rows are off I NEVER cut with the rows. But maybe that only works here in southern Indiana.

      Hi! :) Sorry for late reply! I appreciate the kind helpful feedback! :) I sometimes cut beans at an angle, field depending. This one was giving me troubles down the little hills , I definitely go with the rows a lot and also slight angle as well on others :) Hope you’re having a great week!

    We have been done for just shy of 3 weeks. The beans were average at best. The corn was pretty good & quite dry for us. The wettest corn we combined was around 18.5%. The driest was 13%. Not a bad harvest for our last one.

    As of now I’ve been done for two and a half weeks. Bean yields down but corn better than last year for me, however, running my new to me 8120 and a 35’ flex head went well but I have a wiring or sensor issue as I had to run the head in manual along with the tilt for the last half of beans. Looks like those new “o” grate concaves work very well. Can’t wait to see how they do in corn for you.

      Hi! :) Sorry for late reply! Happy to read this! Great to hear you got your crops all complete weeks ago! Awesome that your corn crop was great this year! :) Very exciting that you got some new equipment this year as well! Hopefully you got the wiring or sensors figured out:) That can be challenging! I loved working with the o grate concaves this year, yes! Thanks! Wishing you a great week! :)

    What I find amazing, the average farm uses their combine under 200hrs/year. Imagine it was a semi truck. That’s maybe a months usage. A combine should last without issue for 10 years. I think manufacturers build in obsolescence. Imagine people like Deere after making a million on a combine has to get a couple repairs every year.

    • @davemurphy2774
      @davemurphy2774 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just ask some truck owners about engine troubles after CAT stopped making truck engines and emissions had to be added... A combine is full of wear parts like your semi trucks tires on a mountain road of sharper rocks every day. At 1500 threshing hours especially of corn peas beans the more abrasive crops the combine will start to need some TLC on them contact parts if not already. Like the undercarriage on a dozer working in dirt rocks sand etc wears out faster. Them parts are wear items... A grain auger can look new on the outside but if used hard for a few years can be all worn out on the inside!!
