In my opinion Mr Neidich is one of the very few clarientists who brought music and clarinet to another level. A huge source of inspiration since he started and for the generation to come. Great thanks to such a great musician and unique clarinet master.
I agree with nearly all of what Charles Neidich says,but as regarding contemporary composers being relevent if they have, shall we say, the power of expression, is the degree to which they can be equally compelling to say Baroque times. What I find wrong with that, is that, just like musci is the star, so also, the order,as regards harmonization etc.... is the star, not power of expression,and tody's contemporary music seems to suffer from the same anarchistic perspecitve as modern art.Amorality
