Thanks for sharing your collection. I'm elated to see so many people love their babies as much as I love mine. I told myself decades ago when I get older and re-establish my collection, no one will give any away like my grandmother did when I was in elementary school. The quality of these dolls is amazing.
I love your vintage dolls. A lot of my childhood dolls disappeared. My very favorite was taken and put in my grandmother’s rummage sale. Without knowing until I came home from school one day. By the time I called grandma, she had sold. I cried silently for days and years.

My heart hurt when I read your post. I lived with my grandmother and one day I came home from school only to find that she gave some of my dolls away because she felt I had too many. I always took very good care of them and was sadden, if she wanted me to downsize, she should have advised me that I needed to let some go and could only keep a certain amount, I would have been willing to do that. One of the dolls was given to me by my auntie and the doll was my favorite, I was sad for weeks, especially when I found out who she gave the dolls to, and they were not being taken care of.
I have the last doll, the original Welcome Home, Baby. I got her for Christmas when I was 5. She’s my favorite doll ever. I collect all kinds of vintage dolls.

Congrats on your vintage dolly finds! I have a vintage Heidi Ott vinyl doll that took me five years to find on eBay! It was a special one I had in childhood and one day I finally saw one on eBay and got it for only $15 in mint condition! I smiled when you said you were feeling choked up opening that doll because I know that feeling too!

Yes!!!! I think my stuffies & my babies brought me the most comfort during difficult times. I became very emotionally attached to those specific things. I could care for them & love on them. Animal & babies were seen as precious to me, in need of protection & love. 💕
ashton drake is legit and sculptors are paid just like paradise gallery’s . A reborn doll is supposed to be a baby that is hand-painted to look life like used to be from Beringer dolls and they were redone hence reborn, but now we have kits to paint, but they are still reborn.

Very good details. I found my Marie doll finally on Mercari. She was in a box that was stolen. Vintage 1950’s. Her hair is curly Saran hair. She had some paint spots on her that came right off. She is a drink and wet. 10”. I absolutely loved her. I have all my dolls except my first one my granny got me. A horseman doll. My mom let me play with it and I was baby and I demolished it I guess. I have tried to find a good one of it. Great finds you got there. It’s our childhood. Nothing like that feeling when you find them. Good video

I liked your video about starting the vintage dolls from childhood!! You and I sound so much alike when little!! I loved my babies I would get at Christmas and played with constantly and took them with me on our family trips!! I still have my original Krissy doll and clothes my mother made me!! I just found my favorite from ebay as well from the 1960's with the pull string!! The chatty Kathy in her original yellow dress!! Rare find, but yes I told connect happy moments with that doll. I have an old pic of me holding her on a Summer trip to the lake for a week! 1967!! I blew up the pictures to 8x10's that are with my dolls in my nursery❤❤❤ I keep them all in same room. Anyway I enjoyed it. I'll be interested in your next video on what's going on as well and with the doll show drama. Take care and stay warm!!

Glad ur new , vintage babies have copyrights :) back then everyone copyrighted everything.. 😊 smart , copyrights are very specific about what they cover and are worded very carefully. All artist should be copyrighting they're work before sending to China to have kits made. 😔
So very true!!! Also people don’t realize copyright ©️ laws don’t exist in all countries. There are only treaties between some countries.

I have a question,a artist is someone who paints the kit ,the sculpture is the person who sculpts the kit so how is the artist losing money since they only paint the kit,
We are talking about the sculpting artist losing their money. 🥰
As a reborn artist, it hurts our whole community. It discourages sculptors from even wanting to sculpt new sculpts, when their work is just stolen, and mass produced. Without having quality sculpts, we , as artists wouldn’t have anything to paint. It also makes people think they should be able to get a real reborn doll at rock bottom prices. We artists pay, on average $100-$160 just for the blank sculpts. We then spend countless hours painting. We have bought paints, varnishes, stuffing supplies, zip ties, magnets, pacifiers, hair and eyes, diapers, clothes, blankets, etc, etc…. Having the market over run with knock off kits hurts the entire reborn community. It isn’t morally right either. I know how much time and effort I put into painting these dolls. I can’t imagine how upset I would be to pour my heart into sculpting a baby, that could maybe be a likeness of my own child, or family member, and go through all the time and expense of having the sculpt reproduced into vinyl, or silicone with a limited edition number, only to have it completely stolen, mass produced, and flooding the market. These are not big corporations, these are individual sculpting artists and painting artists that are being hurt by this practice. An unethical artist that would buy and paint a knock off kit also hurts the community, because they can purchase a cheap knock off of a sculpt for $15-$20, paint it, and undercut the legitimate artist’s market . The legitimate artist would have spent $150 on just the blank sculpt, as opposed to $15. I don’t think anyone in this community looks down on other types of dolls. I. Y self collected Barbies, and cabbage patch, and Madame Alexander, and Effanbee dolls growing up. We just don’t like when a sculptor has their artistic work stolen, and mass produced. It just destroys the market all around! Buying copyrighted reborn like dolls from Paradise Galleries, etc is fine, and valid, but it is highly unethical to purchase an illegally produced, stolen sculpt from Bonnie Brown, Cassie Brace, Natalie Blick, or any sculpt, I just see a lot of their dolls for sale in the counterfeit world. It is just all the way wrong, as they are not getting paid for their hard work, and it makes limited edition collecting virtually impossible.
