Funny thing is Alhans fam ain’t even Turkish. They are Cypriot. It’s quite evident from the choice of food. Apart from bulgur that dish has nothing Turkish about it.

@@ilaydab_b I never said that. Cypriot Turks and Cypriot Greeks are not considered true Turkish or true Greek by the mainland Turkey or mainland Greece. That is an unfortunate reality. It’s because both Cypriot Greeks and Turks speak different to both the mainlands. The Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots have more in common than they do with their counterpart mainlands.

@@ilaydab_b Understanding some one doesn’t mean you share the same values. A lot Turkish Cypriot are looked down by mainland Turks. Same with Cypriot Greeks by Greeks. You as a Turk probably share more similar values culturally with a Kurd or even a Greek from Greece than a Cypriot Turk. Unfortunately nationalism is stupid thing that messes with peoples sense to under these things.

@@ilaydab_b I mean Turkeys track record for discrimination against those who are nonTurkish minorities but are living in Turkey is world renowned. The world is aware of what happened to the Armenians and what’s currently happening to the Kurds and Assyrians identity and cultural rights. Unfortunately I’m not a big fan of Ataturk as he called Ata (Father) of Turks. Literally the essence of this horrible ideology nationalism. I heard he has a quote “How happy is the one who says “I am a Turk””. That quote tells you how messed up Ataturku nationalism is. It resembles the dogmatism of religion.
