Whenever I enter a Catholic Church I will always look for the red light because it’s always close to the tabernacle that’s where I turn towards the tabernacle n genuflect on my right knee touching the floor saying my Lord and my God I am here. Now ppl come right in went right to their pews n sit as if they are going to watch a game there is no respect to our God in His house.Priests n deacons should remind them through their bulletin or from the pulpit.Thankyou father for this talk

It has been a mistake to remove the tabernacle from the centre of the church. (In my opinion)

Yes I agree it should be reminded to new attendees on the bulletin or from the pulpit 😊

I don't know why priest don't remind the congregation that the inside of a church is a SACRED place. Even some priest treat the church like a social hall 😢.

My parish restored the Tabernacle back to original position behind the altar, also. At one point, it was reposed to the side of the Church, outside the Sanctuary. Jesus should be the central presence. Good tutorial.

Personally, it humbles my soul to recognize into whose presence I have come.
As long as one is able, greet the Lord of the house with a genuflection when you come in.

The proper usage is one knee, whether or not the Blessed Sacrament exposed: "Genuflection in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, whether reserved in the tabernacle or exposed for public adoration, is on one knee." Eucharistiae Sacramentum (1973)

  • @peggypeck1539

Father what is proper for one to do when one has bad knees and weak legs? I cannot genuflect all the way down. As for getting on both knees on the floor I can't do it. I can kneel on a kneeler with some care and help from the seat in front of me.

I’m super new here but I have a medical condition that gives me hypermobile joints. I can’t get down on my knees or the knee caps will slip. I was told that God and Jesus don’t want us to hurt ourselves in worship so I do a deep bow.

Please clear up my confusion. In all my just about 70 years I have knelt until the last Eucharistic minister leaves the church with the Eucharist for the sick and home bound which is after the celebrant has closed the tabernacle. I have never been the sole cradle Catholic doing this. Is this ok nowadays?

    • @2021-j2d

@richardclark4692 with all due respect, if you are educated on anything biblical based on You Tube then you really have a very poorly formed intellect. The Catholic Church can be traced directly to Jesus Himself. That my friend, is biblical. But if you study the Bible you would know that too. If you had studied the Tradition of the church instead of studying videos you would realize how silly your comment is. Tradition, authority, lineage and teaching of the > 2000 year old church is Truth. Jesus wants us all United in His Holy Catholic Church. You just keep watching YT, Silly!

What an austere auditorium St Edwards looks like. So cold. So barren. No beauty for the Lord’s House. Such a mean aesthetic. Makes me sad. 😢 Praise God the Tabernacle is in the center of the back wall of the sanctuary. Glory to you Jesus Christ. Have Mercy on us and the whole world. 🙏🏼

The Crucifix on the Altar aught to be standing, not laying flat. Also, there aught to be 6 Candles, 3 at each side of the Throne (Tabernacle) of Jesus, and 6 on the Altar.

When you are passing an altar where the Sacrifice is made, you must always bow or genuflect. This means in church, as you normally ignore the red light telling you the Lord God is present, OR even when you are walking past the altar at some Outdoor Shrine when the Mass is not being offered. Most Catholics insult God at every opportunity. See if you can discover new ways Catholics do that when waiting for The Mass to Begin. Mostly Catholics pay greater respect to some vile Hollywood movie than they do the beginning of Mass in a Catholic Church. How often do YOU insult GOD in Church ? ?

    • @ChaChaDancin

As a new Catholic I’ve been impressed at the respect shown by my fellow Catholics to God at every opportunity. I have been learning from their good examples. Have a good day and God bless you!

The Tabernacle was eliminated at the Cross, the curtain was rent from the top down, showing the start of the New Covenant, Testament. This is explained in the book of Hebrews. Read your bible people so you know what our Lord demands us to do. Our Lord wants a personal relationship with us, this telling us we must be born again, when the Holy Spirit comes into and abides in us. John 3:3, this is spiritual baptism, not water baptism. Eater baptism is to show the Body of Christ and others that we have given our life to Christ and are willing to follow Him. We are not called Children of God until this takes place in our lives and we are Born Again. The bible explains this in John chapter 3 and many other scriptures in the b9ble including Ephesians 2:8-9.

I don’t want to be impolite or rude, but there are plenty of organizations in the world full of “smoke and mirrors”. Formal religions are full of smoke and mirrors.

    • @eyeguyeyeguy1
      @eyeguyeyeguy1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Richard. I can’t speak for other formal religions, just Catholicism. All of what you call “smoke and mirrors” implying magic tricks, to us, is as real as a tree, or the sun, or your body, or God and Jesus himself. I would challenge you to read that the majority of even atheist scholars have come to the conclusion that the Resurrection of Jesus actually happened. So if it is in fact true, it certainly wasn’t done with “smoke and mirrors”.
