I often wondered why dont people interested in the subject of napoleonic wars and with the tecnical knowledge of video editing dont use napoleon total war in their documentaries this was excelent work🎉 exemplary work! im glad I stumbled upon your channel
@@lionsbergcinematic3215your welcome and just saying but I also can’t wait to see the American Revolutionary War and the French and Indian war that’s if you are going to do those wars.
Großartig! Well done, impressing. One more detail to the Prussian Army: Many unit were not professional soldiers but only "Landwehr." Some of those units had muskets only for 1/3 of their man. The other were equipped with only beanpoles against cavalry attacks. Some man not even hat boots, only wooden shoes or no shoes at all.
@@lionsbergcinematic3215 Well, many were young man and good on their feet. Guess they could run quite fast in the right direction to leave the battleground for the professional soldiers ;-)
Great work! At the end of June 1815 only 25% of Napoleon's opponents were British this made me always wonder why Wellington is (almost) always portrayed as the ultimate victor. After reading German/Dutch publications the only conclusion can be that the events were predominantly Prussian, French, German and Dutch. Publications related to Waterloo often seem to be driven by agenda's, opinion and pride rather than historical fact. Bluecher, Zieten and Gneisenau were the dominant leaders after Ligny.
Thank you so much! We are currently working on the Battle of Quatre Bras, 1815 were the outnumbered Dutch, Nassau troops under the Prince of Orange holds off Marshall Nay until Wellington arrives with reinforcement! We have actual Dutch accounts of the Battle and we intend to use it of the video!
@@lionsbergcinematic3215 I am looking forward to it! At the time there was outrage about the mainstream British version but the Prince of Orange decided to keep his distance since he did not want to jeopardize his good relationship with the Duke of Wellington. If you really want to shake up things use this German publication: "Englands große Waterloo-Lüge zu den Jahrhunderttagen von 1815" ISBN/EAN 9783747702055
This often happens regarding an allied army in historical references. The commander/general of that army, and therefore his nation, often gets most of the acclaim despite contributing a comparatively smaller number of troops than the rest. A good example of this is Thermopylae. Although the other Greeks in the army, notably the Thespians, had many more troops fight and die in the last stand, they are barely mentioned - if at all. Because the army commander was Spartan.
@@NefariousKoel Absolutely. I think it is fascinating that the British have been able to uphold their version of Waterloo as "fact" for over 200 years. Instead of trying to find the truth it seems to make more sense to discuss the different versions that are out there including the Prussian one as described in "Englands große Waterloo-Lüge zu den Jahrhunderttagen von 1815".

This is the second in this series I've tried to watch, but was unable to because of the bad pronunciation, betraying the presenter's lack of any actual knowledge of the subject. I won't waste my time with the third. Thumbs down.
