Just throwing this out there-- the tribe threw a net that spanned the entire river, at the confluence, from 8pm yesterday to 5am today. That certainly effected the fishing today.
Should be illegal. That's a hazard to navigation. They were out pulling in a net at 2:30am Sunday too. Not sure how long it was out, but super dangerous! No lights, nothing. I'm just lucky I didn't run into it.
Each year they blame it on dams and sea lions for low counts. The old treaties need reworked. "rules need to be in place for all." Said My uncle Dave(Yakima nation) that loved fishing as I do. He was not a fan of netting if it wasn't hand cast, but would rather use a pole.
@@Not.The.Avg.Smitty If they want to have their "traditional way of life" then it should be obtained using "traditional methods of catch", no modern methods, no modern boats, etc... Shouldn't be able to have it both ways. In any case they should have fixed length limits on their nets, place them downstream away from the typical boating/fishing locations (and out of navigation channels), and only run them in the light when they can be seen and avoided.
@@jasonhurdlow6607 if my uncle were still around, he'd say the same... but he'd throw a couple "How ✋️" in it for authentication. Hated that some/lots used giant nets and are lazy.
I've put in around 30 hours at the confluence so far over multiple days with nothing to show for it. Probably half that hover fishing, half trolling. In fact between Saturday night and Sunday morning, I didn't even see a single fish caught in the fleet. Finally saw one of the outfitters get one at 2:30pm on Sunday, and they got another like 45 minutes later. Otherwise it was crickets. My buddy and I actually stopped for an hour to spin for smallies just to alleviate the boredom. Had no problem catching lots of those.
@@samsmith7150 haven’t used one yet, problem I have is that I can’t decide I want one, and get one before the season is over. I don’t plan well that far in advance. Haha it’s mostly a me problem
Thanks and keep 'em coming.
love these updates!

@@jkline999 they have been doing that for over a week, so yes makes a difference, but we wacked them when the tribe was netting last year

Thanks ,that’s a sweet rod
I just got into hover fishing 4 or 5 years ago and absolutely love it. Question, what style and size hook do you prefer?
Ohh man, I feel like I keep changing every week. I really like fishing 2 #2 gami octopus hooks. Has been my best set up so far
Hi
Thanks for the update. Whats your steel head set up? if you don't mind sharing, Blessings to you all.
Haven't seen ya in awhile. Figured you were hunting. I no guys been waking bulls with bow this season in Idaho...
Loomis for life!
Thanks for the report. What size hooks do you use while hoover fishing? Is there any particular scent that you like while hoover fish on staging fish?
👍🏻
What do you think of Edge rods?

@@jonessportfishing Haha I have a hard time choosing as well. G Loomis rods are really nice but spendy
Do you upgrade your Okuma Coldwater drag washers or run the stock ones?
They don't make one for that model of Coldwater that I'm aware of.
No, I roll them the way they are. I don’t have time to alter things. They either work they way they are sold or they go in the trash can
Any openings ?
