      Therefore, the people go hungry.
People are hard to manage because they are oppressed.

People laugh at death because their lives are cheapened
      With the weight of expectation.
This is why they laugh at death.
      Who could value life
When food is scarce, and freedom repressed?"

Greedy bastards are confronted with a critical mass who have manners, brains and a proper sense of justice. Against such they have no tools or strategy. Only a committed fool can DESPISE THE YOUTH on the basis of age and ''LACK OF EXPERIENCE'' ! Even fools grow old, which means they too have experience but not the kind we need or require!

Inflation is low because we;re very dependent on rain-fed agriculture, and we've had 3 straight seasons of good rains, after 5 consecutive seasons of failed reasons. Secondly the IMF has come through with loans to help offset previous loans and therefore avert default like other African countries have done. We're a western puppet country so we get "favors" like that, which is just kicking the can down the road. This made our currency strengthen very fast after a steep fall 1 - 2 years ago, which has in turn reduced the cost of imports.
Food inflation is the only good indicator (perhaps besides tourism numbers) though. Practically everything else is bad

Millennials and the generations that preceded them have fundamentally failed us. Their obsession with decorum and maintaining appearances has led to a culture of complacency and inaction. In stark contrast, Gen Z is a generation unshackled by the pretenses of the past. WE ruthlessly expose hypocrisy and refuse to entertain the deceit and systemic failures that have plagued OUR society. Gen Z’s raw and unapologetic approach is a radical departure from the status quo, heralding a new era of accountability and unvarnished truth. OUR defiance is not just a rebellion; it is a necessary revolution against the entrenched norms that have perpetuated injustice and mediocrity.

With all due respect, the fact that you think Millennials are part of the problem shows how horribly misguided you are.
You're talking about inaction but fail to discuss the necessary action that needs to happen. The key has and will always be for a nation to produce goods and services that it can sell both locally and internationally. That has, is, and will forever be the key to a thriving 'uchumi.' That's how you have a nation that has a tax system that works for even the brokest of the broke. I cannot stress this enough; if you cannot understand why production is the necessary action, you will never understand why the overwhelming majority of Africa -- including all of the island nations -- are firmly in third-world status.
Look at the products in the video. Tecno stores, iPhones, wireless mics (probably DJI/Rode/Shure/Sennheiser/AKG), Nike shoes, Converse shoes (part of Nike), Canon cameras, Toyota cars, Chinese speakerphones, German riot guns, the list goes on. Look at what company this video was recorded for. Look at what app/site is hosting the video.
Nothing that was mentioned is made in Kenya or owned by any company in Kenya. That is the fundamental problem that will persist until people are ready to confront it and eliminate it through hard work and innovation.
TL;DR: Production is key. You solve the tax problem by producing goods and services and not blaming groups of people. Good luck!

Exactly. Though you should hear what Gen Z is saying about the next president and the logic they present to pick him or her -- not very encouraging. Kenyans can't seem to think straight in that regard. The simple idea of picking someone who has a clean track record who is not a thief or a murderous bastard seems lost on Kenyans. Pick the first conman who tells them what they want to hear. Past 15 years Kenyans have defiantly and KNOWINGLY picked two people one after the next both tried and tested murderers and thieves that were indicted by the ICC and picked as president on the _most shallow level of logic_ I've seen in any country and I've lived in three countries through several election cycles. Crazy

Kenya has been steadily getting rid of their corruption since 2015 according to their corruption index. It's possible that their government is indeed eliminating corruption, yet still taxing too much. Perhaps they were just disconnected in parliament, because many African nations do not get this luxury of protesting without being killed. Honestly, you don't want to push the protests too hard or they could empower a despot who claims they will "fix" things.

I am a Kenyan and Ruto....the president, has refused to listen to his people. His MPs(204) were paid each Ksh 2 million to pass a finance bill that will see an increase in taxes for the employed, resulting in at least 42% taxes in our paychecks. He also does not address the fact that our lands, passed down through inheritance will now become state owned should the bill be passed. We cannot be leasing our ancestral lands from the government. The bill is punitive and crippling, and it will see our already hard lives become impossible to live. The Kenyan youth are fighting for a better future which this bill now threatens.
