Best most informative fishing video this summer. You and 609 Fishing really know how to elevate the fishing knowledge in NJ. Thank you for all you are doing.
Your right Tog a Bergals are similar fish, i think both are in the wrasse family which they love eating crustaceans. Soon as I catch a large one I’ll try eating one.
I was there yesterday using clams caught nothing but sea bass and cunner. Are the sand fleas easy to get? What time is best to fish the inlet for triggerfish and tog?
Sand flea are easy to get, check out my other video how to catch sand fleas. High tide is a good time for triggerfish. You have to fish different locations around the jetty they move around.
@@TriboroFishing thanks! sorry for all the noob questions, but will I be able to put the braid line directly onto the reel? Or will I have to put it on some mono or Flouro first?
Awesome catches. I'm in the the New York City area. I was told that the Tog actually swim away from the area for the summer. Is that really true, or they're simply not in season? Stripers and blues, for example, are not as common during the summer as they are before and after.

@@TriboroFishing thank you for the response and great content!
Im not sure if you know but those bigger bergals are also very good eating, the smaller ones 3”-6” you can live line for monster fluke
Next time I catch a big Bergall I’ll try eating it, I heard they taste like tog.
multi species days are great days.
Super fun day it was!! Thanks for watching buddy
What size rod is ideal spec wise and line spec ? Also best for bait? Please advise
Dam bro i am amaze where you got those triggers i tried on Monday but only got togs. Great video
Yea man got to move around the jetty and look for them but pretty easy to catch after you find them.
What is the name of the jetty? I’m from ny and I really want to get on some tog and some trigger fish. I would really appreciate it.
Which jetty is that ?
Man those big bergals don’t taste too bad either if you never tried them, they eat the same things the togs eat

What's this location?
What’s a good all around rod and reel combo that’s not too pricey(I’m relatively new)?

Let a tackle shop do it for you they will lay line correctly for you.
@@TriboroFishing if I can’t get a tackle shop to do it, do you suggest that I just use fluoro instead of the braid?
Putting braid directly should be fine for Daiwa BG. I think it a has a not slip coating on the spool but you should be fine.

Fisherman’s Magazine said Tog fish around the jetty and shores are residents fish and stay all year long.
Is there a size/quantity limit for the triggerfish?
Not in NY and NJ.
@@TriboroFishing thanks
