  • On the occasion of D-Day commemoration ceremonies, the Queen of England is paying an official state visit in France and will be attending a banquet as the guest of honor at the official residence of the President of the Republic of France, the Elysée Palace. This documentary film will describe the event from the kitchens of power, the true vitrine of French gastronomy which has been on Unesco's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2010. We will follow the work of the teams of the famous chef Guillaume Gomez, from the conception of the menus to the selection of products with the best French producers as well as the installation of the reception hall. A true challenge for a prestigious guest.

When we compare this video to Secrets of the British Royal Kitchen, there are striking differences. The Elysee chef has control over the menu and makes his side dish decisions at the last minute, based on produce available. In England, however, the Queen personally approves all menus and preparations are rehearsed so that each event works like a master production. None is focused on planning and the other on inspiration. Fascinating.

In England the Chef presents multiple proposed menus to the King/Queen Consort, based on the products available ..the monarch decides amongst the multiple menus presented to her, taking into consideration the visiting dignitaries diet preferences, especially if it's religious dignitary...For Hindus, the monarch might chose a vegetarian dinner, For Muslims, the palace will serve only halal meat...also the monarch will take into consideration, the personal preferences of the visiting dignitary as well

Just as Charles III, is King of England.

I do believe it is a French chef who taught a certain Gordon Ramsay the art of cooking. And we all know how successful Ramsay is.

It's good to be the king/queen... Only the best, paid for by others.

@Saki Maro Why does any country pay for anything they can't use? It's a part of national identity. Constitutional monarchy has been Englands defining characteristic for so many years, it's hard to picture them without it. And it plays a huge role in how England is viewed by the world. Most agree that while british government is a shitshow atm, the royal house has class and dignity, and most of its members are well loved. Like the Queen, princes William and Harry and the late Diana.

I don't even truly know what the royals / nobles do nowadays.
And apparently not all the best of best ingredients is used since some are cut off because of prices and all. I don't know... It feels like such a cheapskate... I mean... But again, maybe it's just us peasant... we don't know the world of those high class human... lol
But really, they want the best ingredients with lowest price???
Geez, I wonder who will have to close those gaps because of them. *sarcasm...the salt is coming*
Oh well... at least the shops gets the titles that their stuff is used in Elysee Palace.
Most likely will surge the customer base
