    I finally had time to watch this video, I wanted to dedicate time to watch the entire video at once. This tour has renewed my desire to visit the Pacific Bonsai Museum. Thanks

      On a typical grey and rainy PNW day, it’s a really neat place to visit. On a sunny day… glorious!

    What an amazing collection. How lucky you have a bonsai museum in your area.

      One of the many reasons this area of the world is nicknamed the PNWonderland!

    Just had the chance to see this video today. Thank you a lot for making it! I plan visiting this "museum" since I have started on bonsai but never had the chance. It is on my bucket list, hope I can accomplish that. Thanks again, it gave me a little taste of what it is like, and I loved!

    Dan has put a very contemporary twist on bonsai. Done very very well

      Different in style than what many are accustomed to. I appreciate his unique approach.

    We have nothing like this in Liverpool 🇬🇧 nearest is in London😏. The "Gnarly" collection my favourite superb trees so natural looking and what a great idea with the sedum instead of moss, killing two birds here Bonsai and rock garden in one, off to the local garden centre to buy some 👍.

    Love this video Jared! I'm kind of in love with that Buttonwood in the beginning. Perhaps it is in one of my pots??? Looks real familiar. Cheers!

    • @BonsaiEcho
      @BonsaiEcho  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It very well may be one of your pots, Rob. There have been more and more American ceramic artists’ pieces showing up with the trees over the last 2 decades since I’ve been visiting the museum. And I’m loving it!

    Still watching, but was wondering which redwood was the formal upright? I’m guessing coastal, but maybe Giant sequoia? We visited there around 15 or 17 years ago. Loved it then and still do.

    Good insight. How often do you visit? Sounds like it's quite frequent.

    • @BonsaiEcho

      It’s about a 20 minute drive for me, so I have the luxury of somewhere between 3 and 300 visits a year🤓.

      @@BonsaiEcho That's great. I've found being regularly inspired is one of the most essential elements to practicing bonsai at a high level. 👍🏼

    I would love to have a California Red Wood. We don´t have huges trees like that in my country. It would be so cool if somebody has one theres is 1.5 meters tall.......lol.

      It’s been there for quite some time. Opened in 1989 by the Weyerhaeuser Corporation and now operated by a non-profit organization. I’m sure the best is still yet to come!

    Sometime can you talk about good bonsai books, both from a horticultural perspective and also aesthetic?

    • @BonsaiEcho

    Now that I’m further along, same question as to what kind of redwood was Dan’s?

    • @BonsaiEcho
      @BonsaiEcho  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same kind, just dramatically different styling. His perspective really shines!

    I really love Dan's work, but I totally get that it's not for everyone, and at the 23.58 mark I definitely broke into Queensryche 's "Jet City Woman" lol

      If we search for beauty, we will find it in everything. Even next to one of the busiest freeways on the west coast which also happens to be directly under the traffic pattern of an international airport.
