  • Velo-cardio-facial syndrome is among the most common genetic multiple anomaly disorders in humans. The syndrome is caused by the deletion of dozens of genes from chromosome 22. It was first described as a genetic mutation syndrome by Robert Shprintzen in 1978 and has been object of a number of scientific publication which have outlined the main anomalies. Very few studies though have focused on the results obtained with treatments of two of the main symptoms in this syndrome: hyper nasal speech and the serious psychiatric problems. The course's aim is to share the results that have been achieved in treating these two aspects.
