- The music of Armenia has its origins in the Armenian Highlands, where people traditionally sang popular folk songs. Armenians have had a long tradition of folk music from the antiquity. Under Soviet leadership, Armenian folk music was taught in state-sponsored conservatoires. Instruments played include qamancha (similar to violin), kanun (dulcimer), dhol (double-headed hand drum), oud (lute), duduk, zurna, blul (ney), shvi and to a lesser degree saz. Other instruments are often used such as violin and clarinet. The duduk is Armenia's national instrument.
Traditional Music Channel is for everyone who has a passion for music.
Music is an expression of human creativity. UNESCO reports that among all the performing arts, music is the most universal and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art forms and other domains of intangible cultural heritage.
Traditional forms of music are considered carriers of cultural heritage because they represent expressions and traditions transferred through generations of a community.
With recordings from more than hundred nations our collection of traditional music offers a staggering diversity of our humanity.

@@AltraChannel հայակական մշակույթը իրանականի մաս համարել - Totally wrong - culture is created by its own people - own history, tardition, life style . A nation's own culture can't be part of another's there might be some similarities but never part of each other . people who suffered genocide will express duduk differently - we are people who rised like poenix so our dance will be sharp our hands will reach the sky our feet will crack the floor . and we will always have those beautiful sad eyes that are waiting for the dawn
May the Armenian people finally find long lasting peace and prosperity.
Beautiful sceneries, great country and a people surviving thousands of years of oppression.

beautiful folk songs and music, greetings from georgia
yes. I agree. I love the sound of duduk/ I used to think duduk is the same as our balaban but I finally understood that duduk and balaban are different althought their sounds are similar. God bless Armenia. Until the recent war I hated what happened to Azerbaijanis living in Armenia and Karabakh but I now only wish peace and prosperity to my neighbors. I hope that all 3 republics of Caucasus can finally break free from Russia and make our own confederation. Sorry I got carried away but yes I love Armenian folk music.

Why is it like folk Kurdish songs & music?? i've heard so many Armenian folk musics recently, they are all very familiar with Kurdish. (With all due respect i don't mean to be a racist or something like that, i don't taught that way, but it surprised me.). Love from Central Kurdistan to Armenian Brothers ❤

Islam is our way of life for ever ..
keep your orthodox for yourself ..
98% kurds are strongly muslims ..
please don't tell lie
@@theyneedsheepslikeyou290 I mean he's right in a way. I am from Kurdistan as well, and am Kakai but in my ID Card it is wrote "Muslim". So Kurds are not %98 muslims, it is just fake numbers in lots of Arabic country like Iraq which they don't let others convert or even be their own religion because we are not recognised as an official religion alongside Yezidis. We Kurds are not %98 muslims, it's still majority though.

Armenian is really the ancestor of many modern languages, Im trying to listen out any similarity between European and Armenian I can't really find much similarity. But it sounded more middle eastern/ turkish maybe. The music is quite clear that is it from middle eastern region, the use of minor tonality and raised 6th note is very typical of Arabic, Egypt, turkish music!
You have it all twisted, Armenia is not in the Middle-East, it's in South Caucasus, Armenian Highlands, also turkish music sounds like Armenian because real turkish music is the music of Mongolia, that's where the real turks come from...turks use Armenian, Greek and Arabic instruments to sound like they are from that region, but they are not, they are from Central Asia
@@AR-ef1rs they all mixed. DONE!!!!!
these languages are similiar because they are all in indo european language family
