Milwaukee is better when you're younger (i.e. 15-25 years old). Esp. in the summer there's always a festival or someplace to go that's very inexpensive. Most of the bars and clubs are filled with college kids. When I was growing up there were many "teen clubs" too. Chicago, on the other hand, when you're younger is too expensive. But now that I'm older I feel like I like Chicago entertainment & nightlife better....Milwaukee's nightlife (because of all the college kids) makes me feel like I'm an old man even though I'm only in my late-twenties.
Yep, Toronto is much alike Chicago with Chicago in a size comparison, but I think Toronto has more population than Chicago. As for the public transportation systems there, much same because they have subway and public bus systems except Toronto has the trolley system, while Chicago doesn’t have one. As for the airport, the area at O’Hare is much bigger than Toronto. Before the COVID-19, Toronto handled almost 56 million passengers in 2019 prior to January 1, 2020 and it lost a lot of passengers to about 15 million passengers in 2020. O’Hare handled almost 87 million passengers in 2019 prior to January 1, 2020 and after that, it lost to around 35 million passengers in 2020. Thank a lot to Trump for neglecting the virus and also thanks a lot to China for not telling the truth until around early fall season in 2019. Oh well…. Anyway, yes, both Toronto and O’Hare Airports will regain more pseengers anyway.
Racine is not part of the Milwaukee area but it is part of the CSA (which has ~2 million people). Kenosha is part of the Chicago metro area because many of its residents commute to Chicago for work, but it's only 30 miles south of Milwaukee.

On a side note. Whether you knew this or is important to anyone. Milwakee also has 2 minor league teams one for hockey and a indoor soccer team. The AHL team is affiliated with the predators. And the indoor soccer team has won many championships. (Again just additional information)
The Wave For soccer and The Admirals for hockey The admirals would be major league but Chicago continuously vetos it because they’re scared it’ll take away fans which is dumb because people cheer for the wild not the Blackhawks anyway

It makes no sense that part of Chicago's metro area would be in the state of Wisconsin, and that area not be considered part of Milwaukee's metro area.
@@tjber Neither do I but I suspect it has to do with election jerrymandering. They claim the greater metropolitan area of Chicago extends north to just over the border into Wisconsin, west all the way to Rockford, South all the way to the Bourbonnais/Kankakee area, and east into Northwestern Indiana, and they claim there is around 9 million or so people in that area. How are they going to be collecting election results data for the state of Illinois, that come from the votes of people that live in other states? It's just more criminal leftist ways to rig elections using murky data sets from jerrymandered districts.
Live in Milwaukee now. I definitely like the affordability of it and the big city/small down blend you get. It seems nicer for someone who wants a city feel, but also might be overwhelmed by the sheer size of Chicago. It’s so convenient to have them so close by though. Only about 1.5 hours away, you could take a trip down there any time you want for a weekend getaway.
Unlike Chicago that built Lakeshore Drive up the coast of Lake Michigan cutting off the City from the Lake, Milwaukee had a lot of protests in the 1800s to prevent that from happening. Because of this the Lake is completely accessible on foot. It remains an integral part of the City and is the best park system. I'm talking about Maier Festival Park, Veterans Memorial Park, McKinley Marina etc.

I live in Milwaukee. There's not much comparison. Chicago is at least five times larger both in area and population. The economics are a lot different and the laws are different since they are in different states. Milwaukee has a higher crime rate per population but Chicago just feels more dangerous. The only thing they really have in common is the Lake and a mutual hatred of California sports teams.
I have never been to Milwaukee and I'm researching and comparing both cities . I have been to Chicago and I love the city . Having lived in some of the biggest cities around the World . Milwaukee gets it's name from the Potawatomis "Mahn-ah-wauk" meaning council grounds. That's why they have Summerfest. Chicago's name also has native origins. The Algonquins “shikaakwa,” meaning “striped skunk" or " Onion " because it stinks

True, as the cta blue line has both a start and terminus from ohare to forest park. Just after ohare is the Cumberland stop, a stop in Rosemont, which is not inside actual Chicago city limits, and neither is the forest park stop by 290 and desplaines ave.
I thought that too until I realized that's likely not going to ever happen due to one big reason and that's where Chicago is located. It's located legit right near a large body of water and if you look at the other 2 largest cities ahead of Chicago(Los Angeles & New York), there legit right near large bodies of water as well. I would even make the argument that Miami should be the 4th largest city instead of Houston due to it being so close to the water but I think because of the threat hurricanes and etc it isn't. There's a reason Chicago has always been in the top 3 in largest cities in population ever since the Stat was recorded and Houston likely won't ever take the 3rd spot. (Kinda like how LA and Chicago will never be number 1 in largest city in America, maybe even switching between the 2 and 3 spot at some point in time.)
Chicago, was once the second largest city in the U.S. for many decades until Los Angeles passed Chicago up in about 1982. But, at least Chicago still currently has been the number 3 city for over 40 years...

I’ve lived in Chicago my whole life, but moved to milwaukee for 4 years for school. Love both cities to death!!!!
👍
What about the Harley Davidson museum in Milwaukee. The number 1 tourist museum in visitation
I feel like a better comparison is with Toronto in terms of size and city layout among Great Lakes cities
It's a shame Michigan doesn't have a major city on Lake Michigan. Smh
Shout out to the Near West Side of Milwaukee!
Is that the section of Milwaukee around Marquette University and West Wisconsin Avenue(US Route 18)?
@@r.pres.4121 Near West side is Marquette area, I live there down the street from Pabst Mansion which is on National Historic list.
I think he forgot the Harley-Davidson mke,wi
👍
Thanks for using the correct flag in the thumbnail
I’m still waiting for the metro areas to merge
Yeah they might as well they so close not so far apart it would do so much better
New York did it why not
Racine is not part of the Milwaukee area but it is part of the CSA (which has ~2 million people). Kenosha is part of the Chicago metro area because many of its residents commute to Chicago for work, but it's only 30 miles south of Milwaukee.
Grew up on the Eastside of Milwaukee. My paternal grandfather is from Chicago. IMO, Milwaukee has more in common with Chicago than anywhere in their respective hillbilly hick states.
On a side note. Whether you knew this or is important to anyone. Milwakee also has 2 minor league teams one for hockey and a indoor soccer team. The AHL team is affiliated with the predators. And the indoor soccer team has won many championships. (Again just additional information)
The Wave For soccer and The Admirals for hockey
The admirals would be major league but Chicago continuously vetos it because they’re scared it’ll take away fans which is dumb because people cheer for the wild not the Blackhawks anyway
i love milwaukee and chicago
Milwaukee..NO place like home. Chicago is my favorite city to visit..and I have been blessed to travel globally. Still no city like it!
NY is better
Very well done. I’ve been watching a ton of city tours and comparison videos and although not a tour this video is one of the best I’ve seen fro describing and comparing all aspects of a city. My gf and I are looking to move come Nov. We both are from D.C and she is originally from Buffalo where I’m originally from Philadelphia metro area.
Nicely done, I actually live about dead center between these 2 great cities. LOL
kenosha??
Same I live in Racine
Thank god you called it the sears tower
As a person living almost smack dab in the middle distance from both cities I really appreciate this video. Thank you.
How’s the rent?
I absolutely love Chicago. I grew up in Milwaukee til I was 9 then Waukesha til I was 12. I left back to my birthplace of California and haven’t visited Milwaukee since I left in 04. I only visit Chicago.
Wow i left in 04 too
You need to go back. I grew up in MLK as well but live in AZ now. I only get back once in awhile but it's great when I get the chance to visit.
It makes no sense that part of Chicago's metro area would be in the state of Wisconsin, and that area not be considered part of Milwaukee's metro area.
Part of Indiana is also part of Chicago's metro
@@tjber That makes no sense.
@@UR_Right24 Idk why
@@tjber Neither do I but I suspect it has to do with election jerrymandering. They claim the greater metropolitan area of Chicago extends north to just over the border into Wisconsin, west all the way to Rockford, South all the way to the Bourbonnais/Kankakee area, and east into Northwestern Indiana, and they claim there is around 9 million or so people in that area. How are they going to be collecting election results data for the state of Illinois, that come from the votes of people that live in other states? It's just more criminal leftist ways to rig elections using murky data sets from jerrymandered districts.
Milwaukee gang rise up!
Yessir Milwaukee all the way
@@coolkidgamingchannel4052 yup 414 all the way
Between both large cities of Lake Michigan, it's 92 and a half miles apart when you drive through I-94.
I would love if you continued the series and compared other Midwest cities like Minneapolis or Indianapolis for example to Chicago
I second this! Would love to see some comparisons with Detroit too!
In my opinion only a few cities compare to Chicago. New York City , Los Angeles , San Francisco.
@@bobanderson9715 what about Houston?
@@bobanderson9715 Isn't LA a bunch of suburbs stitched together with no clear downtown?
Chicago wins, but I still respect Milwaukee.
Can't compare.. Chicago is too big
Yea Chicago is why to big but we have more history and we have a better sport time
Milwaukee is better.
Chicago is too big it’s like comparing apples to oranges
It’s like comparing Chicago to NYC. NYC is too big
Theres no comparison... The cities just happen to be close to each other.
And now Lakeshore State Park just south of Art Museum
I'm from Milwaukee, but I had no idea our city had a flag haha. I'm too used to seeing the Wisconsin flag.
Bruh
😳
All major cities have flags.
Chicago and Milwaukee are close to each other so is New York and Philadelphia are close too.All four are u.s. major cities.Chicago,Philadelphia,Milwaukee, and New York are really huge cities. They are in the top 25 u.s. major cities list.
ok i'm late but does anyone have the link to the music in the background? i know it's a pokemon sinnoh route 209 remix but i can't find the exact one and i'm obsessed
also great video, born n raised in MKE but enjoy occasional day trips to chicago and love our sister cityhood

GlitchxCity has a bunch of cool pokemon lo-fi remixes.
I live in Milwaukee and you missed out on the Milwaukee Admirals for Hockey
Milwaukee is better. Not nearly as much violent crime, much cheaper to live in, and pretty much all the same amenities as Chicago. Saved ya'll 10 minutes.
Young people love Chicago and all the action but it is $ and getting more. Be smart and buy a house north in Wisconsin and Milwaukee. You get more , lose less and a great place to raise a family
Milwaukee born and raised baby shoutout and one love to the CHI!!!!!
LETS GO BUCKS NBA champs
I live in Chicago but I love Milwaukee.
I have never been to Milwaukee and I'm researching and comparing both cities . I have been to Chicago and I love the city . Having lived in some of the biggest cities around the World . Truly ,Chicago is full of Charms , not just the skyscrapers , the city planners do have everyone in mind when it was planned ; the bus systems , parks , bike lanes , bus stops are designed to be convenient . Another place that comes close to Chicago planning is Honkong and Toyko .
Love living in Milwaukee so much, no reason to deal with extra expense and stress of Chicago
The foods better. Plus if you walk everywhere you don't gotta worry about parking or $6 gas
Chicagoans love you living in Milwaukee, too!
@@beanerblasphemianatakla3798 Milwaukee food is nowhere near as good as Chicago food.
@@jeromegolden7245 that's what I'm sayin!
@@jeromegolden7245 gas is only 5.97 by my apartment! My cousin paying like 6.30 in Milwaukee
Milwaukee gets it's name from the Potawatomis "Mahn-ah-wauk" meaning council grounds. That's why they have Summerfest. Chicago's name also has native origins. The Algonquins “shikaakwa,” meaning “striped skunk" or " Onion " because it stinks
Racine county is close enough to be in Milwaukee’s and Chicago’s CSA so technically both Cities do overlap
Never got that serial killer comparison
Very good point lol
Milwaukee gained population because people from Chicago are moving to Milwaukee.
Milwaukee is colder than Chicago. Chicagoans go south.
From 2010-2019 milwaukee lost population. Lol .
Can we get a Detroit and Cleveland comparison
Love your content, man! Becoming a fan!
I'm from Chicago and I absolutely love Milwaukee. I love Chicago too, but Milwaukee had a small town charm/sophisticated glamour rarely found. I've only been to Milwaukee once, and it was for a porn shoot (pre-covid mind you). And since then I've placed Milwaukee on the top of my list of cities to revisit. i could even see myself living there if I play my cards right. Chicago's flag is the best city flag in the country, tho....
Thank you for saying Sears tower instead of what ever it is called now. From Milwaukee
I bet you also remember the John Hancock Tower as well? I think that well known skyscraper is now called something else. I don't remember the more recent name. Lol..
Love visiting my neighbor to the south... wish it weren’t so crowded tho.
Very informative. Also props to your good French pronunciations
I had always thought that Racine county was a part of the Milwaukee Metro area. Either way Milwaukee is a much much better city.
Agreed
I’m from Chicago and I agree Racine County is part of the Milwaukee Metro, Kenosha County is considered the Chicago metro as it’s connected to Chicago by the Metra commuter rail. But Chicago is the better city, we have a better skyline
Much better city? Hahaha
@@joejonas3684 better food too but bears suck and crime high af
@@vellg Milwaukee's crime rate is high too
OK. They are close together. But they can't be compared. Apples and oranges. It's like saying San Francisco vs Sacramento.
Milwaukee is far better. The people ALONE make it better..
Chicagos far better then Milwaukee is a wannabe Chicago💀
Chicago, top 5 flag in the country.
Milwaukee old flag, flag is such a catastrophe it become charming. Its like an old fashion video game where you go so far to one side you pop out at the other.
New one is just good.
Sears tower..hey when you know you know!
Both have Serial killers, Chicago has John Wayne Gacy , Milwaukee has Jeffrey Dahmer.
La crosse ,wi ed Gein. Milwaukee Walter E. Ellis, and Jeff
Moving to Chicago next year. Will def visit Milwaukee if only to see some Prince history
Prince was from Minneapolis
Anyone else from Milwaukee?

MILWAUKEE IS GREAT 👍👌👏
I live exactly halfway between these 2
At 0:44 I live in the county just below Racine ... it is Kenosha County and we are still in Wisconsin; in this map it groups us into the greater Chicago land area, I wonder why that is. Spoiled to have two great cities available to us here in Kenosha
Kenosha ain't bad either. The Lake front developments over the last 10 years make it look like a tourist destination. And not to mention the GREAT public museum and Civil War museum.
How’s the rent in Kenosha?
@@noneofyourbusiness1114 none of your business 😀 jk it’s expensive tough to find a 1 bedroom apartment for less than $750 not including utilities. 3years ago might be all in at 750. 2 beds are about 1,000

@@noneofyourbusiness1114 sounds good it really is a great place to live obviously rent will be location dependent, if you want downtown near the lake 1beds are closer to 1,500 in the new and nicer facilities still a net positive from the sounds of it
Just to point one thing out: the dc metro has more riders than the L, although the dc metro serves practically the entire metro area, while combined the Chicago area has more riders since metro serves most of the suburbs
True, as the cta blue line has both a start and terminus from ohare to forest park. Just after ohare is the Cumberland stop, a stop in Rosemont, which is not inside actual Chicago city limits, and neither is the forest park stop by 290 and desplaines ave.
Why does it feel like my hometown is losing because I live in Milwaukee
Since Houston is about to pass Chicago in population you should do a video on the two.
Houston has been saying that for 20 years - can't seem to do it
I thought that too until I realized that's likely not going to ever happen due to one big reason and that's where Chicago is located.
Chicago also have the Chicago Sky Sports Team
I for one have never understood why Kenosha County gets put in the Chicago Metro.
As soon as you say Milwaukee I just think of Richie Cunningham
I think the CTA should maybe also consider street cars/trams. Just a thought.
Not even close Milwaukee seems like a medium city driving through it but love it
