Thanks a million for the dedication, I love your channel! I really struggle to accept this new festival - to me it's basically a music festival with a 'pagan' pageant tacked on. I've celebrated at Uisneach when it was virtually empty, it was free, there was no fanfare. It's great to attract the public, but there is no ritual or actual proper ceremony but a load of people dressed up like LARPers. While it's great to highlight Bealtaine, does it have to be so trivialized? It's very expensive too and it appears (to me at least) not as authentic as one might hope. I know I sound like an old humbug, but someone is makng a fortune from this important historical site - where is the sacred and the ceremony?
I agree wholeheartedly. It's the same for the Gaeltacht festival in Corcu Duibhne. Billy nic Glinns heart is in the right place to highlight the festival but it is just another 'rave' in fancy dress. Unfortunately in this day and age capitalism will rear it's head. In a small way I am glad that it has gained more attention. My reason is that even though people play a part in a 'as wished for ancient ceremony' and forget all about ( or even bother about) the true history and meaning behind the ancient site and ritual until next time they want to become 'all spiritual ', there is still a minority that will grow in numbers eventually who will (I hope) do real research into it's true history and they may disregard the commercialism.
You've given me an idea. Yvonne Lawton of Youghal had her Samhain of Blathnid ritual hijacked by the council last year. She is also the lady behind the Winter Solstice ritual in Youghal last year. Bear with me.

@@seantwomey-nr4qt I hope so, it would be good if the owners would allow a non-commercial Pagan gathering at the site for a real ceremony.
