This song, "Girls Just want to have Fun' was first sung by Cyndi Lauper on her album, "She's So Unusal" in 1984. It is a very up beat song. I loved how this version of the song was slowed down and sang so purely from these two yong ladies. It took on a new meaning to the original. Amazing vocals on both these girls. They both shine. It's too bad that Karli did not last on the show too much longer after this. I really love her "angelic" voice.
Yes, that performance blew me away. Addison sounds like the reincarnation of and old, black gospel/blues singer with a reverb (I can’t call what she does vibrato) like nothing I’ve heard from someone so young. But Karli made this one a real battle and won. Addison though was grabbed by another coach and continued in the competition where she stepped it up later with a gorgeous rendition of Angel From Montgomery.
