I get it, you did right by your client, that was the correct thing to do. Only thing I don't agree with is that he "scammed" you. I think he just wasn't competent enough to do the job as he finally ended up admitting to you. I don't think his intention going in was to take your money and not do the job. Thanks for the heads up tho. This was not good work at all.
Yeah. I’m get my money back. It’s just sad because I don’t want it to happen to anyone else. I was more disappointed of how he made my business look but thank goodness my client didn’t hold it against me and I was able to make it right.

Nothing is worse than shoddy workmanship in finish carpentry which includes paint, very sloppy and unprofessional.
