My First Trip to Banaue & Sagada

- Last January 9-11, 2024, I took a trip to Sagada with my husband, Dante, to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary :) He has been there many times and he would always tell me about how beautiful Sagada is. I was finally ready to take this 12-hour road trip with him and omg, I didn't expect to fall in love with Sagada this much. HUHU. What a magical place! It was like being in a different world, far far away from home.
The road trip begins from Makati at 1am (Tuesday morning). I also wanted to see the Banaue Rice Terraces, so we decided to pass there first before heading up to Sagada. We arrived in Sagada at 1pm. We were not rushing at all and we took our time.
When we got to Sagada, our first stop was Yoghurt House. We stayed in The Shire of Sagada on our first night and Rock Inn & Cafe for our second night. Both places were great and highly recommend :) For our meals, we ate in places like Misty Lodge, Salt & Pepper and Cellar Door. We got to drop Sagada Weaving and Sagada Pottery and met the awesome, Ms. Siegrid :) We also got to see the Hanging Coffins and Echo Valley with our guide, Kuya Mariano.
It was a very chill itinerary :) We could have seen more but we didn't want to be too tired when we would have to travel back on the road. It's okay, gives us more reason to go back. On our way home, we stopped at the Highest Point of the Philippine Highway System (but now apparently the 2nd highest).
I do hope you enjoy my little visual storybook of our Sagada trip. I am a memory-keeper addict haha! And the memories of this trip will always leave a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart :) I love Sagada.
