    I would be better off living in a van, and or an rv it's much cheaper rather than paying out rages amounts of rent, no way!

    I love watching your videos. Your voice is very soothing. I get very relaxed and HUNGRY every time I watch them. I could watch you cook all day. You make the most delicious looking food, but affordable. I agree with you about rent. As soon as my lease is over in August I will be done paying rent, one way or another. I would like to find a little piece of unrestricted land to park a van on. I'm glad you are back on TH-cam. Thank you for sharing your story and van life with us

    This video is on point about the astronomical prices of rent! It’s getting to be insane! 🤯 I share the same goal as you… to purchase my own land, and build a homestead. Taxes on land are also skyrocketing, but as you’ve mentioned, owning land is the closest thing to ownership in this country. Great video!✨

    That Baked Ziti looks phenomenal Chef! There is no way I could afford $3000 a month here in Virginia. That’s more than double my mortgage. I’ve been paying my mortgage for 10 years now, and it’s barely seen a dent on the principal. You don’t see any significant payoff until the last like 7 years on a 30 year mortgage. I’ve thought quite a lot about exactly what you’re saying. I too, want to sell this house and live on a small plot of land. Great video!

    This is a great video! Years ago I stumbled across a website called early retirement extreme - and he later published a book with the same name. The first chapter of the book is about being wage slaves. That changed my life and how I looked at things and money. At least at one point, one could see the first chapter in Amazon book preview.

    While the base numbers vary across the country, the local wages make this true all over. I’ve been disabled for 30 years, so not only could I not save much money, I couldn’t put as much into my Social Security, either. Add divorce, and I’ve been “very low income,” even with adoption subsidies for my now teens, for 10 years. My rent hasn’t skyrocketed like some, thanks to rent control, but it’s still 60% of my income. Kids graduate in June, my income drops to 1/3, and my choices are the worst senior housing or homelessness for me. Traveling is my best bet, and lots more fun besides! Land would be lovely, but all my $$ goes to keep my van running. When I can’t drive anymore, not sure what I’ll do.
    The food looks great!

Thanks for sharing with us CK and your ziti looks great. I do the same thing as far as using less water to cook my pasta.

    Great info. You hit the msg right on the mark. All the costs and deposits for renting an apartment when you can just buy your own land and not be subjected to the incredible increases each year. It’s the best option in my opinion as one enters the wiser years. So, the baked ziti looks good. Q. What’s your take on putting oil in the water while the pasta boils? I saw someone doing this. Q. What’s your thoughts on propane single stove vs. induction single top? How does it work with your cooking style? BTW….I’m sitting here with an empty plate and a fork waiting for that Ziti to make. 🥣

    • @cheflifevanlife
      @cheflifevanlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks you! I personally never use oil in the water. I had a instructor in culinary school lose his mind when he saw someone doing that. 🤣 But really it makes the sauce less able to stick to the noodles. So I don't do it.
