The radio playing Sonny and Cher as well as the dj banter is my wake up alarm. It is my personal inside joke on the need to get up and go to work every day....
I love that! I wish I could figure out how to do the same.
Harold's last name has been pronounced 3 different ways.
Does that mean it's AI?
Yes. The wayward intonation of "Punxsutawney Phil", along with other weird intonations, gives it away entirely.
@@mediapark101 I was wondering if I was alone thinking that. In a way I'm glad we can still sort of tell when it's AI but for how long...?
Yeah, most channels like this mass produce the same video in multiple languages and the channel creators aren't always English speakers. Change your settings to Spain and you can find the same video with an AI Spanish voice, or set to Japan for a Japanese AI narration. AI probably wrote the script too, sounds like basic random facts you can find on any fanpage, magazine articles or Wikipedia, there's no personality or independent thoughts/opinions.
@@L_o_c_a_l_G_u_y seems more likely that an AI would pronounce it consistently (assuming it’s the same AI throughout).
The car that the old ladies got a flat tire in was NOT a Cadillac. It was a 1968 Dodge Dart.
Funny how the pronunciation of Ramis changes throughout the video. Sometimes it's a long A and sometimes a short A.
The "A" in "AI" has trouble with "A"s, apparently.
Haha that's true. It's Harold Ray-miss. My friends think it's Uncle Remis. I'm like no.
10000% I was thinking the same thing
Due to the awful AI voiceover. As a human wouldn’t that. If they do, they’re stupid. But I know this is AI.
Harold RAYmus was pleased, Harold RAHmus seemed to be upset, and Harold RAHmees was really annoyed.
These types of videos need a disclaimer when an AI narrator is being used. That's probably 90% of TH-cam at this point.
Why ! Don't like it ? Don't watch... !
@@2msvalkyrie529A.I. says what? 😂
Every other time it pronounces RAMIS differently.
@@kbsanders agreed. AI is HORRIBLE and shouldn't be used to narrate anything. It's funny at first but then gets irritating and makes you want to stop watching.
@2msvalkyrie529 "Why? Don't like it? Don't watch!" 🤣😂 here's a hint AI driven comment; most people quickly realize it is indeed AI by the easy pronunciation mistakes and find something else to watch...
Enough with the LAZY chat gpi AI BOT videos - put some bloody effort into your videos.
EXACTLY! This just took a few keystrokes. Pisses me off. They could at least QC the outcome.
Right! Hire a human to read the script.
Downvote all ai
😎🍿
It's actually quite amazing that this movie didn't just have influence on americans, but also worldwide. Even in Germany the german name of the movie has become a figure of speech, even people who don't know the movie or haven't watched it (which is almost impossible) immediately understand what is meant.
AI voices still don't sound real
I just had the pleasure of playing Buster, the Groundhog Elder in a recent production of 'Groundhog Day The Musical'. Got good reviews, too! WHAT A SHOW! It takes everything we already love and expands it for the stage. The music is incredibly clever and the characters are so fleshed out that the Ned Ryerson character sings one of the saddest songs in Musical Theater. It is incredibly complex and hence, will not be produced a lot. If you have a chance, RUN to see the musical version. It makes the storyline even more timeless....
Every time you re-watch Groundhog Day, you are living Groundhog Day.
And now I need to watch it again.
"...women in the Cadillac..." It's a Dodge there, Einstein!
I'm sorry, growing up in the 1970's/'80's...every time you say "Gobbler's Knob"...i giggle. 🙃
Me too...like a preteen.
23:27 That Cadillac is a Dodge Dart.
At 23:28 the "women in a Cadillac" are actually in a 1968 Dodge Dart.
literally watched this last weekend.. for the 100th time..
I enjoy the work of both Harold RAM-is and Harold RAY-mis.
😎🍿
I always had a problem with it being daylight at 6 am. I am from PA so I know how dark it is that time of year.
I've been watching it every Feb. 2nd for decades. Yesterday was the first time I realized that if Phil had just finished the evening news (6:30), leaving the ten o'clock (it would have been 11 in Pittsburgh) to another weather reporter, it would have been dark for the entire trip to Punxy. Then with the bright sun at 6 am the next day I was too distracted to let suspension of disbelief set in.
Murray and Ramis were "reunited" in Ghostbusters:Afterlife.
As Feb 2 is my birthday - I grew up thinking this movie would be my dream come true. 🎉
Thank you for making this video just in time for Groundhog Day 2025! :DDD
For some reason it is one film I can watch again and again.
Those days all Murray`s movies became popular and classics.
Enjoyed that an I've subscribed. Very interesting :)
Thanks 👏😀
We have a lot of interesting things ahead of us😎🍿
Just watched this 2 days ago. I'm from 20 miles away from Punxy. 😊
Now I know where I've seen him! I think Chris Elliot was in Doritos or Tostitos commercials, trying to get a refund, but every time he opened the bag, all the employees started dancing
Boss Level starring Frank Grillo is about a guy living in a time loop but for his day to restart he has to die, and he dies a LOT in a some very creative ways, a lot of trial and error, like the many attempts to perfectly time landing in a truck-bed driving past beneath his window minutes after his day starts. Imagine John Wick reliving his worst day being killed by professional assassins over and over again, that's Boss Level.
The only mistake was Ramis not punching Murray in his teeth.
I like how this movie isn't repetitive
Gobbler's Knob 😆 Groundhog Day is a classic. Such a brilliant film. I believed towards the end of the movie, Phil realized he had to change and become a better person to escape the time loop. For the scenes which Phil relives the same days and moments, I thought they must have done many different takes.
For me this film reflects a reflection on life in general where everyday life is often repetitive.
A call for daily creativity. Plus it's a film that I saw at the cinema with a new girlfriend and that we rewatched or remembered every year until her death...
I absolutely love this film. Harold Ramis was a great filmmaker. (Loved him as Egon ofcourse) for some reason I always connected this movie with the holidays.
Chris Elliot was best known as "The Guy Under The Seats" from Late Night With David Letterman. He got his start as a comedian appearing in skits on the Late Night talk show coming out from under the audience seating and starting petty arguments with Dave criticizing the quality of the monologue.
Didn't even know Chris Elliott was on Letterman I remember him from his show get a life and the movie the cabin boy. Also his appearance is there's something about Mary.
@@lucyfuir6386 I still get the theme song Stand from Get A Life by REM stuck in my head, I liked Chris and watched Letterman almost every night. The song Stand was parodied by Weird Al for his movie UHF as "Spam".
Chris was a production assistant and writer for Letterman from 1982-1990, he also did occasional stand up and was offered a job with SNL but turned it down. Get A Life was his first professional acting job after leaving New York for LA.
I forget. Was that before or after "The Fugitive Guy"?
I just liked the implications of the movie on life. How much of a work career is just groundhog day which only lasts a few decades. GHD implied it lasted far longer.
This. The implication that we all live some level of GHog dayiasm & each new day is a reset and an opportunity to do life better than yesterday.
The AI narration pronounces Harold Ramis’ name at least three different ways. 🙄
It’s very disheartening knowing that this was the last film that Harold Ramis and Bill Murray would work together after Harold Ramis passed away.
BEEP BEEP AI voice alert. Use your own voice or find a friend. I don't care how good this is, I am sick of hearing these awkward pronunciations of simple words and accents falling on wrong syllables.
I noticed an inconsistency years ago- Debbie Kleiser (sp?) is introduced with her fiancé Fred. And, once married, it’s Fred and Debbie Kleiser. More often than not, the bride adopts her groom’s surname. Would have been neat to finally learn Fred’s last name.
The narration of this video is awful. There are weird pauses, and the narrator pronounces Harold Ramis' name different ways in the same same sentence. The video is an interesting premise, but I couldn't finish it because of the horrible AI narration.
What a snowflake. 😂
"the role went to a real groundhog" hopefully you set that straight as the whole world was so sure they hired warwick davis for the role
This time loop last longer than the Multivers in a heartwarming way❤
I hugely enjoyed this video, and now I have to watch the movie again, which I saw on release in LA and many subsequent times, the most memorable in 2013, on TV in the middle of the souk in Marrakech. My favorite aspect is the unexpected depth of Murray's character development. His foul behavior on sets is well documented all over the industry, but his talent is undeniable. Thanks for an excellent look at an old friend.
thanks for the great comment👏😀
I have already seen this
And several times too.
I think i have seen this before.
Where?
@@Movies_Inside_Out I will tell you tomorrow
🤔
@@Movies_Inside_Out hmmm I have a dejavu
Considering the task at hand, the inconsistencies noted were so minor. I would have never noticed them. Even when you point them out, I agree, they do not take away from the film. A February tradition.
Chris Elliott and Bill Murray were also good friends.
Top documentary , thanks.
Thanks 👏😀
Tori Amos would have been a lot more fun than Andie McDowell.
AM was the most boring choice those days.
I think ground hog day , was her best film.
I think ground hog day, was her best film.
This is is the time I knew it was groundhog day. Normally I forget! Now i gotta watch the movie.
I always found it kind of creepy how he kept trying to find ways to manipulate her into liking him when she obviously did not.
Totally! And, I always say “no matter how he manages to become her perfect guy- there is still the way he was YESTERDAY, imagine that level of a 360 degree turnaround IN ONE DAY!”
In the '90's, I was teaching English at a high school in the Czech Republic. I found a VHS tape (dubbed into Czech), then played clips from the movie. My students job was to give me a synopsis of what had happened in each clip in English.
“Phil?!”
“Ned?!?”
*punch*
Bing!
Well in Scooter! :)
No one mentioning the groundhog's house name? Gobbler's knob! 😂😂😂
Loved that movie! It may not have been the first movie about a time loop, but it really played out fantastically, especially in its underlying view-of-life narrative.
Sad it couldn't occur in PA. B Murray is a good actor but........🥺🥺
0:54 Listen to the AI voice slip into a hoity-toity British accent when saying "1990".
Happy Groundhog Day ❤
See also 12:01 P..M. , a short film.
I love The Abyss but you did Chris Elliott dirty here.
Definitely ❤❤❤
i forgot what date groundhog day was, you should have uploaded this tomorrow.
'member when movies were good ?
My goodness, take a drink every time he says “Harold Ramis”. I think it’s customary, after you’ve established the full name, to refer to them only by their last name going forward. Otherwise, great video. :)
Thanks👏
@ Harold Ramis.
This film should only be revered,
I think Bill Murry one of the best comedy actors ever. It's sad he's such an a-hole in real life.
I’d love to see you do a video on What About Bob…..
Yet another great video
Thanks again!👏😀
Such a great movie. Although the car you referred to that had a flat tire was not a Cadillac. It looks like a Plymouth.
I found it repetitive 😂😂😂😂
23:25 in. He said the women in the Cadillac with a flat tire.. That's a late 60's Dodge Dart. Also an oddity in narration here. lol Great video though.
I wish you wouldn't use that horrible filter that splits the colours, all the way through, very annoying to look at
Chris Elliot was known for a LOT more than the Abyss ... jesus man ! wake up !
Yeah, get a life.
Mispronouncing one of the main peoples name in the story is the best way to show you have no idea what you're actually talking about & are just reading words you found on the internet. Regardless if it's A.I. or not. First and last thing I'll be watching from such a content regurgitator.
Dude, decide on which way to pronounce Ramis. (it's a long A, btw) ...you're literally switching within the same sentence
Sad , most of these people are dead 😞
"Harold Ramis"
Ramis became a pro at taking a cool concept and turning it into money. Unfortunately his movies are comfy money makers and artistry goes out the window. I would love to see a Harold project without Harold. Movies today would still have integrity and be so much better
Jacque Brel's (French) line in the movie is:
"La fille que j'aimera
Sera comme bon vin
Qui se bonnifiera
Un peu chaque matin"
Your translation was correct, only the french you quoted was a different verse from the same song
you are right 😊👍
@Movies_Inside_Out thank you for the video my friend!
23:27 Not a CadiIIac.
Let's be honest: there's so much about this relatively little movie that makes it amazing, but Andie McDowell's performance is clearly its lowest point
okay, i love Groundhog Day, and find this subject very interesting, but simply cannot watch this youtube video for more than 5 minutes because of the incredibly grating...stock organ music? in the background, and the...AI (?) narrator? If this narrator isn't AI, then buddy...you gotta learn how uh, humans talk. sorry to be so harsh i'm just like damn, was ready to buckle in for 30 minutes of Groundhog Day facts but instead i was actually in for 5 minutes of irksome drivel followed by 2 minutes of a rant-like youtube comment to type lol
Listening to this narrator alter his pronunciation of director Harold Ramis' (correctly pronounced "RAY-mus", not "ram-US") surname, and to refer to the other actors by their surnames, only, yet always using Harold Ramis' first and surnames became so distracting, I stopped watching about a third of the way through the video.
I'm not sure if I'm nitpicking the video or not, but one thing I am sure of, is that the narrator and his idiosyncratic style made it very difficult to watch.
😎🍿
Fire fighting foam? AFFF?
Please remove the chromatic abbreviation effect, it hurts eyes
Well I'm not sure about that vampire lestat part.the screen writer has said this is a budist concept of living over and over again not vampire heh.originally he's supposed to be stuck there for ten thousand years while the director figured he lived the same day for 10 years
Are You using AI for only half of your video, or is the AI chatbot actually pronouncing Harold Ramis name wrong half the time? That is one of the most distracting things I have ever heard.
Rammis, Ramis, who cares right? Why make a video with correct information?
Is it Ramis, Remmis, or Ræmis?
Vampire Less tat…totally AI
AI schlock.
too long intro and "background" music way too loud and distracting.
Good god, how many different ways can this AI narrator pronounce "Ramis"? Absolutely butchered "Ric Ducommun", haha.
Ai slop. Blocked. Reported.
😎🍿
The music is too loud.
