00:00 Did you see Braun call that time out late? Did you see Braun call that time out late? 00:07 GARY PAYTON II: The other three guys didn't see it, so I guess that's all that matters. 00:11 How frustrating is this moment for you? Obviously, five straight losses and the way these losses are being made. 00:21 I probably wouldn't say too much frustrating, just early in the season. We gotta figure out the kinks. So I'd rather it be now than later. So we clean it up now. Just to get back to executing at a high level, like we were doing five games before, but we were still executing in the last five games. But just do it for 48 minutes instead of having stints where we get cold and stagnant. So we just gotta continue to execute and continue to show our hands on defense. 00:49 You were obviously able to come back. How are you feeling? 00:52 I'm good. A little hyperextended, but it's all good. It's a little stinger, but I'm cool. 00:56 They finished on a 10-0, 11-0 run at the end there. How would you describe the final two-plus games? 01:02 Like I said, just gotta get back to executing, continue to do what was working for us right before that, moving the ball, flying around on defense, just making it tough for them and getting out and going and doing what we do on the other side. So we just gotta stick to it, even if it's boring or whatnot, but continue to do what got us the lead. 01:21 What jumps out to you when Jonathan's at the 4-spot, about his game? 01:25 You said what? 01:25 What jumps out to you when JK's at the 4-spot, about his game? 01:29 4, 3, 2, JK gets downhill. We try to put him in a situation to get downhill, bring his body. A lot of guys are crowding the paint now when they see him. So just having him with the ball in hand, downhill, make plays for us. Either that's at the rim or kicking out to shooters. 01:46 One of the biggest factors tonight was denver getting to the line. You guys put them on the line - 01:53 35 times. 01:54 Yeah, free throws. How much more discipline is required to avoid situations like that? 02:03 Yeah, like you just said, it's just being disciplined. Try to do our work early so we don't get in those situations where we do have to foul and make them earn it at the line. So just continue to do our work early, be there on rotations like we were doing and like Coach is saying, execution. So we get back to executing, I think it'll help our defense, actually, out a lot. 02:24 Gary, Steve went with 10 guys tonight, obviously you had no Draymond, but just the other night he went 13, and he said he was thinking about shortening the rotation. What's it been like, just shuffling in and out, not just you, but everybody, as he tries to search for the right combination? 02:39 Just stay ready. Like he said, it could be 3, 4 minutes that you're out there. It could be 6, 7. So just go out there, do everything you can, give it your all and when you come out, he's probably gotta put you back in, so give everything you got, execute, when the line change, just be ready. 02:56 What's the locker room like when you guys lose five straight games? 03:00 Yeah, we're good. We know what it is we got. Double-digit lead in all those games that we end up coming short. So like I said, continue to stay with our execution. Go back to it, prep, prep, prep, reps, continue to just drill the execution and come back out. We got a lot more games left, so just try to clean it up from here. 03:24 Draymond has talked a little bit about how he and Steph have been in Brandin's ear, just encouraging him as the season hasn't really played out the way that he might have liked. As another veteran on the team, have you had conversations with him about the way he's playing and what he needs to do? 03:40 Yeah, he's a young player, so he's still trying to figure everything out. It's his second year, so he has two great guys giving him confidence and helping him, especially 30 on offensive side, trying his - finding his spots and knowing when to attack, when to be aggressive, knowing when to be aggressive to play-make and and continue just to find his rhythm. Yeah, he's been shooting not the ball well, but he does everything else great for us. So we try to tell him don't beat up yourself just for the offensive part. You do everything - a lot of different stuff well, so the shots will come. You guys are great. 04:19 Brandin, I don't know if you've gotten a chance to see a clip of Steve talking post game, but he was pretty direct in his assessment of the way you played tonight and, just in terms of playing smart, eliminating a couple turnovers and avoiding fouls on three-point shooters, how would you evaluate the way that you played tonight and what would you respond to Steve's quote? 04:53 BRANDIN PODZIEMSKI: I mean, I agree. I played poorly, defensively, I think. I think there was just a point defensively where I was just kind of pressing too much and trying too hard. I think one of the turnovers I had where I threw it to Trayce, I could have bounced it to him earlier. The other one to Wiggs just kind of slipped out of my hands when I was throwing it. But, like I said, I think I was just trying too hard defensively, just kind of stick with Michael Porter and end up fouling him twice. Definitely not like me and definitely something I'm not proud of. And I know when they kind of made their runs, it was because of me either fouling or turning the ball over. So I know I gotta be better. I know I gotta be better. And it just sucks we didn't win. 05:41 I mean, do you feel like you're, like you said, kind of pressing up or trying to make the home run? 05:46 No, I don't think offensively. I think offensively I was fine, two turnovers. I thought I was fine there. I think, I tried to make the right play as much as I could. I think defensively is where I was pressing a little bit, but offensively I felt fine. 06:03 As a team, where do you feel like you guys are getting disjointed when you have these lulls and some of these turnovers and these stretches as you guys have had these last few games? 06:13 It's a good question. I feel like if we had an answer, we wouldn't have lost five in a row, whatever it is now. We just gotta figure some things out and it's piecing together. We've had a bunch of leads going into fourth quarters, second-half leads. So we'r re more than capable and we're doing it for a majority of the game. And now it's just putting it together for the whole 48 minutes. And that's pretty much all I got for you on that one, just because if we knew what the answer was, I think we would have fixed it by now. 06:47 What's the overall vibe of the locker room right now? How would you maybe compare it to some of the tougher times last year? 06:52 It's a great vibe right now. Everybody's staying together. Everybody loves each other. Our chemistry is great, definitely 10 times better than last year. We're all pulling for each other, even through this little skid here. Everybody's had each other's back. And so, as a player, what that does for you is just, lets you remain confident and bring what you bring to the table every night. And everybody's just kind of there for one another, which is something you need during a losing streak. 07:23 On the Porter close-outs, those that you would like to have back, what's like the scout on him in terms of how to close out the end? He has kind of an unconventional - 07:33 Yeah, that's gotta be a hot close-out. If he was to score tonight, it'd be off the dribble, no catch-and-shoots for him. And so the one late in the game where I missed the three and then I came down and I was kind of, I was on Jokic in the post, in transition, Wiggs like tried to kick me out and I was trying to get there, and then we both ran. And I should have contested to the side, made a runoff, but I ended up landing in his space as well. So that one and then I think the one he shot that I followed him on the elbow and I barely grazed him, I wasn't trying to follow him, but I did hit him on the elbow. So, just to make him bounce and score is what really we had in mind. And I think we limited him to only three threes, but obviously two of the five, technically he got fouled on by me. So I gotta be better and I know I'll be better. And I know Coach and the staff trust me to be better on that first one. 08:33 You and Steve kind of had a long conversation on the side. What exactly was that about? I think some of seemed to be you guys were maybe debating if you did (foul him). 08:41 Nah, he was just like, "If you didn't foul him, let me know. If you did, let me know that as well." But it was more so he was just kind of getting on me to do my job, know what I'm supposed to be doing out there. And he's like, "If you can't do your job, I'm gonna pull you out." And I think I followed it up with a floater, a drop-kick swing to Wiggs for a wing three and then a pull-up jump shot. And so he just got on me a little bit, which I'm all for, I'm trying to get better. He knows he can get on me and I'm not gonna respond emotionally and I'm just gonna go out there and hoop. And amidst the bad things that are glaring, because we lost, I think me and the guys, we did a lot of great things, tonight. I think Moses was great, GP was great. And so we're gotta need that, especially playing the same team twice, two times.
Lets go warriors! Close game! We almost had em! Lets get it! We'll get em next time! Be careful guys lets take care of everyone who is injured and playing injured! Just wishing the best for the warriors! Win or lose I'll be here every game! I support you all!!
