I think the issue(atleast for me) with the collab between Glo and gospel artists and Nicki Minaj with gospel artist is that sadly they are both sex symbols which wasn’t the case for most secular female artist such as Salt and Pepper back then. Plus I do think there is a difference of doing a gospel song with a retired secular artist than with one who is still very active in the hip hop genre which is very sexual and talks about drugs. Speaking of drugs we see a consequence of this when Nicki Minaj went off the rails for 72 hours and stated how Tasha Cobb would defend her. Obviously as a gospel artist you do not want to be linked to that.
