I knew someone who can''t read a score line would whinge about this. 🙄Highlights. The goal (not always achieved) is to show the exciting points. Pro tip: they show the score, should help with the confusion.
That means Marta made a lot of unforced errors in the game in the crucial moments.

Honestly both. Her grip expert coach is really helping make subtle yet major changes to her technique and it's making her more solid. She's also back to exploding into her serve and using her legs
She's gotten better and gone up another level. She did change coach. Brad Gilbert helped her this season but her new coach for only two weeks is a grip expert so maybe the helped her swing?
Not being careful. She is being more confident and slight grip changing is adding to success. Her serves were still very big.

The goal should be to simply try and show the 'best' points, not to try to show a distribution of points that reflects the final scoreline.

It's not the same watching highlights after the match vs live. The excitement is gone knowing the result. Still it's cool to see how the match was won.
The us open really irked my nerves during those championships . The would always post the winner in the thumbnail, so tacky 😂

The worst highlights of the year.
I’m old enough to remember so many matches where all the commentators did was talk about Serena looking a little fat, or a little slow, or being disinterested because she had off court activities, about her serve (as though it wasn’t the best in history) I could go on and on. They do the same thing in Gauff matches - they spend the whole time talking about what amazing shots Marta was making - Meanwhile she didn’t even win a set. LOL. With how scrappy Venus played they used to do it to her all the time. Keep your head up COCO you’re a star and proving it on the court!

I also watched it. This isn’t true. They praised gauff in this match just as much if not more than kostyuk. Now this highlight on the other hand doesn’t show cocos best points and whomever edited this is to blame for that.

The Beijing-Champion, the 8-match-win-streak, this version of Coco Guaff is a joy to watch, and it's awesome that she is finishing the season in this manner.
I’m under the impression when watching the highlights and listening to the commentators that they don’t really like COCo cause how with a score like that in the match you show me mostly Kostiuk points. They don’t t even hide . Racism at his finess.
This umpire is racist. This umpire hates white people. He favors black people and he is officiating matches so that black tennis players won.
Not taking anything away from Coco. She played really well this match she literally obliterated the second set but a lot of her points won came from an unforced error on Marta’s racket, and that doesn’t look as impressive in a highlight reels. You could also watch the highlight from Toronto where coco lost to Diana shnaider where coco was predominantly feature in the clip even though she lost.
finally....she has solidified a new level... you can see it in her forehand..... 2025 watchout! And Coco is the fastest on the tour! The serve is now serving and her backhand was always an asset and now the forehand is clear on the runway.... Go Team Coco Go! She could win this tourney too!

Is this the official WTA highlight reel? If so, there is a great deal of bias against Coco, somewhere in the organization. These highlights do a great job of showing only the points she did not win. This highlight reel was Garbage.

Saw this match live. Kotsyuk is a solid player but inconsistent at times. She does not have the power to push people off the court. Her balls were short and slower and gauff ate them up. Forehand looks better but since she wasn’t pressured it was a field day. Her 2nd serve looks relaxed and have good clearance. Against stronger hitters that’s where she falters usually and mental decline sets in. But let’s see with the new coach

I watch the whole match. She just didn't want to celebrate much, specially because of some players' sensitivity. However, she took selfies with the fans and signed tons of balls and other items presented by the fans. Look up a comment above by a fan who was at the stadium. Like everybody is saying, these highlights are so terrible.
I love how all the other players on tour shake hands and hug Russian/Belarusian players.
Why don’t the Ukrainian players get annoyed by that? Shows how hateful they are and should be showing love instead of bad sportsmanship.

@@whitekeyboard14 no that's not their logic, their logic is they don't want the Kremlin using photos of them hugging Russian players as propaganda to pretend that all is good between the two countries, especially if they lose to a Russian player. At least that's what my understanding is from what Svitolina has said. So they would have no problem with other players hugging Russians. Kostyuk has a more extreme position however, Svitolina doesn't speak for her.

The Ukranians have no problem with their friends being friends with Russians. For example Ostapenko is doubles partners with Ukranian Kichenok but it is well known she is friends with Potapova too. You are envisioning them as caricatures instead of real people which is wrong

China with high technologies can't take 1080 video. Shame
Blame the WTA, not China. The cameras China is using are as good as in any other 1000 event. At a minimum, they're 4K 60fps - possibly even 8K 120fps. But the WTA won't encode any of their highlight videos higher than 720p 25fps. Many of us have complained in the WTA highlight video comments, but it appears the comments have been ignored.
ATP encodes at 1080p 30fps (sometimes 60fps). What's disappointing is that this is yet another reason some people use to denigrate women's tennis. Really wish the WTA would at least encode at 1080p 30fps.
@@BassByTheBay This might reflect the WTA's revenues being much lower than the ATP's. It also probably doesn't help that the WTA is also using a significant portion of it's revenue to subsidise prize money at events below Grand Slam level.
@@sjake8308 I thought about the cost difference, but there's no storage limit with a TH-cam premium account (1080p files would be larger), and it's hard to believe the WTA wouldn't pay a measly $170/year for that. I get pinching pennies, but they exceeded 1 billion in viewership last year. It's hard to believe they're hurting that bad financially.

This umpire once again proved that he is Coco Gauff favorer. This braindead chair umpire only for Kostyuk called all the shots as outs and only for Gauff called all the shots as ins. This braindead chair umpire as usual favors Gauff, just because she is black. Thomas Sweeney is the most biased chair umpire ever. His decisions were biased and unfair towards Kostyuk. No matter what Kostyuk did or where made her shot, this braindead chair umpire called those shots as outs and awarded all the points to Gauff.
