    Actors, as a casting director this is one of THE biggest mistakes I see actors make in the self-tape and zoom room auditions! Framing yourself the right way for your live zoom room auditions is key to engaging us on the casting side because it makes your the focal point of your audition.
    Too many actors are still struggling with:
    🌟Instantly correcting their framing without apologizing
    🌟Framing themselves the right way
    🌟Horizontally framing their full body in their slates
    Check out my quick framing tip to help you build confidence in your virtual auditions.

    That’s so funny because, we can see ourselves on camera and the fact that some of us miss this tiny bit of direction, speaks volumes about our ability to take direction on set. Thank you for sharing this! 💕👏

      @@melmackstudio Honestly, I am just now, in my life, considering acting at 38 yrs young, so literally EVERYTHING is new and foriegn to me. I have done a few stand up comedy bits in clubs but nothing with acting yet. I have just watched ALL of your videos, and this evening I will be trying my very first audition tape.

    How much body is ideal to include in tapes? Tapes vs in person has been tricky for me haha - chest up? Or waist up?

    • @melmackstudio
      @melmackstudio  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's great to get head to toe if you can because on the casting side we need it to get the full physical picture. yes they are tricky for sure! There are two dates to choose from Nov 4th: us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_UjOmh6CXRAKG-vc3FY3Uvg and Nov 11th hosted by my casting director friend in Philly Kathy Wickline: www.wicklinecasting.com/virtual-events. How do you feel about auditions being authentic. Like dressing the part , props . Jenna Ortega got her role for Wednesday because she already kinda came on scene because she had the fake blood on her self already from another movie that she filmed do you think that that would be a good audition for someone who is not Jenna Ortega

    • @melmackstudio
      @melmackstudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel it's up to the actor. Sometimes I see actors over dress the role vs "suggesting" the role. For example if you're auditioning for a doctor you don't want to wear full scrubs, but a blue v neck t-shirt would work. In Jenna's case do you know if she had time to change? Sometimes a situation like this can work for you and other times casting sees it as "trying to hard" because a lot of actors focus too much on the props or dressing the role, vs really embodying the story and how they feel about what's being said or done to them by the other character. At the end of the day if the prop, fake blood, wardrobe are our focal point then the actor isn't doing their job on the acting side of their performance. The props etc should always be there to enhance not take over the audition. Make sense?

    The fact that you aren't in landscape mode is questionable.
