Captain America *
😅
Captain Clarence
Was this movie, and that scene, where the whole "mic drop" thing originated?
@@krashd No, it started in the 80es.
to this day the whole "Clarence" rhyme scheme is fucking cold
I'm a 51 yr old Southern white lady & I LOOOOVE this movie so much! It's not just about rap. It's the story of someone trying to overcome his circumstances.
Respect
One of my favorite movies.
as a 44 year old hunk of godness let me know when you enter the netherlands :)
dude, eminem somehow won a rap battle by dissing himself and praising his opponent
@@instantchaos2385 Genius!
It's very loosely based on his life. You have to watch the movie to get the full references including why they call him Bunny Rabbit. It's a great movie!
He was nicknamed Mickey irl. But they changed it to rabbit, I'm assuming to avoid having to pay big bucks to Disney. Lol
I've been watchin u girly u becomin one of my favorite reaction channel !! Girl power!! ❤
You can listen to the actual rap Olympics he won, and the CD dr dre heard. Theyre both on TH-cam.
@@joesephkroll2056 I don't think he won, because he felt bummed that he didn't care to give his CD to someone but didn't know the person worked for Dr Dre.
@Alfredo You are right. He came in 2nd. According to the Icons documentary, Dre and Jimmy Iovine, found his mixtape. Except, it was actually a mixtape. It was a cassette. You couldn't make cds on your own before 2000.
Anthony Mackie in the end was actually shook because Eminem used stuff from his real life and didn’t tell him before the scene.
No one has ever been under more pressure in a movie than Papa Doc in that last scene. 😂
I remember what Roger Ebert said about "8 Mile".
"This is an inspirational film that might actually inspire someone."

Great line! I love this scene so much and I’ve see dozens of reactions. Britt is the only one who nailed everything B-Rabbit was going for in the last battle. Amazing reaction!
Man imagine being alive during Eminem’s rise and actually living in Detroit and witnessing him at rap battles. What a crazy experience that would be
I grew up in Detroit but moved right when this stuff would have been going on. I remember when Em came on the scene when I was in highschool and it just blew everyone’s minds.
I believe Eminem is originally from Kansas City but he moved to Detroit when he was very young. Not sure if it's true
@@RonaldJames-eo2hc Indiana
lol dont get shot
Born and raised in Detroit and still reside here. I’m 53. I never seen his rap battles but heard of them. Before Em made it big, Detroit knew all about him first ( that’s why he still lives here and is loyal to his Detroit fans). I met him back in 97, he was so cool and cute. I still remember when they filmed 8 Mile, Fun fact, 8 mile is real, it’s an actual road (I lived on 15 mile). I sure would have loved to see the rap battles though, I know people that did get to see them.
Girl if you haven’t seen the movie yet, please watch it! Some parts are based on his real life. I loved your reaction to this!
Wonder why would anybody watch 8-mile ending rap battles first time and then the actual movie. I mean why not... but it kinda ruins first time movie experience.
The genius of Em. He actually researched Mackie's bio and used it to inspire those shook looks for the film. Battle rapper through and through.
That was his actual school? Mackie's? I didn't knew that
@Deminus no but he did go to a private school and had a privileged life, which inspired the lines. Mackie laughed about it in an interview saying "yeah my parents loved me, I didn't know that was a diss" or something along those lines lol
@@jamesp6595yeah of course he grew up rich he’s an actor lol
This isn't real it's a movie dummy
@@Jiff321 Well not every actor is born in a rich family.
This woman is absolutely gorgeous! She has a face that should be on the silver screen!
One of the comments Eminem heard the most during the time he was coming up was "Before you, there was only Vanilla Ice doing white rap!" which is why Vanilla Ice is mentioned during the that first rap and why he himself brings it back a couple of times during his own raps.
But, Eminem himself used to tell people "Vanilla Ice wasn't the first, the BEASTIE BOYS were!" in fact, all those back ground voices Eminem does on his songs are a direct nod to the Beastie Boys' way of flowing from one to another.
But for some reason, people tend to forget that the Beastie Boys are white.
I honestly haven't seen a single one of their rap tracks, I only know their rock songs, are they worth a deeper dig?
@@Theoldenmage They sure are, here's a couple of titles:
- Sure shot
- Hey Ladies
- Three MC's and one DeeJay
- Intergalactic
Beastie Boys REVOLUTIONIZED music!
@Rasta Paul Revere also
Kid Rock was a rapper too.
Eminem is truly a legend in the rap battle scene. It exists, and he dominated it. The movie is obviously Hollywood, but Em is legit in the rap battle game. Love him or hate him, doesn't matter, dude's a monster in the rap battle scene.
Fun fact, Eminem wrote all the bars and lyrics that everyone used in these battles, his own as well as his opponents. It is a good movie, well worth watching.
EDIT: Apparently I was wrong according to later information, Em didn't write all the lyrics. Thanks to the people who contributed with information, it's always nice to learn something new.
Not true! Graig G wrote the rhymes for all the opponents.
@@lemski92 Yea Em had oversight to make sure it went well.. but he did not write all the bars for the movie, a lot of people heard that rumor years ago and I guess its still stuck
Lickity Split is a Detroit mc known as Stryke. I'm sure he wrote some of his own.
Fun fact, people like to type fake stories after the words "Fun fact".
@@joeybrazil2024 It's what I knew at the time, then I was corrected by a couple of other people here. That kind of posts I appreciate since it teaches me something I didn't know before, people who just shitpost pretending to be superior I do not.
Your expressions live in my head rent-free,,,absolutely love you britt!
The Shelter is an actual venue, its in the basement of St Andrew's Hall in Detroit. But for the battle scenes it was filmed upstairs in St Andrews because the Shelter is small as hell. I was just there in October
"But i know somthin about youu" PERFECT MOCKING TONE
Eminem won an Oscar for the song he wrote for the movie ‘Eight mile’ called ‘lose yourself’ plus he wrote all the rap battles as well. Eminem is incredibly talented on so many levels, he’s now a legend and icon.
Nah, he didn't wrote all the battles. He mostly wrote just his lyrics, rest of them were written by Craig G and some other MCs. You can check writing credits for all these battles on Genius.
Cringe, Eminem is a legend made don't unnecessarily make things up
A more fun thing that's actually a fact.. when the scene is of him on a bus writing lyrics, he was still writing down the lyrics for Lose Yourself.
One of the coolest stories ever told, get em' Marshall! Love the reactions Britt, always bringing the energy & positive vibes!
The movie 8 mile was definitely pulled from Eminems early life. These rap battles are what got him connected to dr.dre. the story is he got in 2nd place at the rap Olympics and was pissed off and then he threw his demo tape at someone ( Jimmy ivene), and it was passed on to dr.dre
Wasnt jimmy himself. But it was someone close to jimmy.
An intern at Interscope
@@lilyz2156 no the cousin of the sister of the intern at interscope
@@crombez65 Sorry, I only paraphrased what Jimmy Iovine and Eminem said on "The Defiant Ones" tv series
Britt, you have to be the nicest, kind hearted, sweetest person out there. You go girl!
Fun fact: Brit Murphy had never given anyone the finger before. Em had to teach her how to. I get chills every time I see her do it because I miss her so much.
Have a blessed day! ✝️
Lol
Exact same thing happened to my aunt in traffic.
Somebody gave her the finger, so she returned it. We had to tell her it was the wrong finger!
@@robbob5302😂
This is a biography with free rein, but relatively close to the actual events. Trailer park, mom f'd up, little sister he cares for, working crap jobs in Detroit and 8 mile is definitely a divide. I love this movie. I love Eminem. A true do what you want and a victory story. The fact that he didn't show up at the awards show when he was nominated, because he would never win. He won. Came back to that same show, sang his song, and it is still loved as much as it was back then.
I absolutely love that you explained the name of their place as The Shelter being their safe place. We can still learn every day. Thank you for your true reactions and the words you share.
The funny part is Marsh became friends with everyone on set, including with Anthony Mackie...and he learned he went to a private school, etc.. and just localized it here. So when he wrote all the raps, he hit him with persoanlized hits directly to his soul.
"Now you gotta dig deep...CLARENCE" Girl, I hollered when you said that!!!! hahaha great/entertaining video!
This film was actually Anthony Mackie's first film. A couple of years later he played Tupac in Notorious (a biopic of the like of the Notorious BIG) and now he's a big part of one of the biggest media franchises in the world. Crazy to think how much he grew
Can’t believe this came out before Manchurian Candidate and Million Dollar Baby!
Damn, I actually had to check imdb on that, you're right!! I can't believe that, I thought he's been around since his young days!! Good for him, what a great movie to be in as your first!
@@MikeB12800Manchurian candidate was book, then black and white movie and then there was a Tv-serie about it... I think Homeland it was🤔 at least few first seasons.
I remember the first time i heard My name is on the radio i was hooked. it was serious and funny at the same time and Em sounded like nothing else out there. Pure natural talent, Dre took that mound of clay and molded a rap god
So love this scene. "But I know something about you! He went to Cranbrook, that's a PRIVATE SCHOOL". Early in the movie, Rabbit gets stage fright and throws up in the bathroom. But he doesn't give up. That makes it extra compelling when he doesn't immediately start rapping in his first performance here. The "halfway crooks" bit is from a great Mobb Depp song, "Shook Ones Pt. II". That ending is the mic drop of all mic drops.
Also the backing track on B Rabbit vs. Papa Doc is Shook Ones Part 2. So it was just so right to use it in this rap battle
@@oHawkeyeoMobb Deep, today only a handful of people still remember them.
Shook ones part 2 is great, my all time favorite from them is „give up the goods“!! God i miss the times when there were brilliant rap albums coming out every two weeks.
Rabbit wins, but not many notice how hard Lotto brought it!! That was an awesome 2nd round!
Not many notice because it wasn't that hard. Both of 'em had weak flow and no sense of beat.
@@blindedinchains829Lotto should've won 😂
@@KVJ-w7h A consolation prize, maybe.
Lotto had bars your talking 💩
I enjoyed that you said "he shook"
He was indeed.
A shook one.
RIP to Prodigy one of the dopest to ever do it
Huh prodigy isn’t in this movie.
@@trevorwalsh9443he was just referring to the verse of Prodigy in the Shook Ones II song..
First...you are so beautiful. Second...Em actually wrote the battles. Third...much to the surprise of Anthony Mackie (Papa Doc), Em incorporated facts from his actual life into his rap. The look on Anthony Mackie's face is genuine. Em won the Oscar for best song (Lose Yourself) that year, and the movie is worth watching! ❤
Your reactions are so cute and fun to watch. You got a voice, love to hear it.
He grew through the battle rap scene and this was based on his actual life with some changes. He has a little sister in the movie, but he actually had a brother and things of that nature.
If you do watch the movie; you can do a summary reaction to what you thought of it; that would be awesome.
Or start a Patreon and do a full reaction! I would watch 😊
@@KB_-_ -- A movie react side channel would be awesome. I can imagine she probably didn't see movies like Friday either.
Indeed
@@KB_-_First time watching and reacting to 8-mile movie except the ending...
The Best Reaction i ever saw for 8 Mile - thank you for this. Love it
The lotto line has double meaning. Phone number and lottery numbers for a dollar. One of the greatest lines ever.
Wow I didn't realize that, honestly thought it was a soft line, but that double meaning makes it pretty tight
So many of Eminem's raps have those layers of meanings. Even still in Houdini, I always have to go back and rewatch with stops after I watch the first time through, to catch all the double meanings.
Britt my son Robby, sadly i lost him to a fentanyl homicide 2 yrs ago, (forever 38) but he was a big time fan of both Eminem and Tupac.
When he was 19, he was in a really bad automobile accident that broke every bone on his right side and left him with a Traumatic Brain Injury.
When he woke up from his coma a couple months later, his memories were so scrambled, he couldn't remember anything n he couldn't remember any names of family members, he forgot my grandmother, his great grandmother who he was so close with had passed 5 yrs before, etc but the nurse told me that the memories are there n pictures n music will help bring them back so i made a scrap book of his life filled with pictures of everything and everybody but the real breakthrough was his CDs. When i played Eminem and Tupac, he came to life n sang Every single song, word for word n he did not miss a beat. Thats how i got him back but unfortunately i lost him again 19 years later and he was my only child. He absolutely loved, loved, loved, the 8 mile movie so of course i had to watch n i loved it even though Im not a fan of much rap.
That’s a beautiful of your son recovering his memories through music.
Bless you and your son ♥️🙏🙏🙏
Lose Yourself won an Oscar for best song but Eminem wasn’t there to accept. A couple years ago he did perform Lose Yourself at the Oscars and the crowd could barely contain themselves.
I’ve seen this a thousand times, but it was nice watching your reaction!! Thanks!! 🔥🔥🔥
imagine the pressure standing there after that last round from eminem with that whole crowd chanting WHAT at you!!!
I just want to shout out your input! I was expecting another one of those reaction TH-camrs who sit there with no expression and say “damn, that’s crazy 😐,” but you really did analyze it thoroughly.
I tear up listening to his last verse, not sadness tho, PURE JOY! this guy has saved my life
This video brought me so much joy. Loved the reactions!
This has to be one of the purest reactions ever because of the purity of the person! You wouldn't even say the word KKK. That says so much. The self awareness is AMAZING!!! I would LOVE to know you personally. We need ppl like you in our lives. Shout out to you!
My thoughts exactly. Protect this woman at all costs. She's a real one
She didn't say it because the video would've been demonitized. Be quiet
@@HeWhoShams🙄Lord...negativity entered the chat😒
I am just now finding your videos and WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!! I think you're amazing❤ seriously left me smiling with every video I've seen so far so thank you!!!
This most deff was a good representation of Ems life. Em came up in the underground battle scene
You’re a breath of fresh air with reactors. Your reaction to the Air Force quire on the song “God Bless the USA” when you got emotional and teared up was genuine and cool…
One of the best movies ever regardless of who it's about or if it's based on Eminem's life. It's just incredibly well-made movie. When you see everything that takes place in the week that this movie takes place in leading up to this rap battle it makes the battle even more significant
I’ve watched 8 Mile a dozen of times not because it is my favorite. Nor how influential Eminem’s story is very relatable to our own. But this movie taught me to how find my own individuality like he did.
Girl! I highly recommend if you get the time to watch 8 mile! It's one of my favorites since I was a kid. If you want just a small summary glimpse into Eminems life that's the movie. This man has really been through much and you only see a very very small portion of it in his movie but it's still a nice understanding of his come up some. It was actually super hard for him to even get his foot into rap in the first place. Nobody wanted to sign him because he was Caucasian at the time until Dre gave him a chance and finally he took off. But this man put all his blood, sweat, tears and dedication/passion into his music. He also eventually went on to show people that it doesn't matter how low off you may be, you can always fight to turn it all around.
"What more can you saaaaaaay~?" I nearly died. Also, you sounded so good.
Besides watching the film obviously, you would understand some things better if you also listen to the original track where the beat is from, from the Papa Doc battle. It's called "Shook ones" by Mobb Deep. B. Rabbit got some things out of this track into the battle.
Yes! That's why the whole crowd knew the line "Ain't no such thing as halfway crooks". I believe that's Shook Ones Pt II.
@@MarkYoungRJ exactly
OMG this is the first video I see of yours and I have to say I LOVE your energy and you're just so beautiful I'm stunned.
The final rap battle loses almost all of its meaning if you haven't seen the movie.
First time seeing one of your reacts and first off I have to say you are beautiful second I love that you are seeing things many of us saw so long ago for the first time with an open mind, Your reactions are so pure and real and I love you for all of your content now I am for sure subscribed and will follow you where ever you go in the future. Much LUV
Girl I like your reaction so much!
First time watching your videos. Loved it. Was lucky enough to see eminem live when he played Scotland. Unbelievable live.
It was a nickname his mother gave him, it stuck, and people never
Let him forget it
The rap to the crowd was a diss in itself. He rapped to the ones behind him and then gave the crew he was dissing a look. You see who rocked with em in this and who was against him it's pretty genius how he put it together
Your reaction was so genuine! Definitely subscribed
"Salt, all them, salt" Dude I effing love you, immidiate sub
16:50 "Calrance, parent's ,had a very good marriege." this is one of my fave movies.
for that last battle scene Eminem was sick as a dog that's why his eye were so red and puffy. And if you haven't by now i do recommend this movie. It is really good. There are scenes with him carrying around and writing on a make shift note book. That is the actual notebook he used on set to come up with the lyrics of his songs and if paused at just the right time you can read them.
Ma’am, you are too much fun. I’m subscribing. I hope you’ve watched 8 Mile now. Great movie. Em is a legend for a reason. A literal lyrical genius. He was known for being a dangerous battle rapper before he got his break. 50 years old and still at the top of the game.
When I need to get out of a funk I watch this movie. Get chills every time. Overcome people. The dream can happen!
I have to watch 8 mile again this weekend. Eminem is so freaking great at his craft.
You are so adorable❤its so fun watching Eminem first watch reactions
"im still standing here screamin fuck your free world" Forever will be my favorite line. Such a strong delivery.
It's "Fuck THE free world" not "Fuck YOUR free world" Just sayin"
The final beat is from Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones" - so Eminem's delivery and wordplay is PERFECT for it.
And Eminem isn't dissing him for being from a good family, he's calling him out for being a poser and a liar. And that's worse BY FAR.
First time seeing your content. Love everything about this. You are funny, beautiful and when the looks you gave when you said "Is that old girl..."
I am definitely going to check out the rest of your content. Much love!
They call him B. Rabbit b/c his mom called him "Bunny Rabbit" when he was a kid and it stuck. When Em finished his last round and you said about Papa Dock, "He shook", you probably didn't realize this, but when the crowd finished Em's line at 15:48, he was quoting "Shook Ones: Part 2" by Mobb Deep. And the beat in the last round is from that song, too.
“Ladies and gentlemen, SALT!” 😂😂 I just love your personality
Best reaction I've seen so far, big up to you girl 🎉 you seem real, not like other reaction I've seen; God bless you 🙏
Sweetie you are most definitely the best reactor I've seen yet I laughed my ass off with your laughter. Enjoy watching you big-time
You do so well on these. You were made for this I really enjoy your facial expression. Keep the positivity and love going that is what the world needs.
You are so funny i love this 🤣😭 “you too girl you missed your exit” && then the “na na na goodbye” omgggg 😂😂😂
You made me want to rewatch this. Great breakdown. Hope you crossed it off your list.
I stumbled across this and you gained a new fan! Your beautiful, funny, and intelligent... and none of that matters. Your reaction was sooo cute.
Love that you have never see the movie but picked up on the deep content of the lyrics. Love your reaction videos! Keep up the great work!
One of my favorites!!! I love watching people having a experience that I'm unfamiliar with... And I love how M continued to have a amazing career!! Keep up the great reactions lil lady!!
You are absolutely GORGEOUS
My Gawd Girl you Fine as Hell… thanks gor your reaction 😊
I had no idea what the heck was going on in that scene, no joke. You pulled it apart and I had to listen to the pieces again... Never heard that before.
You have the best reactions you something intelligent to say everytime
First video iv seen of yours. Subscribed! Your personality and thought process is brilliant 😊
Boss ending B.Rabbit kills em. Loved this movie, grew up at the perfect time
Definitely the classiest and most accurate reaction I've ever seen.
Since you didn't see the movie, Eminem (b-rabbit) was a choke
artist in front of a live crowd.
The thing is that Eminem wrote every lyric in this movie for all actors and everything it's crazy you are super gorgeous by the way
For the ULTIMATE 🤯🤯 experience...u need to see the deleted scenes of the ACTUAL rap battles they had in that crowd.. the bonus content on the 8-Mile dvd is INSANE!!!!!
The one we're he smoked that dude for talking shit to him for Panamiming
@@JumpingAssninja & that guy opened the flood gates, so that everyone who was up against Em in the montage after that had to ACTUALLY battle him!...& when they put up a female rapper just for "equality sake" (I don't recall her doin anything except "be the token female"...🤷🏿♂️)...😒...he SHREDS HER, just so she can't go back and make up a story about beating him in a battle! lol...again...because of what the first guy said about the "pantomime" !
this rap battle is sooo easy thing for em he's a lyrical god 🔥🙏🏿
Thats Em's best weapon. He is self aware enough to know what others are going to say and agrees. Then they don't have anything to say.
Seeing someone who has never seen this/doesn’t know about Em, brings joy to my heart 😂❤
watching the video today and omg i just love this movie and the ending so much and i just loved your reaction....your reactions are like if you were there lol same reactions as the crowd...hopefully you have watched the movie already (have not looked into it yet) but man seeing that reaction of you with all the context in your head would be really dope! also gave you a like bc i still love seeing this ending so props!!
I am so happy you reacted to this.
A cool detail for any who didn't notice or have this context:
Rabbit/Em incorporates lines from Shook Ones pt 2 by Mobb Deep in that final battle, because that's the beat they're battling to (one of the best beats in hip-hop imho).
And that's why the crowd knows to join in with "ain't no such thing as half-way crooks"
Ok, this is my second time watching this reaction, and I am gonna answer your video questions, This is totally autobiographical to Eminem’s career! The Shelter is a club in Detroit, where Marshall Mathers started his career!! They use to have tap battles down there , I’ve never attended but you can find a few early 90’s era videos of Em in rap battles! Love your content girl!
I hardly ever comment on TH-cam videos but when you said (in regards to Brittney Murphy's character), "you missed your exit, you should've left with the Free World, hmm", I laughed very loudly.
This movie is why Eminem can legitimately call himself "Oscar Winner."
One of my fave movies ever. 43 from NZ here. I just love the flows and the OHHHHHs
Excellent reaction loved it and you're so right about little busta X
The final round sample is the legendary"Shook Ones" by Mobb Deep. Em makes reference to being "shook: and "ain't no such thing as halfway crooks" both of which are direct reference to the song.
