This was meant as a joke, but i think it's actually correct. The way out of a stalemate with players who are trying to play optimally and not with their emotions is to outsmart them by creating a board situation so complex that they start making mistakes that you can take advantage of.

Tbf this game ended up in a stalemate and Champion died to a suicide 😅. They were just swapping around between South America, Europe and Australia with very similar troop numbers until yellow prayed for a good blitz roll
Stalemates are part of the reason why I don't play fixed cards as much as I used to. Far too often I've gotten into games where the strongest player only wants to turtle. 10, 12 turns will go by and they won't do anything and it's difficult to get the other players to help fight the strongest player. Eventually something comes up IRL and I have to go so I just quit most of those games.
You deserve to win that game. Purple was the ultimate pacifist and yellow handed him the game when you're the won who should've won by putting in effort to end the game instead of an hours long slugfest.
I think you made a video on it about the double continent strategy where you both hold equal continents to the team against the turtler. You could have teamed with purple early and later on, they could have teamed on you. Near the end, if you listened to yellow and attacked purple first, he might not have blitzed you. You were trying to prevent a stalemate the whole time but you kept trying to get an advantage too which is why you were still targeted. If you gave one person an equal advantage then you could team on the other one. I used your strategy with a beginner because he kept fighting me while the expert player was turtling in Australia. I kept giving him signals of "well played" and "angry emojis" based on his actions as alliances were off to get a truce between us on two continents each. Then I manually rolled and blitzed small armies into the turtler eventually forcing my beginner player to blitz his whole army and let me win.
I was thinking the same thing. Especially when yellow was the weakest and the Australian Turtle. Just start crushing small armies into him equally and eventually it's a 1v1 where stablemates are impossible.
I'm curious why at 7:26, or even later, you took Afghanistan, but fortified back to Siberia, leaving purple to re-take Ural and get a card, over and over, as opposed to blocking him in Ural and pushing him to attack yellow. I'm really enjoying your posts. Thank you sir!

Sometimes I wonder how long these games last. Sometimes I wonder how much longer they would have lasted if yellow tried to outsmart you rather than breaking one of your biggest armies. It was an unfortunate ending as always it seems.
I've been finding myself getting into a lot more final 2 situations but I realize I keep messing up the final 3 situation. I'm never the 2nd to last one out, but I can't seem to win. In a recent game I got pretty unlucky with the first few rolls and lost like 18 troops to kill 7 and only win 2 territories after 2 rounds, but I managed to turn it around with a lot of cards and some good luck with another player losing all of his troops to take SA early on. The game continues and me and the ally I made when we were both weak became the strongest in the game. I'm not frustrated that I lost the game, but I would like to know where I went wrong. Was it when I continued to hesitate to take his NA bonus in fear that he would retaliate so instead I focused on Africa and attacked the weakest player, but in the final 3 I realized I was doing the heavier lifting as I was taking 30 v 20 battles while he was only taking 20 v 1 (or 2) battles. He did take some of the big battles as well, but by that point it was clear that he had won as he had held on to Australia for a while as well Side note: I'm Novice ranked, and my ally I later learned was Master, the skill difference is what destroyed me I'm still sure.

Another fantastic game with grandmasters and covering many tactics. Thank you for listening to my comment on the other epic video and making more like it! :) What tips do you have when you are the weaker player, stuck in Africa, 2 others remain, fixed card game, strongest player has Australia and Asia, and other player has America's and they refuse to attack each other? I saw I was weakest and behind each turn... But what to do? I'm intermediate, Asia was expert, and americas was intermediate.
Thank you for watching! :) In a 3 player situation when you're the weakest and two other players are equally strong getting pretty much the same number of troops and refusing to attack each other, it's not something up to you to do. It would be stupid to attack one of the players while giving the advantage to the another one, so you just have to sit and wait. It's only up to these 2 strongest players to do something to get out of the stalemate situation.
@@Risk4Ever thank you champion! I understand I must do nothing, be passive as I'm powerless, but similar to the Australian turtle in this video, if I do nothing and become much weaker than than I will be taken out right? Is my destiny already set that I will be the next player taken out as stalemate continues? I am still learning and confused as to when it is better for me to at least get north America like you do sometimes or South America to ensure I do not become the weakest?
@@amitshah4222 If it was a 4 player situation with you being the weakest and other players being quite stronger than you, then yes - you could consider yourself to be potentially screwed. But in a 3 player situation your destiny by being the weakest isn't set. If one of the two strongest players takes you out, then the game will be given away for the another strong player. So nobody of these strongest players (if they're pretty much equally strong) can take you out, no matter how weak you are. So unless you're so weak that it's worth to take you out for the cards or so. But yeah the disadvantage of being the weakest in the 3 player described situation is that one player can get bored and suicide on you, or just simply quit and in such situation you will be screwed too. But your advantage is in that, that these two players can eventually start fighting each other and destroy way too many of their troops, so you will have more troops than both of them combined and be able to take them out in a single turn or so.
@@Risk4Ever thank you for the quick responses! One of the stronger players did eventually quit and then I was wiped away very quickly. The game started as 6 player I think so will I be placed 3rd behind the bot and winner or 2nd because the other player quit?
@@amitshah4222 You're welcome! And I'm not sure whether you will get 2nd or 3rd, unfortunately there is no official info on how it works with disconnected players
I can’t state the standard risk map, it’s just boring. Everyone turtles and hours can go by with nothing fun happening. Much prefer progressive cards and bigger maps. Makes alliances and timing and strategy a lot more open and fun. You are a great player though I don’t have the patience for this vs pros. I hit expert so far doubt I’ll hit master though.
Risk4ever! #1 How far ahead should I be when I decide to take out the weakest player? Or stated differently and perhaps better, it seems when the strongest player does this, he becomes the weakest player for the next turns...how far is too far to fall behind? #2 If we don't have a situation where we can trust Yellow to play appropriately, are there any safeguarding tricks or tactics to employ to ensure we don't just lose immediately afterward? Should I always be looking to turtle in a place like Australia after removing the weakest player with my advantage? Anticipatory thanks for any replies...
1) You can take another player out when you're sure that after taking that player out, the balance of the game will be sustained - that you and other players combined would still have quite more troops than the new strongest player. As if you and other players combined have the same number of troops as the strongest player or even a little bit more, then you can still be in a big danger, as the strongest player blitzing the armies will have a big advantage as the attacker, especially if being played with balanced blitz, the bigger armies are - the bigger attacking advantage is. So for that reason it can be very hard to say how many troops players combined still should be ahead after the weakest player is destroyed. It increases the bigger the armies are of all of the players. Another thing to keep in mind is cards, if the players have like 4-5 cards each, then the strongest player will not only have the attacking advantage but he will be able to re-gain the troops from the cards he is going to get. So that's another point of why it can become very dangerous if the players get closer to the situation when they will have the same number of troops combined as the strongest player. Another point to take into the account is location - will the strongest player be able to get the position where he would be able to get a lot of troops and at the same time guard the continents that nobody would be able to invade them without suiciding. For example: if after taking the weakest player out, would the strongest player would be able to get and properly guard either both of the Americas or Australia and Asia or Europe plus Africa... When it comes to you alone - you need to make sure that after taking the weakest player out, you would still look not to be worth taken out for your cards or not very weak in general. If you're left with like 30 or less troops but with 4-5 cards, then you can very likely be taken out. Also probably at most cases you only want to take the weakest player out when you're becoming the weakest one by yourself after that - is when it comes to 4 player situations. The balance of the game can be usually sustained with 3 players in total (2 balancers and 1 strongest player), more players can be not necessary needed at all. So if there is 5 or 6 player situation when you're the strongest, then don't take the weakest player out if after taking him out you will become the weakest by yourself, as you will not be needed in the game. But if in 5-6 player situation after taking the weakest player out you wouldn't become the weakest player by yourself, then sure you can go for it, taking into the account all the circumstances. 2) If you don't trust another player enough that he would be helping to attack the new strongest player, then maybe don't take the weakest player out. But if you did, and the other player doesn't help you attack the new strongest player, then you still should attack the strongest player by yourself, maybe if you show initiative by attacking the strongest player by yourself, then that other player might start attacking the strongest player by himself as well. Well, if the other player is dumb enough to not team up with you on the strongest player when it's absolutely needed, then unfortunately both of you will lose. So if you don't trust another player enough, or if you see that this player is low ranked and very unskillful in general, then don't put a lot of hopes into him. In general to avoid the situations where other player wouldn't help you to deal with the strongest player, it's the best to take the weakest player out is when two other remaining players would be equally strong. Like not necessary somebody other becomes the strongest after you take the weakest player out, it can be two pretty much equally strong players. For example there's 4 player game, one player has North America, other player - Europe, another one - South America plus Africa, and the final one - just Australia. So any of the first 3 players (assuming they're pretty much equally strong), can take the Australian player out and not worry about "the other player doesn't team up with me on the strongest one" problem at all, as this problem won't exist, two other players will be balancing each other. So after taking the Australian player out, it's probably the best to stay in Australia as it's the most passive place to be in. You abandon other continents you had, and let the 2 other players deal by themselves. They might get greedy or be not satisfied with each other, so they will start attacking each other and pottencially crush too many of their troops eventually. So this is why it's usually Australia, however you can try turtling in any other continent you want, you might not necessary abandon your old continent(-s), or you can even try being without a continent at all. Turtling in Australia is just one of the strategies, so you can experiment and come up with multiple different ones. However, while being in Australia you will most likely get away from the conflicts or won't get involved in them, and at the same time you will still be getting 2 extra troops (as if we compare with having no continent at all).
Could you go over specific strategies by continent? Like if you are Africa your first thought should be going for South America but if it’s taken then maybe attacking the European player. I know when I first started the hardest part was thinking “what do I do next”
Thanks for the suggestion! 👍 For me the continents are more secondary thing actually, I always try to go by the main principals first, like the balance of the game and diplomacy if it's fixed cards, haha 😁
Bro what should we do, if one player is getting stronger, And I'm not in position to counter him, plus other opponents are dumb and keep on attacking me instead of attacking him. Is there any way to get away from such situation.
Unfortunately sometimes there is just nothing you could do if other players don't realize what they give away the game for another player. Though if other players keep attacking you, then you could move out from your continent combining your troops into one big army and moving to some neutral place, so then these players might leave you alone, and if the strongest player invades them, then they might switch their attention on attacking him
@@Risk4Ever Thanks i will try that next time. I was trapped inside Australia, although i could have invaded both Americas easily and made that stronger player little weak, but a noob player just blocked my way, he was neither attacking him neither me, and i didn't want to waste my troops on him, but at last i had no other option.
@@Risk4Ever i started playing this game a year ago, and I learned this game from you, then i left now i downloaded it back, and again started learning from you. I just want to thank you, your videos are so helpful we learn a lot from them.
This is why I lose so many games. I can't handle stalemates that can last an hour. In a 5 player match, I had to take out the weakest player and I was the second weakest player... And eventhough I had about 70% of the biggest army afterwards, they still won't attack me... What should I have done? Should I have carried on trying to grow stronger stalemating them like you did until I find an opportunity to kill again?
I don't know, it can be really frustrating when you're the only person in the game who tries to make the game to not stalemate, also there is always a risk that someone suicides on you if they get annoyed too much... If they let you grow strong, then it's probably the safest choice to wait and take someone out again rather than attacking someone and potentially risking to get suicided on. Or just simply wait till someone disconnects, so with you being the strongest player, you would have a huge advantage. But the stalemates are the reason why I don't like playing fixed card games with high ranked players in the public lobbies much. It could probably be more fun to play 6p fixed with beginners or 4p fixed with intermediates. But for the real deal challenge I play 4-6p fixed with subscribers of any rank, we try to attack each other a lot and not make the game to be a stalemate, it's still hardly goes sometimes (some people, especially new, being very passive), but considering 6p fixed would have been a total stalemate with subscribers like just only a half of year ago, it's a very great achievement for me.
@@Risk4Ever yeah im new to the game but I love it! I think I will play more unranked and play beginner/intermediate players only. I think that stalemate must have been a high-ranked game. All three didn't want to lose the advantage and turtled til 200 troops. They really turtled hard. Like they take a 1 then back off repeatedly for dozens of turns!
@@babyfreezer Yeah, that's what usually happens with high ranked players. They know the turtling strategies of building big armies and attacking one territory per turn just to get a card, they all have the alliances with each other or even if they don't have, they still don't attack each other. They just hope others to do all the dirty work for them. But since everyone in a high ranked lobby knows "the secret", it's just doesn't work anymore, the game becomes one long dragged stalemate of patience. So in my newest videos which are played with subscribers, I really try to point out how the players are stalemating the game and what they should do instead. Actually in my next video which is going to be 6 players one I'm going to talk about it a lot.
If you have one huge army, people can get scared to invade you as you can suicide on them or completely wipe them out. Bigger the army the more damage you can do in one turn. Also people feel less threatened by you if your army is blocked because you can't use it.
The comment above mentioned some very good reasons on why people do it 👍 Also I can expand on that saying that you build a huge army inside your continent because you wouldn't irritate your opponents, as if you build a huge army next to your opponent's border than that opponent can freak out thinking that you want to attack him, so he starts building an army next to your border too, eventually he can become so triggered by that, so he could decide to crush your army, and this opponents decision could really ruin both of your chances to win or even make both of you lose. So in order to prevent that and not to irritate your opponent, we build armies inside our continents rather than on the borders... But before you start putting your troops into one big army inside your continent, always make sure to make alliances with your neighboring players, so they wouldn't attack you into your unguarded continent. Here is a good game example on how using this strategy can help you win easily against not really experienced players: th-cam.com/video/A25o3t4RbyI/w-d-xo.html
I don't think there's any way to break a 3-way stalemate without someone playing sub-optimally. it seems to be mathematical that if every player is maximizing their chance of winning then a 3-way stalemate is inevitable. Stalemates usually end in a non-optimal way when eiher 1) someone leaves the game whether by abandoning their position or by suiciding, or 2) when two players team up against the third, which requires a lot of trust and so is non-optimal since if either of them has even a slight advantage then the weaker should start attacking the stronger, breaking the trust and the alliance between them, or 3) when someone makes a mistake and breaks the balance in error by attacking too much as happened in this game. Perhaps someday there will be a computer analysis that can determine whether there is a winning strategy out of a stalemate.

all know stalemate happen every game when nobody suicide. so the fate of the game will be decided after someone Disconnect. Once I played a game of 9 hours because nobody disconnected or suicided in a capital game
Even while trying to avoid a stalemate it still occurred, it just shows how poorly designed this game is, the meta doesn't give the right incentives to the players to make the game fun. The concept is pretty good though and I wish they fixed it in a new game or mode
I hate this game, i don't have enough time and every game i play ends up like this with two stuborn morons who have no jobs or life. I always end up strongest player who is forced to take out another player then get sweeped by the second player. Horrificly stupid game because of this.

@@Risk4Ever thank you. That helps a lot. Much appreciated.
@@detrockcity3 You're welcome! :)

I don't know why but I was wanting yellow to win this one. But he made a mistake at the end.
Haha 😁
How dare you don't root for Championever lolololol
@@Risk4Ever cant wait to watch it, keep up the good content!

Bro can you make a guide on how to get blood and honor war strategy game which looks like risk?i would appreciate it
Thanks for your idea! 👍
sorry im still really noob, but why do people leave 1's on their borders and make one pig pile of troops in the centre like they did in Europe?
Here is a good game example on how using this strategy can help you win easily against not really experienced players:

I don't think there's any way to break a 3-way stalemate without someone playing sub-optimally. it seems to be mathematical that if every player is maximizing their chance of winning then a 3-way stalemate is inevitable.
Stalemates usually end in a non-optimal way when eiher
1) someone leaves the game whether by abandoning their position or by suiciding, or
2) when two players team up against the third, which requires a lot of trust and so is non-optimal since if either of them has even a slight advantage then the weaker should start attacking the stronger, breaking the trust and the alliance between them, or
3) when someone makes a mistake and breaks the balance in error by attacking too much as happened in this game.
Perhaps someday there will be a computer analysis that can determine whether there is a winning strategy out of a stalemate.
Is this speeded up or do players rly attack this fast and if they do how

Even while trying to avoid a stalemate it still occurred, it just shows how poorly designed this game is, the meta doesn't give the right incentives to the players to make the game fun. The concept is pretty good though and I wish they fixed it in a new game or mode
