reseting worked in my case, it was showing cartridge failure as I installed on powered ON printer. wasted two days for buying new one but still problem not solved. your trick of resetting worked like magic ... thank you very much

Couldn't understand a word but went to the end of the video where he shows the button pressing sequence to smack the printer into using the current ink cartridge.
It Works!
HP is losing a ton of money on these printers and rakes it all in on the ink.
They put a chip in the cartridge to stop you from using cartridges from another printer that died or after market cartridges. Best bet is a Canon Eco Tank printer or get an after market ink system with tiny flexible hoses that keep the cartridge full.
Or... Keep HP in business and buy original ink. The high capacity and low capacity cost them the same to make within a few cents. The ink cost very little. It's all in the packaging, marketing and labor costs followed by retailer markup. There's a video out there from a wholesaler showing every one of these cartridges cost less than a dollar each.

Thanks for the video and help. New 680 cartridge 3636 printer was showing empty but i reset and it worked for one print. then again same issue. So again i reset , and its keeps on showing empty for every print, and i have reset and play with it each time.
