Envy is a Japanese experimental rock band formed in Tokyo in 1992. They are signed to Rock Action Records in Europe and Temporary Residence Limited in North America, though originally they worked with Level Plane Records. Initially influential in the post-hardcore scene, Envy more recently in their career has grown to include elements of post-rock.[3]
Vocalist Tetsuya Fukagawa was featured on the song "I Chose Horses" from the album Mr. Beast by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai, the same band that owns and operates Rock Action Records.

I was there on this day, a day hot as hell, i didnt know them well at this time, so i got out after three or four songs because it was on the most little stage of the festival and we were a looot of people curious about a japanese band. Thx god i saw them two times more after this episode :p The really amazing thing is that Insomniac Doze wasnt available yet, so the song is really different from what it became for the studio record. I love hearing them "testing" this song since the structure is so much different, the riffs too.
So i love this live video, because now i can remember the show i've been in front of. For all the people who don't know Envy very well, go search for "A dead sinking story" and "All the footprints you've ever left" which are, imo, the best albums of Envy. They are the best shots in their discography if you look for a nice balance between vocal violence/metal riffing & heart-melting breaks. Use headphones!

A couple of years later, go check their latest album, even with a massive change in the lineup their sound is amazing af, this is a great album. (And of course I love all of their albums, but yeah, the most "balanced" ones are those I cherish the most.)
