Love this channel full of great interviews and conversations! Wish there were more. I appreciated their stories about the teachers who changed their lives. A decade later and Rosie's Maravel Arts Center - Rosie's Theater Kids is still changing lives (86% of the kids attending are from low-income backgrounds) - what a legacy!
Rosie is highly articulate and her knowledge covers a broad range of topics. Anyone who is objective should be able to recognize that from her comments.
It would be so nice to have these types of talks on the airwaves, again, with intelligent, wise, kind women. Love both of you, love your works. Love your hearts and souls. And, please give my love to dear Phil!

I have not always agreed with Rosie & didn't like the way she would interrupt people on The View (except Elizabeth). That being said, I have always appreciated her intelligence & willingness to stand up for what she believes in. When you've had a tough childhood like she did, it's going to leave lifetime scars. Remember, almost all great comedians have had tragedy, sadness or rough childhoods.
Sorry.. but I don't believe that this is Marlo Thomas. This is some imposter that Marlo hired to be her in public. At 75, Marlo is probably embarrassed that she no longer looks like "That Girl" and would rather remain at home and so she sends out a double to be her in public. The real Marlo wants the public to remember her as she used to look in the 60's and so she sends a younger looking double to impersonate her.
I liked this but have to disagree on one point Rosy made & that is not everyone favors the 1st child I had 4 children I love each one individually for what they brought into my life!

My uncle had Rumatic fever. So, he was sickly and weak. The boys at school would wait for him and physically assault him. Well my grandmother had a hole in her heart, so anything that required physical exertion was difficult. She was fed up with these little sociopaths, so she was waiting for them over the next hill with a stick. And she whacked those little creeps, they never bothered my uncle again until he was big enough to take care of himself. But, the way people are now they don't stop until you are dead. This was in the late 40's early 50's.
The thing about being gay, is that you can't really talk to your parents, because you don't know if they will support you or try to change you or kick you out. If you're fat, if they call you "parking lot" or if you are discriminated for your race, your family will support you, but if you're gay and they bully you, you can't do much about it.

Love Sydney ran for 2 seasons and there is no evidence that it was cancelled due to pressure from special interest groups - in fact in ran despite pressure. From what I could find out it was cancelled due to poor ratings just like any other TV show -

I live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and here gay people do not talk about it all the time because its considered pretty normal. 18 years ago gay marriage was legalized here. I live near Nyack and when I was younger (about 10 years old) the word around town during Halloween was to go to Rosie O'Donnell's house because she had full-sized candy bars. I never went, but it was definitely a big deal. It wasn't because she was famous tho - - we didn't care about that. We just wanted good candy.
